I was super excited to read this sequel after reading the first book. I enjoyed the first book a lot, and this one didn’t disappoint! Dare, I say, I might have liked this one a little bit more….It was fun, wild and entertaining! The pacing was great, I found I was able to get through this book quite quickly. It had me hooked and I found myself having a hard time putting it down. I look forward to reading the next book!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the ARC!

I started Bespelled at midnight after finishing Bewitched because I just KNEW I couldn't stop. I had a great time with this one. I was glad we got more background into the magic system and dynamics of what's not only happening with the coven and shifter pack, but back story on Memnon and Selene's prior relationship. The TENSION with these two. The GROVELING. I was so pissed at Memnon after Selene's reveal of what happened when she got her memories back - he needed to do some significant groveling, and thankfully, he did.
The plot took this in a different direction than I anticipated and I was truly on my toes the entire time reading this. The spice was on point, Memnon worshipped Selene. And that ending completely surprised me. I did not think that was where this was heading, so hats off to Laura for that.
Cannot wait for the next one!
Tropes/Elements:
- Forced proximity
- Enemies to lovers
- Fated mates
- Touch her and die
- Groveling and angst
- Morally grey, possessive MMC
- Second chance
Note: Thanks to NetGalley for providing an eARC. The decision to read/review was my own, and represents my honest opinion.
Big thanks to Netgalley and Laura Thalassa for the eARC in exchange for a review.
Once again, Laura throws us into her world with sexy romance, spell work, and mystery.
The second of the series and it gets much more in-depth for Selene and Memnon's past. There were openings for the next book and I cannot wait!
5 stars and I'll be anxiously waiting for the next one.
While I enjoyed the first book in the series, this book was phenomenal! I liked that it didn’t have insta-love and the main character’s relationship had to build and grow. The action was intense and brutal. I cringed a little at the descriptions of torture, it was a little much for me, but I understand that it was necessary to understand the levels of evil involved. There were so many twists and turns in the plot and it kept me guessing. I’m not sure about the Lycans and their role in the bigger story. They seemed kind of superfluous here, but maybe she’s just laying the groundwork for later installments. Overall a fantastic book!
Thank you so much to Bloom Books & Netgalley for providing an advanced copy of this! All thoughts and opinions are still my own.
I was so excited for this sequel after how much I enjoyed book 1 - and this was just as fun and entertaining as I'd hoped.
This series isn't necessarily anything groundbreaking to the fantasy romance genre. It follows a lot of the beats and tropes we all know and love. But with the fun setting, soul mates, and scheming, it's just such an addictive, fun read.
This picks up exactly where book 1 left off. And I was so glad we didn't have to wait for answers. I'm always nervous going into that middle book of a series that things will be drawn out for the conclusion. But that wasn't the case at all here.
We get answers to all of the questions left hanging after book 1 right away. And from there we get a top tier enemies to lovers romance with plenty of hate lust.
This book is series is definitely over the top, but I just love every wild second. And I can't wait for book 3!!
I was really excited to see where this book was going to go after book one, because the MMC kind of lost me if we’re being honest with all the cruelty. But I do feel like this book redeemed him in a mostly efficient way. I don’t really understand where book 3 might go, but I was very entertained and read this very fast! I would definitely recommend to fantasy romance readers. And we always love the spice ;)

“Call me a monster, call me a devil, but you and I both know I will f**king shatter the rules for you.”
“Neither magic, nor time, can keep us apart. We are like the stars. Eternal.”
Ain't that the truth! Witches, warlocks, and, wolfs oh my! After finishing Bewitched (Bewitched #1) we were dying to get our hands on Bespelled (Book #2). We really enjoyed book one, but have to say..we LOVED Bespelled! Wow! What a trip this was. Romantic fantasy, a kick arse witchy heroine and a commanding sexy sorcerer and boy did Selena and Memnon heat up the pages!
“We have toppled armies and slain enemies for each other. We are bold, wicked creatures, est amage.”
This book picks up after the ending of Bewitched and Laura Thalasso does an excellent job of getting us up to speed so we could dive straight into the adventure. This book is so detailed, so imaginative and so clever. We were engrossed from start to finish, and again…we NEED the next book NOW!
“We are eternal. If we cannot have this life, then we shall have another.”
Darkness and light, good and evil, and all the grey areas in between. Someone is murdering supernaturals, there is a deep soul mate love story that spans two thousand years, there’s heat, adventure, drama, suspense, and beautiful imagery in Bespelled. We were spellbound by Selene and Mamnon’s gripping love story. Where do we find us a wicked, sexy dirty talking Sorcerer? If you haven’t started the Bewitched saga yet, be sure to get stuck in! It’s fabulous!
Hello,
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. While I enjoyed the first book Bewitched, I did not enjoy this book, and I ended up not finishing up, as I struggled through the first half.. Because I did not finish this book, I would prefer not to post any review, as I don't think there is anything to gain from me doing so.
There were unfortunately too many things that just didn't work for me, and the dynamic between Memnon and Selene was one of the main one. It just made it really impossible for me to enjoy this book. It just felt like a totally different book from the first one, and it felt like many things were out of character for our main characters.
Once again, thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

I will forever love your writing Laura!
This book was perfection. I rated book 1 as a 4 star, and this felt like it was mlre rounded and I couldnt put it down, so 5 star!
Looking forward to the next instalment.
I was very pleased to read this second book of the bewitch series it is way better than the first one, Im not into fantasy that much but as long as it has romance in it I’m down! I love the characters and romance between them , it’s a really fun story!
The pacing for this second book is well done! The characters are astounding Laura put a lot of efforts for them to give us the feels! Thank you for writing this book 2! Really recommend to the romance readers out there for those looking for a great story as it is 5 stars✨️
I loved the first book, Bewitched, and this one did not disappoint either. I thought the plot was fantastic and kept me on my toes throughout. The romance and drama were so steamy and don’t get me started on the ending! I don’t know how I’ll make it until the next one!
Selene is a witch whose powers eat away her memories every time she uses magic. She keeps track of her life by journal keeping, a calendar, and tons of post it notes. In order to join the coven of her dreams she must go on a trip to really discover and connect with her powers. This lands Selene in South America via plane crash from another beings powers. As Selene follows the magic trail she finds herself a bad ass familiar but also releases Memnon the Cursed. Memnon believes Selene is his wife and soul mate from over 2000 years ago. When Selene makes it back home she is accepted into the coven, attending classes, enjoying parties with shifters, and finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. This story was really intriguing and funny at times. It did sort of leave off on a cliff hanger but I was lucky enough to get an eARC from Netgalley.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Highly recommend! If you love witches, werewolves, and maybe a bit of dark academia Bewitched will be right up your alley. There was a little bit of spice in it but it was more of a slow burn and not hyper focus on spice.
What a read! Bespelled by Laura Thalassa is the second book in the Bewitched series which follows a young witch and her soulmate as they work to stop a string of mysterious murders at her coven. Please note: there are spoilers to book one in this review. Read at your own risk. This book picks up almost immediately where book one left off. Selene is in jail for the murders, but also coping with the deluge of memories she now has. With the curse lifted, Selene can remember everything from this life and her past life. Turns out Memnon was partially right at least.
Selene’s character development is thrown on its head this book. Just as she was feeling comfortable in her own skin, she is now coping with memories she had long forgotten. Her anger at Memnon isn’t just for forcing her memories on her, but for the revenge he took on the wrong person. My heart broke over and over again for her as she remembers how much she once loved him and just how much she sacrificed to save him from his own arrogance.
Memnon’s attitude has entirely shifted. He is truly remorseful and willing to do whatever Selene asks to earn her forgiveness and trust. Don’t get me wrong, the guy is still ruthless and everything you’d expect from an ancient king and warlord, but he’s got a soft side. And it is this soft side that slowly grows on you.
The pace of this one is much faster than the first book. Bewitched really focused on laying the storyline down and letting you get to know Memnon. This book focuses more on the murders Selene was accused of and the budding relationship between them. I loved all the twists and unexpected surprises. Memnon’s relentless pursuit of Selene reminds me a little of Thalassa’s The Fallen World (if you haven’t read it, it is a MUST read) which means I love it all the more.
Overall, I devoured Bespelled. I loved all the answers that we get in this book as well as all the questions it raises. The spiciness is kicked up several notches in this one as well, so if that isn’t your thing, consider yourself warned. If you are a fan of high-stakes fantasy romance, I highly recommend it.
After LOVING Bewitched I was desperately awaiting Bespelled and Laura Thalassa did not disappoint me!! The banter and chemistry between Selene and Memnon continued to be top notch and when I say chemistry I mean, hot hot chemistry!! I loved how their relationship progress as they find ways to get used to each other again, making up for past wrongs throughout the book. The mystery, whodunnit aspect of the story had me engaged the whole way through as Selene and Memnon try to get to the bottom of what is happen at Henbane, risking their safety along the way.
I was super impressed by this book! The worldbuilding and story progression had me hooked from the beginning. I never felt like the story dragged. I absolutely adore the newly introduced characters, and I think the author has outdone herself with this one. I’m excited to read more!
Laura Thalassa has to most magical and poetic writing. Her stories are always captivating and beautiful. Bespelled is the second book in the Bewitched series, and I absolutely loved it. The romance and the connection between characters are always amazing. I adore Selena and the fantasy/magical elements in the story! Thank you NetGalley and bloom books for the arc. I have purchased a physical copy and it looks beautiful on my shelves.
4.5 stars
Bespelled is book 2 of the Bewitched series by Laura Thalassa. I would highly recommend reading book 1 before reading book 2.
This book was a ride! Book 1 ended on a wicked cliffhanger. Book 2 picked up right where book 1 ended. The first 40% of the book was a bit slow as Memnon and Selena rebuild their relationship in this new and modern world. I felt like the subplot of the dying witches added to the layers of the story especially as you discover the other characters involved in the spell circles.
As soon as that 60% mark hit, the action in the book kicked up and I couldn't book the book down. There were some many twists and turns that I didn't see coming leading up to the end. This book also ends in a cliffhanger but I didn't feel like this one was as bad as the previous book. I will absolutely be reading the next book. I can't wait to see what happens to Selene next.
It took me awhile to get into - I was not into it when I read it but I may try again when I’m in the mood.
