“Sometimes we had to lie to ourselves in order to survive.”

“House of Light and Ether,” by Leia Stone

I loved this entire series! This is the third book in the Gilded City series. I absolutely love the relationship between Fallon and Ariyon. The internal battle of goodness and darkness within her kept me glued to the pages. I know since its book three that she really is good hearted and wants to do the right thing, but her magic is dark, and it eats away at that goodness. I loved everything about this book. A perfect YA fantasy romance, 5 out of 5 stars. Leia Stone’s books are always so good and I’m happy this one was the same quality.

What a fantastic fluffy fantasy!! It was a lovely fast paced easy read but boy does it have some unexpected twists and what an ending! I actually ended up purchasing paperbacks of these lol. If you want to dip your toes into the fantasy genre but aren’t sure where to start this could be a great one for you. There isn’t too much excessive world building that it gets too complicated and the characters are all really likeable. I highly recommend giving this book a go!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stars

"House of Light and Ether" by Leia Stone is the thrilling conclusion to a romantic fantasy trilogy that has captivated readers with its richly woven world, complex characters, and the eternal battle between light and dark.

This final instalment does not disappoint, delivering a story that is both heart-wrenching and exhilarating, leaving readers with a satisfying sense of closure and a longing for more.

Fallon Bane, the protagonist whose struggle with her growing powers has been a central theme throughout the series, reaches a breaking point. In a desperate attempt to control her abilities, she seeks help from an unexpected source, only to be betrayed in the most devastating way. This betrayal pushes Fallon to the edge, threatening to extinguish the light within her.

Enter Ariyon Madden, Fallon's beacon of hope and the one person who can reach her when others cannot. Ariyon is faced with an impossible decision: how far will he go to save the girl he loves and the people he has sworn to protect? As the Nightling War looms, more terrifying than anyone could have anticipated, Ariyon and Fallon must unite their strength and sacrifice everything to save the inhabitants of The Gilded City.

Leia Stone's storytelling shines in this final book, with a pacing that is impeccable and filled with non-stop action. The final battle between the forces of light and dark is nothing short of epic, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The secondary characters, who have grown and evolved alongside Fallon and Ariyon, add depth and richness to the narrative, making the stakes even higher.

The book is a masterful blend of romance, fantasy, and adventure, perfectly suited for fans of young adult fiction. The conclusion is both unexpected and satisfying, leaving room for the possibility of future stories set in this enchanting world.

"House of Light and Ether" is a fitting end to a series that has enchanted me with its depth, complexity, and the enduring love between Fallon and Ariyon.

Leia Stone has crafted a tale that is not only entertaining but also thought-provoking, reminding us of the power of love, friendship, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.

This book is a must-read for anyone who loves a story that combines heart-pounding action with moments of tender romance, all set against the backdrop of a richly imagined fantasy world.

ARC Review of House of Light and Ether by Leia Stone
* * * * *
The finale has arrived! This trilogy ends with Fallon's strength and choices to save everyone in the Gilded City, ending the darkness, and maybe have a miracle.

Fallon's darkness growing.
She fights for control. She ignores the voices. She takes the pain.
All for them.
All for him.
Ariyon will do anything for her, even making a choice that could affect the both of them forever and make an epic twist in the war against Marissa Bane and the Nightlings.
Death. Resurrection. Love. Loss. Friendship. Sacrifice. Choice. Changing destiny.

This book gives us one epic ending. Through this journey, we are given the hardships at the very beginning in the hopes that it all works out in the end and everyone can live happy ever after in a long life. With Fallon's curse and Ariyon's own struggles due to his healer status, these two characters are the ones we pray for, which has you anxious to get to the ending.
Eden finally puts on her big girl pants. Fallon's father gets a little happiness. Ayden is his usual self. Our fabulous familiar is back and protective as ever. Other's have changed friendships or evolved. Other connections have detiorated, all for the better.
A fantastic romance series, one that proves why I love coming back to this author.

Thank you to Bloom, Leia Stone, and NetGalley for giving me an eARC of House of Light and Ether in exchange for my honest review.

House of Light and Ether is an outstanding conclusion to a marvelous series. This book picks up right where the last book left off, with Fallon having turned dark. Trying to save those she loves, Fallon has run away from the Gilded City, seeking help. However, that help does not come in the form that she expects it too. With the Nightling War fast approaching, it will take her friends, her family, her love Ariyon, and someone unexpected to help her face the battle to come.

There were points throughout this book where I was uncertain how this book would end up nicely and I was honestly worried that the ending would be rushed. But let me assure you, this book is really nicely paced. At the start of the book it feels daunting to know how much ground there is to cover to wrap up the series, but that ground is covered in a steady way. I appreciated how there were no easy answers or miracle solutions to the problems faced in this book. Every actions has a consequence, and that is something that Stone highlights throughout the series. I am truly going to miss these characters. I feel like I have witnessed them go on this terrific journey, and I am sad that it is now coming to an end. I hope one day Stone considers coming back to this world and giving up more stories from some of the other characters points of views. While Fallon and Ariyon's stories have been nicely wrapped up, I would love to get a book or two from another characters perspective. Is it necessary? No. But I am not ready to let go of this world and these characters just yet.

The House of Light and Ether by L. Stone, published by Sourcebooks, Bloom Books, is the epic conclusion to the Gilded City Trilogy.
Blurb:The unthinkable has happened, Fallon has gone dark.
As hard as she tries to control her power, it only gets stronger. In a fit of desperation she asks for help from the most unlikely person and is betrayed in the worst way possible.
But there has always been a bright spot in Fallon’s life, someone who can reach her even when others can’t.
Ariyon must decide just how far he’s willing to go to save the girl he loves and the people he has pledged to protect. For the Nightling War approaches, and it’s more horrifying than anyone could have imagined.
Together Ariyon and Fallon must give all that they are to save the people of The Gilded City.
The final book in the stunning romantic fantasy trilogy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this arc.

This was a quick read for me- I loved it as much as the other two! Leia Stone has quickly become one of my favorite fantasy authors!

I tried to get into this one but just couldn’t. It felt like obstacles got fixed in several pages, the characters didn’t stand out to me and sometimes the way people reacted was farfetched. The story definitely had a good pace but I wasn’t a fan of much else. Clearly I am in the minority as it seems many people enjoy this series. I just wasn’t able to remain interested in the story. 2.5 stars.

First of all I love how quick and easy this was to read! I’ve been reading a lot of long fantasies lately and really needed something shorter like this! I loved it and the conclusion to the story was everything.

The novel tells the story of a group of people who are connected by a mysterious house. The house is located in a remote part of Scotland, and it is said to have strange powers. The people who come to the house are all looking for something, whether it is love, redemption, or simply a place to belong. The novel is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the characters and their stories. The second part follows the characters as they come to the house and experience its strange powers. The third part resolves the story and reveals the secrets of the house. House of Light and Ether is a well-written and engaging novel. Mitchell's prose is lyrical and evocative, and he creates a vivid and atmospheric world. The characters are well-developed and sympathetic, and the plot is suspenseful and unpredictable. One of the things that makes House of Light and Ether so special is its exploration of the nature of reality. The novel asks questions about what is real and what is not, and it challenges the reader to think about the nature of their existence. House of Light and Ether is a thought-provoking and ultimately uplifting novel. It is a story about love, loss, and redemption, and it is a testament to the power of the human spirit.
