Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved being back Beamer street and meeting up with the characters.

We meet new characters, Elodie arrives with her daughter. She’s also hiding something, which she doesn’t want known to anyone. Her daughter is her main concern and she needs to protect her.

I can’t wait to see how their story progresses.

I recommend this book.

Set in 1916 England and beyond, Lady Elodie Caraway is a heroine to cheer for.

Resilient and courageous, she escapes her marital home and I couldn’t help but hope for a brighter future for her and her daughter. As for the villain, Lord Caraway is as dastardly as they come, demonstrating the writer’s skill at creating memorable and engaging characters.

I also loved the author’s writing style including her description of 1926 Liverpool. There was palpable tension balanced between kindness as Elodie paved a life in her new city.

Worth mentioning, not knowing how people actually spoke back then, the dialogue between characters sounded authentic and I enjoyed the interactions.

I gravitate toward stories about women recreating themselves and combined with the historical aspect, I really enjoyed this.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for my advance copy due to publish on May 9, 2024.

Great to catch up with the residents of Beamer street old and new.
Debbie and her daughter Elodie are healers using the natural herbs to make tonics to help people. But when Debbie is called to the lady of the manor she’s been called to late and can’t save her. The lord is slowly going mad after he loses his wife and unborn son he blames the healer and wants retribution.
Elodie reaches 16 she’s happy with the Gardner of the manor pledging themselves to each other when he returns from war. But she comes home to find her world turned upside down. The war ends and she ends up fleeing to Beamer street where she is welcomed by all.
Great to see all the residents again and catch up with their lives. Can’t wait for another instalment.

A safe haven on Beamer street, the 2nd book in the series, and a great follow up. The story catches up with Molly and Mary Jane, and also introduces Elodie, a young woman who turns up in Beamer Street with her young daughter, Elodie is hiding a secret which no one must know about, she must keep her daughter safe. A great book and really hoping for a 3rd book in this great series. ⭐️

A beautiful, fast flowing story of Elodie Kirrin who has been brought up by her mother Deborah, known locally as the healer with her use of herbal remedies. When local gentry, Lord Silas Caraway decides that he’d have Elodie as his wife to produce the son he so desperately wants, Deborah wants to protect her daughter, feeling she is too young, this just serves to anger the man, at what cost!
When Elodie makes good her escape to Beamer street with the help of her friend Aiden who takes her to his Aunt Molly’s house she could never know the friendship and caring of the residents. With the odd exception of course.

It was lovely to join old characters, Molly, Mary Jane, and Ina who provides her own entertainment
It was interesting hearing what each herb is used for.

As there was a new family moving in I hope this signals another book!
