This gook is so cute. Loved the characters and how much depth this had. Grief was handled very well . The friends-to-lovers trope was handled well as well. Can't wait for this book to come out.

Blinded by the grief of losing her husband, Lark Thompson decides to run to Galway, Ireland. In what seems to be life's cruel joke, she ends up neighboring a local funeral home. When she meets her quiet broody neighbor Callum Flannery, she quickly learns of a huge dilemma in his life. To keep his family's undertaking business in their name, he must get married by 35. Lark decides to help him fine-tune his dating prowess but does not expect for the two of them to seek solace in each other. This book is definitely a will-they-won't-they and we loved it. Lark is a very very complex character and at many times we didn't understand her or her logic. But when it's laid on plain and simple, Lark was going through every stage of grief and the throes of life that go with that. While she was at times unlikable, by the end we understood her more. Callum on the other hand, what an angel. Every minute we saw him we loved him more and more. There was a lot of backstory behind him as well but his will to keep his family business in his name was so good to us. I don't think we'd ever deny the 'marriage of convenience' trope especially between two characters who have such chemistry together. Overall, great read !!

Entertaining and escapist. A recommended purchase for collections where contemporary romance is popular.

Lark, an energetic animator from Texas moves to Ireland to leave her grief behind and winds up living next to a funeral home. Lark’s new neighbor, Callum, is a lonely and shy undertaker who struggles to connect with others. When a delivery mishap brings Lark and Callum face-to-face they form a surprising friendship.

This was a sweet story and Callum is a darling. Lark and Callum have a lot of chemistry and their relationship builds and progresses at a nice pace. While there are some gruesome details about the undertaking business, it was interesting to read about an occupation that isn’t typically featured in a novel (same goes for Lark’s job as an animator). Fans of friends-to-lovers and opposites attract plots will find a lot to like. 3.5 stars.

This book was such a delightful surprise! From the charming Ireland setting, to the sweet and swoony romance between our Irish shy mortitian and the bubly American girl who moves next door to him. The way they went from friends to lovers was so well done and I have to say this was one of my favorites with the trope.
So yeah I highly recommend this book if you're looking for something cute, spicy and charming.
And I can't wait to read more from the author.

This book made me feel all of the feelings. I laughed, I cried, I got butterflies. It was so beautiful and beautifully written, too. I would recommend this to Hozier fans, people with a dark sense of humor, smutty romance readers, people with morbid curiosities, rat lovers, and anyone who loves a good friends to lovers story.

Y’all, this book is so good. I don’t even know where to begin. Lark is a sweet, sunshiney Texan and Callum is a grumpy (but really just shy) Irish mortician and the two of them form an unlikely but delightful friendship. This book truly has everything you could wish for and more, such as
-friends to lovers
-Irish dirty talk
-roller skating in costumes
-caretaking scene
-grief rep
-demisexuality rep
-a funeral crashing pet mouse

I wish I could read this book for the first time again. It exceeded all of my expectations and is just such a charming and heartwarming love story

I am OBSESSED with Callum. I actually read this book in one sitting because I literally could not put it down. I am counting down the days until book 2 is released (not actually because I haven't seen any info on book 2, but you know what I mean). I am typically not the biggest romance girly unless there is a major mystery type subplot, but holy cow I devoured this one. Easily one of my favorite books I have ever read.

I loved Lark and Callum! I could relate to a lot of Callum's personality situations and being reflected in a book is always a wonderful way to be more involved with the story. A great cozy weekend read for myself.

First of all, the title of this book is one of my favorite things ever!
Lark Thompson has moved to Ireland in search of starting anew following the death of her husband. It isn't until she meets Callum Flannelly does she realizes that she is living next door to a funeral home and Callum is the mortician. And that is where an unexpected friendship begins…

Lark and Callum are the complete opposites and I think at first that scares both of them. It isn’t until they begin to hang out with one another do they become comfortable. My favorite thing from this book is that before any sort of relationship begins you can just tell that they are best friends. They surprisingly understand one another in a way others don't.

Callum is honestly one of my favorite mmc ever!!! He is just one of the sweetest characters ever. He appreciates Lark for the person she is and she becomes his safe space. The representation shown through Callum in the book is that he is Demisexual and has a stutter when he speaks. It is thoroughly discussed not only how Callum feels about it but Lark as well. Callum comes to better accept himself because he sees how Lark likes him no matter what. He also helps Lark when it comes to her grief that she has not yet dealt with.

Some of the most amusing scenes of the book are when both Callum and Lark begin to realize that they have romantic feelings for each other. Both of them being in denial leads to a lot of angst and jealousy. It’s worth it at the end because Callum and Lark have the type of love that reminds you that love is precious and sweet and those who find it in others are beyond lucky. EVERYONE needs to read this book especially because it is the debut book of this author, can't wait to read more from them!

*I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity*

Definitely a contender for most unique contemporary romance I’ve ever read, MORBIDLY YOURS has stolen my heart! Incredibly unique and very steamy, this book was a fresh take on many romance cliche’s– and made the genre feel new again. The romantic tension was impecunious, the main characters impossible to not love, and (even though I normally can’t stand a will-they-won’t-they) the story genuinely enjoyable.

If you’re willing to take a chance, this story will definitely not disappoint!!

I was enjoying the banter between the main characters but I cannot lie, some of the mortuary scenes got a little too descriptive for me.

This was a super cute book that also delves into the heavier topic of death. I loved that it's set in Ireland and I'm hoping the next book is with her cousin. I saw this was from a debut author and I can't wait to read more of her work.

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, I was supposed to love this one. I had it on my TBR for quite some time. I saw raving reviews, and there is a male demisexual lead. All right up my alley!

Yeah …

What I didn’t do was read the blurb properly. So, I didn’t know that Callum was a mortician who stuck needles in dead bodies. I’m afraid of needles and anything medically related, and I definitely don’t like needles in dead bodies (I’m nauseated again, only by writing this). So sweet Callum and bright Lark, it wasn’t your fault that I DNF’d. That DNF is entirely on me.

This was so cute.

I've been edging this book for a bit but when I saw it up for request I grabbed it immediately. I'm a sucker for shy, grumpy heroes and their sunshine match. This was unique, romantic and so fun to read. I enjoyed the writing and characters so much. I'll definitely be reading more from this author!

She's a sweet artist who absolutely fears mortality and death and he's her reserved Irish undertaker neighbor, can these two opposites make it work? Lark Thompson hates anything to do with funerals or anything that reminds her of her mortality. She definitely did not expect to be moving into a home next to a funeral home. After the death of her husband, which she still blames herself for, she's getting a new start by accepting a new animation job in Galway, Ireland, far from her old life. She's determined to make the best of her temporary job project and sworn off relationships. Callum Flannelly has one true love in his life, the funeral home he runs, the only issue is that it's his families and his grandfather's stipulation for him inheriting the funeral home is that he has to be married before his. 35th birthday which is coming up fast. Callum know's his chances at finding someone to agree to this is low, especially since he's socially awkward, really reserved, and isn't much of a people person, yet the moment he meets his sunshiny and sweet neighbor he can't help but want to be her friend. Lark and Callum begin a very sweet friendship and Lark promises to help Callum with finding a person to marry him, yet it's becoming very clear that the only person right for that job is Lark and that she's beginning to fall for the one person she never expected. Can Lark find it in herself to move on and find a new chance at happiness or will her grief consume her, and will Callum be able to chase the one woman who has stolen his heart even if he can't inherit his funeral home? This was such a fun and sweet read (with some very fun spicy scenes *wink wink*). You really get to feel the friendship and care that Lark and Callum have for each other and you get to see Lark grow from her grief and chase her own happiness. I really enjoyed this one so much!

Morbidly Yours, a story about an American widow and an Irish mortician, made me cry and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

Callum and Lark are complete opposites on paper, she's a bubbly American who just moved to Ireland for her new job and he's an extremely shy mortician who lives and works next door. Even though their connection is instantaneous they decide their relationship can only ever be platonic. Lark is still grief-stricken and guilt-ridden over the loss of her husband and is not looking for romance. Callum on the other hand is in desperate need of a wife if he wants to keep his family business and he only has nine months to find one.

Callum and Lark soon develop a wonderful friendship in which they support and take care of each other in the sweetest manner. Lark’s friendship helps Callum step out of his comfort zone, which he hopes will also help him find a bride. However, it's not long before their growing attraction leads to very real feelings and throws a wrench in their friends only policy.

Morbidly Yours was a beautiful and surprisingly emotional love story and I loved every word of it. I cannot wait to see what is next for Ivy Fairbanks after such a fantastic debut.
