It is always good to go back to Seagrove. Tara is returning to settle her grandmother's estate. she reconnects with her childhood best friend Noah. The story between Tara and Noah was wonderful. Noah is so patient with Tara as her life is in transition and her heart has been broken. As usual the other ladies of Seagrove have some struggles. The all end up coming together to support each other and there is Dixie our favorite for a good Laugh/
I will be updating this with a longer review. But I loved this book and I adore Rachel Hanna
Sea Glass Summer is my first book by Rachel Hanna and I'm glad I gave it a try. This is a sweet, second chance romance set in a charming South Carolina beach town. Hanna paints a vivid picture of this small town and the folks who live here.
The audio version is nicely performed by Becky Brabham.
I really like this book. It was the 1st in the series or from this author that I've read. It was a very short story about a second chance romance for friends, set in a small beach town. Old feelings surface as they spend time together and then things are up in the air because one of them doesn't live there. A lovely sweet and wholesome beach read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Lovely second chance romance set in the small town of Seagrove, SC. Two best friends, one who never left, one coming back to close out her Grandmother’s estate. A full cast of the town’s lovely, heartwarming characters. While Tara’s story is the main plot line, there are multiple story lines for all the lovely characters in this town.
This is literally the perfect summer read! It had me hooked, and it was so wholesome and sweet I sobbed! I loved it.
This is the first book I've read in the series, but it works fine was a standalone. It's a short story that has 2 different story lines, in my opinion. I found there were many characters that I had a hard time keeping track of at first. I didn't really figure out if the two story lines were connected, so I was a bit confused. I felt like I read two separate books, alternating between chapters. Both were sweet reads, but I would've enjoyed this book more if it focused on just one storyline. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for the ARC in return for my honest opinion.
This was a sweet, short read. I have not read any of the other books in the series, but I think this book worked as a standalone. The main storyline was sad but heartwarming. The secondary storyline was honestly confusing to me. I think there were too many characters for this short of a book. I wish the two storylines connected in some way, instead I was just confused about why they were both present.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to an ALC in exchange for an honest review.
I unfortunately found myself having a hard time figuring out all the characters and how they were related in the first half of this book. The main “romance” had very little if any connection to the side plots. While they were all interesting, varied stories, they all felt pretty superficial. I think since so many characters and their plots needed to get page time, none of them fully were given justice in my opinion. The narrator spoke slowly and did some accents and was okay to listen to. If you like very traditional type of romance, with lots of characters and almost novella like quality, you may enjoy this. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.
"Sea Glass Summer" is the 11th book in a series (and the first one I've read from that series). It worked okay as a standalone story, but contained two separate and distinct storylines that didn't seem to be connected in any way other than some cross-over of secondary characters and the location.
Tara has recently returned to Seagrove to settle her grandmother's estate. While there, she runs into her childhood best friend (and sweetheart), Noah, and romance blossoms from there.
I found the second storyline confusing primarily because it was hard to tell who the main character of that storyline was. There was a new mother, her sisters, and their mother. The new mother and her mother both had things going on (one struggling with taking care of her newborn and the other with a secret she's been keeping). But it seemed the weaker of the two storylines, and I would have enjoyed the book overall more if it had focused solely on the titular storyline.
I do appreciate the opportunity to review this book and thank Rachel Hanna, Dreamscape Select and NetGalley for an advance review copy.
"Sea Glass Summer" by Rachel Hanna is a sweet romance novella. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Becky Brabham did a great job narrating this book. The setting on the coast of South Carolina is beautiful. The main characters are Tara and Noah.

A sweet quick listen. This book packed a lot into a short story. I enjoyed the narrator as well. I look forward to more stories by Rachel Hanna.
Rachel Hanna uses the same enjoyable narrator in all of her Seagrive books.
A recently divorced and fired Tara finds herself back in her hometown at Seagrove South Carolina. She is left with a big question after her rekindling friendship with Noah comes into the mix.
A story of healing wounds, family loss, rekindled friendship and sea glass hunting. Rachel Hanna's books are always a fun light read.
I thought this was a sweet short story about starting over, grief, and love. Tara Lawson's life falls apart basically overnight. She lost her job and her fiancé. Then to top it all off, she receives a call saying her grandma passed away. Thought the way grief was handled was great. This will be perfect cute short beach read for this summer.
I received the audio version of this book. I was not a fan of the narration but think I would have enjoyed this book more just reading it.
Overall, it was a sweet heartwarming short story!
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for the audio-arc of Sea Glass Summer.
A sweet read that is very typical of short romance stories. This was my first read of the series and being the #11th, I was missing out on a running storyline of characters that must have been in previous books. That main character is Tara who returns home to Seagrove, SC. Her life has been in turmoil, loss of her job, failed marriage and now her beloved grandmother has passed. Coming home to settle her grandmother estate and reconnecting to life in a small town is just what she needs. And rekindling a childhood friendship has its benefits but there is a secret that could tear them apart.
The audiobook is short and great for a road-trip that’s only a few hours. I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous books. I guess I need to backtrack. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #SeaGlassSummer
A light, easy, small town, second chance romance. No big surprises, just sweetness and a wonderful happily ever after. This is part of a series, but can certainly be read as a stand alone. I will be going back to listen or read the rest of the series.
A really good beach book and feel good novel. Rachel Hanna makes you wanna visit the small town and location of her book. The characters are real and it is just a fun read. This is my first foray into an audiobook. It was quick and easy and opened up a new dimension to me.
Not sure what exactly I was expecting, but I feel like I was missing something with this one. ??
Sweet story. Short story. But there was either so much turmoil, or…none at all!
The story revolves around Tara. We meet her at her job as a journalist. She just broke up with her fiancé, and she’s feeling lost…
Add to that that her boss got very upset with her for a mistake she made…
and she gets fired! (This all within a few minutes of opening the book!)
Then she gets a phone call that she CANNOT and WILL NOT believe. Her entire life is spinning!
She’s forced to go back to small town South Carolina…where she grew up with her grandma.
Sweet stories. Beautiful episodes of reminiscing. Flashbacks to summertime…walks on the beach…friendships…growing up…and loves lost…
Additionally there are several other mini-stories going on. (Still not sure how they all fit together though ?? !! ??)
Although I liked it, I just feel like I’m missing so much.
Disappointed, as I’ve always liked her books so much in the past…
Anyone else read this??
Thoughts??
3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.
⭐️ Sweet female main character (that can never seem to make up her mind)
⭐️ Wonderful male main character (who should be sainted!!)
⭐️ Sub-story involving writing/publishing a book!
Thanks to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeSelect for an ARC of the audiobook which releases on 3/19/24. Of note: This is book #11 of the series.

This book wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. This is the second book I have taken a chance on with this author, and it seems her “style” is to write stories about 3 completely different but unrelated characters that take place in the same town. I feel like this really doesn’t let us delve into any of the characters, their situations, or get to know their stories particularly well. The stories were nice, I just wish they went deeper.
The narrator did a good job, but her voice sounded a bit old to me for a few of the characters. It was also difficult to tell which story you were in, because her voice didn’t change with the characters.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley; all opinions are my own..
Sea Glass Summer by Rachel Hanna and narrated by Becky Brabham begins with an idyllic scene of 11 year old Tara Lawson and her best friend Noah on their usual early morning walk along the Seagrove beach to find sea glass before school.
This sweet introduction is then eclipsed by Tara in the present day, where everything she has built in Atlanta begins to collapse around her, her engagement breaks up, she misses a fake story and gets royally fired by her boss and then, a few days later, in her haze of bewilderment, she receives a call. Her grandmother, the lady who raised her when her parents passed and who she kept in constant contact with had passed in her sleep and Tara needed to return to Seagrove to settle her estate
This audiobook is read beautifully by Becky Brabham who reflects the gentle nature of the storyline yet reads ach character with great accuracy and continuity for the genre. Wonderful narration
Rachel Hanna writes a heartwarming, immersive and vivid storyline that captures the soul and curls it up an a soft blanket of comfortable narrative that makes you feel like you are in the community, a part of the quaint small town she describes so well, even down to the warm air. Despite all of the cozy, Tara must decide what to do with her grandmothers house, and if she will stay, or leave
A lovely listen and one I really enjoyed. It's quite far on in the series but a perfectly capable standalone. There were a lot of characters within that I am intrigued by so it's likely I will be returning to the Seagrove books
Thank you very much to Dreamscape Select, Rachel Hanna and the great narrator Becky Brabham for this lovely ALC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own
