Sadly I just had to DNF this early on. Just didn't click with me so didn't want to read on unfortunately......

Requested and downloaded this book back in 2013 with every intention of reading it but then it expired on my device before I had the chance. Have felt bad about that and as a result haven't wanted to leave a review but with more and more publishers relying on Feedback ratings I need to clear out some of these older titles in my queue.

The author of the Alone series provided us with a very good ending to the trilogy and I was very satisfied. First, may I say how much I enjoyed the characters in this book, especially Jesse. His bravery makes him admirable and memorable for me, a true standout from other books of this type.


I enjoy a good zombie story, but this one had some additional elements that made it even more interesting. If you've not read the first two books in the story, it would be easy to pick up with this one and figure out exactly what's going on since the author does summarize here and there. This story was fast-paced to the point of being breathless for me, which was amazing. I just felt that I looked up and it was over, and I was left wanting more.

As some other reviewers did, I found some small issues with the ending and the fact that there were questions left unanswered that might have been nice to have had some closure on, but otherwise, the book raced to the end in a wonderful, exciting way. Great ending to a great series. Highly enjoyable!

Such an interesting concept. Totally something I'd recommend to my students.
