Really cute story with beautiful illustrations! My daughter really enjoyed it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book came out on August 13th, 2024, so you can read it today.
Thank you to NetGalley, Listener Kids, and Tommy Nelson for this e-book in exchange for an honest review.
I need to start this Review off by saying that my kids and I love listening to The Listener kids songs and so when we saw they came out with a book we had to read it. I love how they wrote this book to not only share the good news of God's love but also make it very interactive so kids can think, problem solve and develop empathy while they are experiencing the story. The graphics are adorable, and the story is easy to read and follow along with. My three and eight both loved the story. I think it's great to read if you have kids that are easily scared because it helps to teach them how they are not alone. I highly recommend the story for everyone of all ages!

We are so happy to have received an ebook ARC for this story: He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands! The story features two lovable animal characters, Jack and Scarlett. In this adventure we follow as the two friends face their fears during a thunderstorm. They learn to trust in the Lord. The story helps little children to better understand God's love and His protection over us all. The interactive story features the rabbit and squirrel as they help each other and friends through the storm. The story uses scripture and a classic children's church song, one of my favorites growing up and still today. The illustrations are bright and colorful and really add to the story. I highly recommend this book to all families with little ones.
There is a storm and some animals are worried about a baby bird. This is a nice story about trusting in God and prayer. My daughter enjoyed the interactive parts and we had a lot of fun singing the song at the end.
Wow what a perfect book for littles about God. I loved how interactive it was. My daughter loved it. I can’t wait to add this to our physical bookshelf! The pages are beautiful as well.
Squirrel and bunny, they are so cute characters for the little ones to read and enjoy. Actually I enjoy the story of Jack and Scarlett too, eventhough I am an adult. This book has a lot of meaning especially about God the sovereign who got the whole world in his hands so we can trust in Him.
This interactive board book for ages up to 4 years old uses the fear of a storm to teach toddlers that we can trust God with our fears by remembering what the Bible says, praying and singing. My only reservation is that children learn to be afraid through experiences (afraid of bees because they have been stung) or being conditioned through fears of others (they see someone else afraid of storms and so they learn to be afraid too) so if a toddler is not afraid of a storm, this book could condition them to that fear unless the story is taught in the correct way.
Otherwise, I love that this book engages the toddler within the story as they follow a path or touch the bird and that there is a scripture, a prayer, and a song-all things that are used in a relationship with God.
I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.
Loved this! I love how they made it interactive and had scripture! Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy!
Another great children’s book by this author! The inclusion of prayers and scriptures make it an even better read. I hope there are more books like this
This is a book meant to introduce children to the idea of God's care and protection - hence the title referring to the fact that He holds the whole world in His hands.
When they are feeling afraid in the middle of a terrible thunderstorm, and worrying about the fate of a baby bird that they encounter, the duo is able to draw on the belief that God will keep them safe.
The interactive aspect of this story is very well done, and is definitely one of its strengths. It will be a useful book for Christian parents who want to reassure their children about God's love for them. It gets 3.5 stars.
My husband and I are always looking for Christian books for our kids to read at night with them. As a mom, I am also always looking for new Christina books, especially devotionals to read through to fill my cup.
This Is Not Forever by Sarah Grace Hollis is full of hope when life is not going as planned, or you’re feeling stuck. It was such a reminder to always turn to the Lord when life gets shaky and the foundation doesn’t feel secure. I loved how deep the devotionals were, but how simple they were. I really was able to reflect on them throughout the day, and had the time and attention to soak into the Bible verses, and the encouragement to see me throughout the day. Release date is August 19.
Comfort and Joy by Gwen Lantz and Sarah-Leigh Gerber is a book I cant wait to reread during the holiday season. It was all about how to slow down and enjoy the moment in the season. It was a wonderful advent to walk through the season, and remember the importance of the holiday. Release date is September 2.
Discovering Christmas by Amanda Jass is one I already told my husband we are purchasing for the holiday season. It’s an advent devotional for kids for the Christmas season to focus on the meaning of the season. I loved the illustrations, the sweet words, and simplicity of this book. My kids will absolutely adore this one. It would make a really sweet gift too! Release date is September 9.
The Easter Lamb by John Greco was told so sweet from a child point of view of the story of Easter. The way he intertwines Easter and the Passover, and so simply but deeply explains it all together with such a gentleness for children was wonderful. Release date is December 16.
I’ve Got the Joy and He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands were absolutely adorable. My two little boys loved reading this before bed. We love to listen to the songs of these, and so it was fun to see them flipping the book and saying all the words. The illustrations are beautiful and so colorful for kids. A perfect gift! Release date is August 12.
Waiting Isn’t a Waste by Mark Vrogop is a book I have in my amazon cart. This is a fantastic book on the Sioux characteristics of waiting.
