This book was fantastic I devoured it in a couple of sitting could not put it down. It was a gripping read with many turns in the story definitely a 5 start thriller. Ava has just had a baby and is struggling so she decides to get some help in a night nanny at first everything seems amazing with the new nanny but then start to spiral out of control for Ava. Who has she let in and is Ava and her new baby safe. This thriller had me on the edge of my seat throughout I think I have found my new favourite author. I can not wait to recommend this excellent book. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.
Ummmmmm. WOW!
What harm can having a night nanny cause?
References check out. She’s great with your baby, even if a little overbearing with you.
Your husband seems to like her (maybe too much?!)
But this nanny has a PAST! A very sad past.
But, you have your own nightmares. But that’s all they are right? Nightmares from being overtired while pregnant and then just having an emergency c-section.
This book had so many twists. But the end. Damn. Completely took me by surprise!
Do not read if you are pregnant!
OMG! This book is fantastic. One of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read. I can definitely see it as a movie.
5 huge stars for The Night Nanny. I had read another book from this author and really liked it so decided to give this one a try. I am so glad I did. This is an amazing book. Ava is married to Ned. They are not very well matched and Ava has been pregnant since right after the wedding. She has many complications from the pregnancy so they hire a night nanny, Nurse Manners. The nurse just also happens to be stunning. The nurse is up to something, as she convinces Ned that she really needs to stay with Ava full time as Ava is depressed and a danger to Ava and Ned's little baby, Isa. Of course Ned jumps at the chance to have Nurse Manners move right in.
Well, this is where the plot thickens. Ms. Lamarr knows how to write a thriller. I loved the characterization, even if I hated Nurse Manners and Ned. This was full of twists and turns and I literally could not put it down. I read it in 2 sittings and the ending floored me. Giving anymore away will spoil the book for others, so I will just say if you like thrillers, give this one a look.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. I greatly appreciate it and highly recommend this book. Thank you Nelle Lamarr for writing a great thriller !!
This author gained a fan when I read 'The Family Guest' last year and I was thrilled to see that her new book was being the next on my to read list.
From the very first page, she had me glued to the pages and I could not wait to find out what was going to happen.
They say coincidences do not exist. I don't totally agree with that. I do believe they can exist in real life, but in a book and especially a thriller, they often are a bit or very orchestrated. :) So when you run into someone who feels like a god send a bit later, take care ;)
I liked Ava right away. I felt for her, because it must be hard wanting to do things but not being able to. Granted, at that moment you are happy with all he help and support you can get, but when it seems like you don't have any say anymore, it time to take a closer look.
Ned, Ned, Ned... Shame on you, but you soon are to meet miss Karma and she does not take any prisoners.
An utterly great book where revenge is written with a capital R. When you know that revenge is a dish best served cold, I hope you will still have left some room for a delicious dessert. 5 stars.
Thank you
This book follows Ava, a new mother to Isa, that due to some complications, decides to hire a night nanny. It will definitely make you think about who you allow around your children!
Unfortunately, I did not relate to this writing style. The dialogue between characters was not for me. I also did not think it was twisty or shocking. It was very predictable and kind of hokey. It was a quick read though.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book was everything I'd want form a domestic noir! The creepy vibe, the suspense, the tension, the sense of not knowing whether something is actually going on or if its just the MC being paranoid after having q baby..... it delivers on the tension and sense of unease perfectly. I couldnt put it down and loved every second as the story progressed. A must read! It was a quick read but absolutely perfect
Never trust your baby to a Nanny without knowing everything there is to know about her. Marley is clearly up to no good. It is Ava's baby and she should not let a Nanny tell her how to raise her baby. That should have raised alarm bells for Ava. Full of suspense. I could not put it down
The Night Nanny tells the story of Ava, who’s struggling being a new mother to baby Isa, while also recovering from a c-section and other health issues. Desperate to get some rest and help, she and her husband, Ned, decide to hire a night nanny. As fate will have it, she actually met one at a coffee shop just a few months prior and instantly clicked! It was kismet…. Or was it? As strange things start happening, Ava wonders if it was a mistake to hire the nanny. Can she save her family before it’s too late?
What a gripping, unputdownable book! Fans of Freida McFadden will love this popcorn thriller filled with unpredictable twists and turns. The writing is so vivid it jumps off the page and comes to life like a movie! 🍿
Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the pleasure of reading this digital ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.
This book could be a lifetime movie! It really gave those vibes. From the start this book was good. Ava is married to Ned and they end up having a baby girl. Ned suggests they get a night nanny so they can get some rest. Ava hires Marley who she met in a coffee shop a few months before she gave birth. Things were great at first but then weird things start happening, Marley calling the baby her baby, Ava’s rings go missing and Ned’s watch is gone. Marley even tries to turn Ned against Ava so she can continue working for them. But can Marley be trusted? This book really kept me on the edge of my seat. It was so fast paced, suspenseful and interesting! Thank you NetGalley, Nelly and Bookouture for the ARC! #TheNightNanny
Ooh I loved this!! Just what was this nanny up to?!! I had to keep reading to find where it was going, it’s so good!! Read it if you can!
The tag line “unputdownable” is exactly what I’d use to describe this book. I devoured this. The plot just kept thickening and I couldn’t get enough! This is the definition of a popcorn thriller.
As a mother, this book was SO FRUSTRATING!! I just kept thinking how angry I’d be if another woman tried to come into my home and tell me what’s best for my child! Especially if someone tried to tell me I couldn’t nurse my own baby and forced formula on me and my baby. That is a very, very sensitive subject for me. So this was all very personal for me.
I really did enjoy this book but theatrics got a little much for me toward the end, but there’s something to be appreciated about that type of thriller, as well! This book gives major Freida McFadden vibes, and she’s one of my all time favorites.
Instagram tour post coming 5/15!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Bookouture for inviting me to be part of the tour for this book!
This book was amazing! Nurse Marley meets Ava at a coffee shop during a difficult pregnancy. After a difficult birth, Ava hires Marley to be their night nanny. Before she knows it, Marley is living at her house, denying her the chance to hold her baby, and moving in on her husband. As Ava heals from her injuries, she starts noticing more and more suspicious things about Marley. What is she up to? What is her connection to Ava? Amazing writing, Intense suspense. Great ending.
I swear just when you think your reading the last chapter suddenly there's more twists and my god did I not expect them.
This book has quite literally blown me away. I was on the edge of my seat reading this. The best thing about this book is that it is completely unpredictable and you will never guess the ending.
