Holy marbles, holy marbles. I read this in one sitting. I loved it.

We get so much into Memnon's feelings for Selene but we also get what I've been waiting for, the events that lead to Memnon being alseep for 2 thousand years from Roxis Point of view. He made her out to be the villain but she only loved him and did what she did for his survival.

Secrets are uncovered, limbs are torn, magic is exploding and love is growing. It's a story you won't be able to put down, a story that will have you wishing for the next book.

Me: I said I want morally grey!!
Laura Thalassa: Hold my beer.

The author gets it. You want a morally grey character? Do yourself a favor and pick up this series. This is what morally grey means. It doesn't mean only villainous to the bad guys. It doesn't mean snarky. It means they will do whatever it takes to make sure their ambitions are met.
Bespelled picks up right where bewitched left off. Its everything and more.

A badass witch truly coming into her power - yes.
A worshipping down on bended knee sorcerer - heck yes.
Naughty in more ways than one - oh hell yes.

Oh and this was hella spicy too. Sign me up.

Thanks to the author, NetGalley, and the publisher for the ARC.

Bewitched was a sensation start to a brand new series by Laura Thalassa, and she has done it again with this second instalment which starts where bewitched left off.

Selene has gotten her memories back and is starting to understand her past relationship with her soulmate memnon. I know how terrifying it is trying to come to terms with 2 different versions of yourself, the past and the present which is why Selene really struggled with deciding what to do with Memnon and at times this did frustrate me because I just wanted her to pick him 😭 especially because memnon’s grovelling was just top tier utter perfection! He did everything he could to learn about selene, and took care of her.

The heat in this book was off the charts, memnon just gets hotter and hotter 🤭

As for the plot, witches are disappearing and with selene in the middle she works hard to find out who is behind the missing witches, which gave her character so much more depth and strength as she battled not just her own problems but bigger issues outside of her self showing how selfless she is.

This was my most anticipated book of this year and Laura has delivered the perfect witchy, mystery romantsy vibes and I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for the next instalment.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Bloom Books and Laura Thalassa, for my arc in exchange for an honest review 🩷

Bespelled was just as addicting as Bewitched to me. This was the perfect blend of mystery, spice and fantasy that I am looking for in a book. The pacing was really good. I found myself reading this book at every opportunity that I had. It never really lagged for me. I love the fated mates trope and my absolute favorite scenes were the flashbacks to their first life. The book ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m really hoping that Selene and Memnon stay on the same page as far as their relationship goes. I can’t wait for the conclusion in the next book. Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom books for the chance to read and review.

Bespelled is an enchanting follow up to Bewitched, that ratchets up the action, intrigue, and romance.

Having released her soulmate from an enchanted sleep, Selene Bowers finds herself at his mercy as she is framed for a series of murders of young witches around Henbane Coven. Memnon, her soulmate from a past life, is an ancient sorcerer who seeks revenge against Selene, who he believes cursed him to lose everything. But when he forces Selene from the curse that has locked her memories away, she suddenly remembers everything, including the events leading up to Memnon's cursed sleep and her final moments millenia ago. Once Memnon understands what he's done, and all that Selene risked for him in her past life, he vows to make amends and earn her forgiveness. But Selene is not swayed by his charms, or the soul mate bond forged long ago. Meanwhile, the murder is still on the loose, and young witches are still disappearing. Can the pair work together to find out what is happening at Henbane? Or will they risk it all once more and lose each other again?

I really enjoyed this follow up to Bewitched. The story moves at a fast pace, and we have lots of action and intrigue as Selene and Memnon seek to find the killer before more witches turn up missing, or dead. We also have the pair working with Kane and his pack of lycans, which adds some new and interesting characters to the story. This book was a bit spicier than the first, as Memnon and Selene work through their relationship, and reconcile the past with the present. And we had plenty of grovelling from Memnon as well, as he works hard to repair everything broken between him and Selene. The ending had a twist that I was not anticipating, which blows things wide open for the next book. I'm really excited to see where things are headed for the pair, as well as the other characters such as Kane and Sybil.

Thanks so much for NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the advanced copy of this book! All opinions are my own.

after being more or less disappointed with bewitched, I was hoping for a better developed story, in terms of both plot and characters. and this book delivered!

Laura Thalassa is excellent at writing villainous men which are insanely romantic with their MCs, and Memnon’s character arc is incredibly satisfying in this book. he stepped up and showed up for Selene every step of the way, and my heart melted alongside hers! I also appreciated that Selene’s friend, Sybil, took on a more active role in this book and contributed to driving the plot forward.

regarding the plot, I was surprised with the direction this book took by touching on sensitive subjects, such as supernatural trafficking. it was a heartbreaking development in the story that was handled really well in my opinion.

I can’t wait to read the next book, and my only hope is that we get to see Memnon and Selene as a solid, united front - please, no more obstacles!

In Bespelled we get A LOTTTT of grovelling from the wicked warlock 😏😏 along with Selene stepping into her bad ass powers and finding her confidence.

The plot is giving everything I ever wanted from book 2, we have drama drama drama, lots of action, adventure, fights, steamy make ups, and we get a full background history of Selenes past life and the circumstances that tore her and Memnom apart for 2000 years.

I was soooo excited for book 2 in this series, I absolutely loved bewitched, the strong determined FMC and the smoking hot bad boy Memnom “little witch” ughhh give me strength 🤤🤤 swoon worthy, say less.

I also find the FMC so entertaining with her inner thought process, I find the stuff she comes out with so funny I end up laughing out loud. You can definitely say I’m obsessed with these characters.

I also think it’s a relatively unique plot for a fantasy series, we’ve definitely done a lot of the “a court of” “a kingdom of” type series, so I found different aspects of the storyline to be set apart from others in the genre and giving me something new to work with.

I absolutely recommend this series it’s a definite must read for me! Enjoy the ride and watch you don’t burn your mind on the steamy spice chapters 🤣

Thank you to Laura Thalassa, Sourcebooks bloom books and NetGalley for the EARC.

Bespelled was the perfect second installment, picking up right after the events in Bewitched. With Selene regaining her memories, she’s forced to confront her past self and her former relationship with Memnon. She struggles to decipher if her emotions are from her current life or only a reflection of the past. A few moments drove me mad, though, since Selene seemed to be going back and forth about Memnon so often that it nearly gave me whiplash.

Memnon learning Selene’s history and her devotion to him sends him groveling, and I loved every second of it. He completely surrenders himself and will do anything to protect her, even if that means unaliving people. Thalassa writes the best spice and proves it in Bespelled. I can only hope to find myself a Memnon.

During this emotional turmoil, witches are mysteriously disappearing, and Selene finds herself at the center of it. She sets out to discover who’s behind the abductions while simultaneously trying to stay alive, which proves difficult. I’m happy that throughout the story, it was Selene who pushed the plot forward. She was always capable and willing to find her answers without relying on Memnon. Although I certainly didn’t mind having him around.

The witchy vibes, the mystery aspect of the disappearances, and the big bad sorcerer who is always ready to worship his queen are what kept me engrossed in the story. I loved that the witches felt very similar to those we grew up with, casting spells and flying on broomsticks. Thalassa secures her spot as one of my favorite dark fantasy authors with the best romance, and I’m excited to see what happens in book 3.

Thank you, Netgalley and Bloom Books, for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WHAT A MASTERPIECE!

Laura gave us exactly what we needed after the ending of Bewitched. Selene has recovered her memories thank goodness! I'm pretty sure I was sobbing along with Memnon. With those memories brought us a groveling Memnon.
The book still had plenty of action following who was trying to kill and bind the witches. I was completely sucked in and could not function. Could not flip those pages quick enough. At 87% I lost my ability to breath!

Laura is an instant read for me, and if you love romantasy books, you need to be devouring her books also.

I'm ready for book 3! Poor Memnon got himself in trouble again 😂

Bespelled picks up right where we left off with Bewitched and it immediately starts providing some of the answers you wanted in book one. I absolutely loved that. Not only that, the answers provide the avenue that sends Memnon straight to groveling, my favorite thing. Memnon continues to provide us with that same obsession and love, and I would say even more so now that he’s not clouded with the need for revenge. I just love him so much.

Selene is now in an internal battle between her two lives and feelings, trying to figure out how she feels now vs in her previous life. The only thing I found frustrating was that despite having her old memories and therefore knowing intimately that Memnon is in fact an ancient warlord who was asleep all those years, so his evolution wouldn’t really be that significant, she seems to continually believe he’ll be different and seem shocked when he acts as a conqueror would. Those moments of waffling I felt frustrated by only bc her shock seemed silly to me. I felt she was already rightfully angry at him based on his betrayal, the addition of her going back and forth on his character felt a little unnecessary to me after she was already in love with that person in her previous life.

Otherwise, the reasons and how’s of their coming together were fun, the mystery entertaining and captured my interest, and I was constantly waiting to see those examples of both Memnon and Selena’s power. I’m loving this series so far and can’t wait to continue!!

This book blew the first one out of the water. I was glued to the pages and did not want to but the book down. I will say, make sure to read the trigger warnings before diving into this book because it gets a bit dark at times.

We start off where book 1 left us. Selene has her memories back and needs to come to terms with the idea that the Memnon she was prepared to hate is actually someone she could love. Throughout the book Memnon tries to prove his undying devotion to Selene, even bonding them together to prove that he will do whatever it takes to earn her trust. Meanwhile, Selene must not only deal with having all memories associated with her and a completely whipped sorcerer, but also the continual disappearances of witches and the fact that they are now after her as well. Memnon will literally kill whoever looks at her the wrong way, and is not afraid to let her know. He makes sure to show her how serious he is about that as well. I have to say, Memnon really grew on me. In book 1 I was a bit indifferent, but this book he really made a name for himself.

The spice was off the charts. Memnon was not kidding when he said he wanted to worship her. The night of Samhein had me not only laughing because also sweating. I now need to find my own Memnon.

The last 100 pages had me on the edge of my seat. I was so nervous about what was going to happen. While the ending did not have me sobbing, it did leave me with so many more questions that I am dying to get answered.

Overall, this was a great, spicy and anxiety inducing book. It was dark at times and such a great plot. I have no idea where the next book will take us, but I am so excited for the journey.

The way this series has me absolutely hooked is unreal! This genre is not something I typically gravitate to but something about Selene and Memnon has me down bad and I can’t get enough!

This was even better than the first one! I loved the character development of both main characters in this, and I also loved watching their relationship develop throughout the book. As with the previous book, the side characters were great. The main plot was very interesting and fast-paced, and I had a really great time reading this one overall! I can't wait to see what book 3 brings!! :)

Another great book the series! I'm loving it so far. Only thing I hate is having to waiter the next book, the hardships of being a reader.
It's interesting, spicy, hooking and has all the best from the paranormal genre!

I'm so excited I got to read this book. I've been waiting for what seems like forever to get my hands on it. The cover is stunning. Book 2 basically starts off where Bewitched (Book 1) leaves off. I will admit the recap at the beginning was very helpful. Selene is brave, determined and cunning. Yet she seems to always find trouble around every corner. Even still, she doesn't let it get her down. She still sees the best in everyone, when she has no reason to. Memnon is very strategic, resourceful, unhinged and vengeful. I felt as though his character had more growth in this book once he had more information. That being said, this book took me on a wild ride. Some of it I didn't see coming. I hope there's another book because that ending had me searching for more pages. Love reading books from this author and will definitely keep an eye out for more of her books.
