Laura can never do wrong, all of her books are truly wonderful!
I’ve got to warn you, it DOES have a cliffhanger but oh well, it just makes me all the more excited for the next one!
And the spice???? Perfection

Obsessed.

enemies to lovers
animal side sick,a familiar

This is a true enemies to lovers that is fast paced and a wild ride. The banter, the magical quests and the familiar were by far my favorite. This was a hard to put down book.
Thank you netgalley for this arc

Bespelled was amazing maybe even better then the first one! Can't wait for the next book to come out and read more about Memnon and Selene!

I was given access to this arc to read thanks to NetGalley. A fun romantasy. Great read. Would read more by this author.

Unfortunately, the writing style was not for me and I did not finish book 1. Therefore, I will not be able to review the sequel. Thank you for this ARC and I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

Bespelled (the second book in the Bewitched series) by Laura Thalassa is a spooky read perfect for someone looking for something not too serious for the Halloween season.
In my experience, when you pick up a Laura Thalassa book, you are signing up for a romance with some silly, supernatural, beefy man that is pure fun. So far, the Bewitched series has lived up to the Thalassa recipe with one caveat that increased my usual 2-star ratings to a 3-star: I love witchy books, and Thalassa does a pretty great job of setting a great witchy vibe.
Don’t go in expecting too much: the plot isn’t super original, the love interest isn’t unique, his one-liners usually make me inwardly cringe, and the protagonist will always have a super cringy zinger at hand that I am certain no one would actually say aloud. Do expect a plot that is interesting enough to keep you reading, fun witch business, and enough spice to keep most people going. Don’t take it too seriously, and enjoy yourself.
It also doesn’t hurt to imagine Memnon as Justin Baldoni. ;)
Thank you, Laura Thalassa, Lavabrook Publishing, and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Better than the first book, but still leaves something to be desired. Especially with the writing. Happy to see that Memnon and Selene moved things along a little. I like him a lot more this time around. Character dynamic has definitely improved from the first installment. Still hooked in this world, so I’m excited to see what’s next.

4.5 ⭐
I ate this up!!! I loved that Memnon and Selene work together to try and solve the murders, and we get a much better glimpse of their past.
There is one part that made me cry *cough cough Nero* but I recovered.
Memnon is always scheming behind the scenes and seems to be 5 steps ahead, which was very interesting and we learn a lot more about the inner workings of the coven, the Marin pack and the members of the supernatural *high society* in the Bay Area.
I really felt for Selene as she tried to make friends and kept getting deceived. It did feel like Selene barely attended classes and I wish we got a little bit more of her academic setting --- but I understand a lot was going on.
This ends on another major cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next book.

Was enthralled. Love love loved this. Laura Thalassa's writing is addictive and i can't wait to read more by her

I have no words. I am completely speechless at this incredible book. It had me in a choke hold and sick with anxiety from basically all the twists and my mind is obliterated.
I could not, nor did I want to put this down.
Selene growing into her self was so amazing! I have no doubt she is only going to continue to get even more so! And Memnon! Gah! So morally grey and so deliciously incredible. The touch her and d*e vibes are next level and I love him so much. Also the mouth on him. So dirty 😏 I enjoyed every second. There chemistry is next level. The heat was coming off the pages!
This story is so damn captivating and enthralling. I am seriously addicted and it’s going to be so excruciating to have to wait for more!

Bespelled takes what you learned in Bewitched and turns it on its head.
Prepare yourself for lots of drama, violence, and high heat.
Memnon is still a growly force to be reckoned with, who proves that while he may be a quick study on modern life, he’ll continue to obstinately cling to some of his ancient ways as long as he so chooses.
Selene steps into her own and shows us exactly how strong she really is. She’s not one to be underestimated—or trifled with.
I received a copy of the book from Bloom Books. All review opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved this book. Honestly even better than the first, but I loved the first one too. There was so much development in the plot while also giving a lot of background information that tied the whole story line together. I really loved Memnon’s character development and Selene’s strength. Overall was really really pleased with this and I’m so excited for the rest of the series!

Another masterpiece by Laura Thalassa. This series is how I found her and I am continuously impressed by everything of hers I read

Dnf unfortunately! Loved the first one but just couldn’t get into this one. I own the physical so I may try again!

This sequel, it was everything I needed after the first book!! I mean we still have SO MUCH mystery, there’s little breadcrumbs but omg!! I adore Laura’s writing, her books draw me in and keep me on the edge of my seat, gripping my attention until it’s finished and I’m left staring at the wall with a WTF look on my face (IN THE BEST WAY, of course!!)
This picks up immediately after Bewitched, and, as with the first book, is full of delicious drama, fast paced action and fantastic spice!! This doesn’t mean Memnom and Selene are immediately lovers, trust each other or (in Selene’s case) like each other.
I love that we get so much of the backstory and info on the past in this book, we finally get some answers and they broke my heart, multiple times. But my goodness was the world building immaculate!!!!!! I was entranced when reading this, so much so I even ignored the puppy (sorry Alfie!!)
Selene is still an epically strong FMC who’s a force of nature!!!!!! I absolutely adored seeing her come into her own a bit more, whilst dealing with all the issues arising from the end of Bewitched and negotiating the rocky path that is her relationship with Memnon!!!! Memnon is still super morally dark, will k1ll for her, luscious and fabulous!!!! Even if he’s been a TERRIBLE guy I absolutely am head over heels in love with him!!!!
Overall, this book and series is fundamental proof of why I love Romantasy and why Laura is an absolute favourite author of mine!!

I wasn't aware this was a second installing of the series. I bought the first book but haven't gotten too it yet. Will probably change this review later, but for now I'll put it at 3 stars to be in the middle.

Wow, what an ending! Bespelled, the sequel to Bewitched, truly escalates the stakes and deepens the characters' journeys in a way I didn’t see coming. Selene and Memnon's powers are on full display, and their evolution is compelling to witness. I felt a bit of sympathy for Kane; he’s a good guy who genuinely cares for Selene, but it’s clear she’s not available.
Thalassa’s writing shines as we dive deeper into Selene’s powers and memories, revealing the tragic history between her and Memnon, including the truth about Roxiana’s sacrifice. Memnon’s transition from revenge to seeking forgiveness is beautifully portrayed as he strives to regain Selene's trust after his initial betrayal.
The mystery surrounding supernatural murders adds tension, especially with the formidable Fortuna family introduced as potential adversaries. The dynamic between Selene and Memnon shifts from enemies to a poignant second chance romance, with plenty of groveling from Memnon, who desperately tries to make amends for his past actions.
I loved the Touch Her and I’ll Unalive You trope in this book, with Memnon’s possessiveness adding a delicious layer to the plot. Selene’s character development is notable; she grows stronger in her magic and stands up for herself against overwhelming odds.
Beware, though—there’s a major cliffhanger that will leave you eager for the next installment! I’m giving Bespelled a solid 4.5 stars and can’t wait to dive into more of Laura Thalassa’s works. This series is a must-read for fans of paranormal romance, featuring sassy witches, overbearing sorcerers, and plenty of magic. Highly recommended!

Everything Laura Thalassa does is gold. The last book left me so eager for the next one - and this did not disappoint. We got some answers, and some more questions. It was fun, it was sexy, the pacing was excellent and it was truly delightful.

Although this one felt a tad haphazard to start it was worth the read and I have to say that this one was better than book one!! I can't wait for the next one.
