This book was amazing, though it started off slow. Once you push through to the second half, it truly becomes incredible! As the second installment in the series, the story dives deeper into the war, romance, and political intrigue that make this world so captivating. Aya and Will’s journey is filled with tension, secrets, and magical twists that had me hooked. The stakes are high, with the fate of the realm hanging in the balance, and the characters have to navigate betrayal and dark magic at every turn. If you enjoy fantasy with strong world-building, complex characters, and a mix of magic and romance, this is definitely a series to check out!
It took me until the 80% mark to realize that this was a trilogy and not a duology… I am so excited to get the third book and finish this off! This book kind of gave me the same feelings as when I read throne of glass which is a massive compliment. I truly love this series and I just want the best for these characters!
The only thing that bothered me was that the main pairing was supposed to keep their relationship secret and then they keep doing things in public not even considering that they could get caught.. It kinda bit them in the ass later on so I guess it fine!
Highly recommend and I’m so excited to see Kate finish this series of next year!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Curse of Saints and I appreciated this one as the previous
Well done, intriguing characters and world building, a tightly knitted plot with elements of mystery
Highly recommended
Many thanks to the publisher, all opinions are mine
I think I liked this even more than book 1, which I didn't think was possible! The world building, the characters, the political scheming and action filled plot!? Kate Dramis is an instaread author for me!
After The Curse of Saints, I didn't think I could be more obsessed with the world Kate Dramis had created. I was WRONG.
The characters, THE POLITICAL SCHEMING and the world she has created a just on another level and honestly, I need more immediately. This is a series I know I'll reread again and again.
From the first page to the last, my attention was gripped. The scheming was FANTASTIC, did it hurt at times? HELL YES but it didn't once let up and the plot twists created blew my mind. I honestly didn't think I could love Aya and Will's romance more but The Curse of Sin's took the spark of romance and brought it to another level and every time they are apart I worry for them.
Dnf at 57%. I was forcing myself to read this which is a shame as I loved the first one. I don’t know what has happened to the authors writing style but it feels like this is written by someone else.

The Curse Of Sins by Kate Dramis
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well, here I am again. Reading an ARC only to realise its book 2. So, naturally, I had to go read book 1 first so I was able to give a solid review.
Honestly, this was better than book 1! Book 1 was absolutely amazing, but this trumps it by miles. I was so in love with the way Dramis describes in her writing, she is detailed and it really does show. It’s beautifully done with such captivating characters and world building.
Dramis sucks you into this world that’s filled with magic and ancient curses, so you are unable to actually put it down. Its intriguing from the get-go. Dramis’ writing style is both lyrical and powerful and she makes every scene vivid and impactful.
This is book two in the Curse of Saints series by Kate Dramis and I actually ended up liking it even better than the first one. The world-building continues to be well-done and I love all of the characters (well, almost all of them).
Give me book three now!!!!!!
This was such a great continuation to an epic first books, Aya has returned and she is not the same, neither is the home she is coming back too. There is so much going on and at times felt like it was setting the scene for another epic showdown, but you will not regret picking up this fast paced, easy to read and very addictive second in the series.
A worth while sequel. It explored the characters and their feelings well dealing with the fall out of the last book and the reveals we experienced there. The ending has me highly anticipating the next book.
As with most second books in a series their are times when you feel it's a little slow. However that is to be expected so I did take that into account.
A unique and addictive fantasy series that is very different than a lot of fantasy out there.
Well developed characters, excellent world building, well thought out plot.
I am dying for book 3!!
A great second instalment that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time trying to figure out what was happening! So much tension and intrigue, and the romance was top notch. Can't wait for the next book!

- Thoughts.
- Everything I hoped we’d get past on book 1 … still here….
- everything i liked in book 1 …. gone…
I had such high hopes… and they just fell apart.. its slow and flat and I don’t know how she did that with everything possible to go …. the plot is great execution is horrible.
Literally what else can I say other than this book is freaking amazing... I absolutely adored The Curse of Saints and I was so thrilled to be able to get my hands on a copy of this early... I did however forget to write my feedback on Netgalley for the longest time so my apologies for that. I adore the direction that Kate takes in the book, delving into each of the characters individually and giving us new views and things to think about going into the third novel in the trilogy. I really did have so much fun reading this as much as it tore my heart apart to finish it. I love watching each of the characters interact with each other - their characters are well fleshed out and distinct making it easy for me to follow dialogue which I sometimes struggle with as a dyslexic reader.
I love the writing style but it felt like nothing happened in the first 300 pages and by then it was just dragging for the last 300 pages
Actual rating 4.5/5 stars. This is the second instalment in the Curse of Saints series.
Aya was once in her queen's inner-circle but then her magic manifested and she became everything her kingdom had been taught to fear and despise. Now she has to discover who she really is and if everything she knows has been a lie all along. She must forge her own path and, in doing so, betray queen and country and those she holds dear.
The politics of the lands featured heavily throughout this and I adored the high stakes, the plotting, the scheming, the constant threat of discovery, and the consistent idea that all was not as it really seemed to be. This book was one adrenaline-fuelled ride and I loved every second of it!
That isn't to say that it wasn't without its softer moments, as the core characters explored their relationships with one another. I loved these moments just as much but they too were overshadowed with the threat of discovery. I was dogged with the fear that everything the characters had fought for was going to be ripped away or their bonds used against each other, and it seemed I was right to own this fear!
I got lucky enough to have access to both the Audiobook and ebook of this book, and this was for me the best combo. I did the same thing with The Curse of Saint and it just worked so well, because it does have a slow start, and there were some moments when I struggled a little more into staying into the story, but I soon as I listened to a few chapters, I jumped right back to reading the books (I love being able to read and listen to a book depending on my mood, my schedule or where we are in the story). And the narration was great. I could listen to it at 1.8 or 2x speed like I usually do.
One thing that I did really enjoy is the tension between the characters, as we often didn't know for sure who Aya and Will could really trust, and how these tensions affected the dynamics between characters. Character-wise, we also get additional POVs, and I'm still not 100% how I feel about it. On one hand, I'm not a big fan of multiple POVs, as I do find that it the beat of my reading, and I often find myself struggling to stay in the story when it switches too often. On the other, I was glad to get a little more from Aidon and all, but still. That's where the audio book really helped keep me into the story and pretty much devour the book in a day.
Now, I have to say, I didn't realize this wasn't the conclusion to the story, so there was a little bit of a shock when I realize that (which was pretty in the last like 50 pages). In a way, it is a good sign, because I didn't really like it was a filler book, like it can sometime happen a middle book (though, let's be clear, there were some moments in the books that really slowed it down, and I couldn't have seen remove to keep the pace a little more to my taste). I honestly enjoyed it, and I'm really looking forward to the next book, because I really want to know what will happen next to Aya, Will and company.
A phenomenal sequel to The Curse of Saints full of tension, action and adventure at every term. Highly recommend both books.
The pacing was a bit off for me in this one - which I'm gutted about because The Curse of Saints was one of my top reads last year.
That being said, I did enjoy the twists and turns in this just as much as I had for the first book. It didn't suffer from second book syndrome like you see happen with some books - it was just a bit slower than I would have liked it to be.
For some reason, forgot that this was the second book in a trilogy. Now the painful wait begins to see what happens after that cliffhanger.

Returning with Will, Aya is not the same, for she is the Second Saint, but she also discovers that her home isn't either. Everyone knows the Second Saint has risen, as has the threat of war.
But some seek war for their own gain, and harnessing Aya's power for themselves almost guarantees their success.
Sadly, this was less of a book than the first in this series. It was slow as the plot and characters rambled on about their faults, their feelings, who was doing what, and who was treasonous. There were a lot of things going on, which created a lot of suspects, but still, not a lot happened, and when something did, it was quick.
As this is the second book of the series, I don't want to give out spoilers, but I will say there were a couple (and only a couple) of surprises that made it worth trudging through. But the porn, ewww. It was way too much, so this book, and the series, are not suitable for readers under eighteen.
I'm not saying it's awful, but it just went on and on without much to hook the reader (or keep them awake) until the last ten pages, but... spoiler...
Yes, I would like to know how the story ends, but...
This one just fell short of the next star...
