I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
I can’t get over how great the authors world building is and how much I love the character development in her books and her writing style and how much it makes the story so much more better then I thought it would be
Wow! This is the 3rd in this series and i'll say that there was so much action, adventure, mystery, romance, and emotion that just happened. The events that occurred in this book finally brought the climax I was hoping to feel throughout reading the entire series. I could picture this series as a movie.
Throughout this series I'd have to say that Eden and Yanric have been my favorite characters. Loved their character development as the series progressed. Fallon was a great main character, she stayed true to herself and showed great strength in multiple ways.
This is a great young adult fantasy series. I recommend to not only young adults, but adults who are new to fantasy.
Thank you to Netgalley, Leia Stone, and the publishers for this free ebook. This review is 100% my own and honest opinion.
This one was super good! It was really fast-paced and I read it quickly! I loved it and already can’t wait for the next one in this series!
What a story and a harrowing journey House of Light and Ether was. It was the wildest ride of them all. It was action packed and kept me at the edge of my seat. There were twists and turns that I saw coming but they didn't take away from my enjoyment of this book. There was some repetitive stuff that did take away from my overall enjoyment but I adored this book as a whole and definitely recommend it.
The House of Light and Ether by L. Stone, is a breathtaking finale to the Gilded City Trilogy. In this epic conclusion, Fallon’s struggle with her darkening powers reaches new heights, leading her to seek help from an unlikely ally, only to face betrayal in its worst form.
As the Nightling War looms, Ariyon must confront the depths of his commitment to save Fallon and protect those he loves. The stakes are higher than ever, and the conflict is more terrifying than anyone anticipated. Together, Ariyon and Fallon must give everything to save The Gilded City.
This final installment delivers a powerful blend of romance and fantasy, concluding the trilogy with intensity and emotional depth. A must-read for fans of the series, it offers a stunning wrap-up to an unforgettable journey.
3.5 stars/5
The last book was better than the second book, but I still feel it could be a bit more refined.
The dialogue was weird at times and the pacing was a bit too uneven. I liked that we got to learn more about Fallon's powers and her family, but I really don't like the fact that once she tries to uses them, she's pretty good pretty fast.
I liked the fact that Eden was more relevant in this book, but I feel she doesn't get enough credit.
SPOILER
I'm not sure how I feel about the whole fighting the death at the end and get Fallon back in the living realm. I think just letting her go to eternal peace would have been just as satisfying. Especially if we got an chapter that presented the reunion after many years have passed.
All in all, the series was quite satisfying, but not very impressive
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.
This was a pretty mid experience. I wouldn't say I hated this but it wasn't very good either. The dialogue seemed a bit too immature even for YA and I was annoyed by most of the characters. Towards the end I only wanted this to be over to be honest. It dragged on a bit too long and I found myself not caring anymore. I saw amazing reviews for this and I'm happy so many people enjoyed this so much but for me it just didn't cut it.
It was good. A little underwhelming considering the last two books. I didn’t much like how the plot was wrote or how the characters dialogue was. It was very teenager like.
I really enjoyed this satisfying conclusion to the Gilded City series- a super quick, fast-paced read with lots of action, but you definitely need to read the first two books as this is not a standalone.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy.
This was a great conclusion to this series, I did struggle a bit in the middle staying into the book, but I kept going. It was worth it. ❤️❤️❤️
The Cursed Girl, Fallon Bane, has gone dark. But as hard as Fallon tries to control her power, it only gets stronger. In a fit of desperation she asks for help from the most unlikely person and is wickedly betrayed in the worst way possible. Even inside her darkness, there has always been a becon of light for Fallon - Ariyon Madden. It's Ariyon's job now to see just how far he will go for the love of his life. As the Nightling War approaches, will both Fallon and Ariyon need to sacrifice it all to save The Gilded City.
House of Light and Ether was a perfectly acceptable ending to a great series. Keeping hold of the young feeling however, may have been the thorn in this series' side. While it is a YA Fantasy, it does feel very, very young at times - something that even younger teen readers have noticed around me. I feel as though there was a lot left unresolved, and we could have had just a touch more building and even then the series would have been more enjoyable. Unfortunately, this is a series that started really highly and then slowly declined. With all that said, Gilded City was still a fun read with lots of drama and action. I do have to say, Yanric has been my favourite character the entire series! He was a hilarious addition to help lighten what could have been a darker read.
This is perfect for those who love;
- Dark Magic
- Twin MMC's
- Love Triangle (with an end)
- Academic Setting
Thank you to everyone involved for this advanced copy. House of Ash and Shadow is available now.
What a conclusion to this amazing series. The characters are so real, the story so unbelievably good, some of the best writing I’ve ever read. The ending was brutal, so emotional and gut wrenching. Just wow
This series was a fast paced, young adult romantasy book with similarities to Jennifer
Armentrout books. It included a slow burn romance that kept me on my toes and had me rooting
for the two main characters throughout all of the ups and downs in the story. After the first book,
which is told almost entirely in Fallon’s perspective, the second and third include more
perspectives, switching mostly between Fallon and Ariyon which brings more depth to the story.
Normally romantasy books don’t bring me to tears, but the emotion Leía Stone brought into this
series had me tearing up as I was reading the final book. Another thing of note about this series
that I enjoyed was that it didn’t have a picture perfect ending which was refreshing. This is a
perfect young adult or teen read because the spicyness is kept to a lower level. Overall, I really
enjoyed reading all about Fallon Bane and her story which demonstrates how important it is to
be kind even if people judge you and to always be true to yourself.
This is the last novel in the Gilded City trilogy. Fallon has become dark, and in order to save the kingdom, she will have to give up her life to do so. The story is her journey of preparation for the upcoming war with the Nightlings and the unwavering courage to do what she has to save innocents from death. Fallon is determined to save them and her loved ones, no matter the cost.
Good story, I am rating 4 out of 5 stars. As a fresh reader to the series, and with no background on the prior two novels, I would have liked more in the beginning to help me get up to speed with the story. I was able to as the story progressed, but it took some time.
The author wrapped up the series well, very nice and neat.
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Leia Stone is my newest one click author. Her writing is spectacular and her world building skills are top notch!
Amazing conclusion to the series!
House of Light and Ether is the third and final book in the Gilded City series. I truly enjoyed this book as Fallon struggles to keep her sanity and stay good as the dark consumes her soul. Everything she feels, cares about or loves is disappearing from her mind. Her deepest pain is her inability to be touched due to her curse and this makes the suffering all the harder because she can’t even take comfort or solace in her friends and family. Until Ariyon, who can touch her without causing her pain. A man with an amazing ability to heal the sick so powerful he can even barter for the lives of those recently fallen. Ariyon loves Fallon to the ends of the earth even willing to share her darkness and giver part of his healing power to keep her sane.
Now can she defeat her evil mother and save her lands from falling to the dark kings. Oh and definitely due in the finely battle by willing a soul blade that will kill her. Fallon totally has this or maybe not. But either way she refuses to let her friends and family die even if it means she must sacrifice herself. Such a great read!
I received this ARC before realizing it was part of a series. I've read the first two books most of the way through the third. While I like the premise, it's just a bit too young adult for me. I will DNF it at about the 75% mark for now. However, I do plan to restart the series and give it another go at a later date. I'm marking it as 4 stars because the story was very good otherwise.
Thank you to The Publisher SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books | Bloom Books ,The Author Leia Stone & NetGalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.
I’m going to keep this review short and sweet - I absolutely loved this entire series and the conclusion did not disappoint! The ending was exquisite.
The story was action-packed, filled with fantastic characters, good dialogue and a dash of romance. I do not wish to give anything away, but I can assure any potential readers that I have no hesitation recommending the series. This story included just about everything that I have come to love reading YA fantasy.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for a digital arc of the book. The opinions expressed are honest and my own.
