This book was so exciting! It was full of secrets. The excellent pacing made it very addictive. The twists were great, leading to an amazing ending!
How did I forget to review this?! I read it ages ago but it was so good that I'm pretty sure I can review it as clearly now as I could after 1st reading it. It was easily one of the best books I've read this year. The characters are amazing, strong, capable women which is a very nice change. The plot is so masterfully written and paced out with really good twists and turns. The tension is built throughout the book and its one of those that feels like you are right there in the middle of it all alongside the characters. Amazing

This book helped me escape reality during some not so fun times! My favorite thing about books definitely. If you’re looking for an intriguing and engaging game of cat and mouse, Blind Spot’s got you covered! I was getting some Agatha Christie vibes while reading this one and was thrilled to read author’s afterward and have her mention Agatha right away!!!
An overworked single mom and assistant DA! A mysterious and creepy stalker! Family secrets! Old and new friendships! Teen daughter with her issues…
I empathized with Rachel’s passion & commitment to her work. And her desire to find answers on her own - Rachel is no one’s damsel in distress! I fully credit my childhood exposure to Agatha Christie for figuring out the villain early but the story itself and all the pieces being uncovered were enough for me to be in a “but just one more chapter” mode while reading!

A huge thank you to Puzzle Box Press & @netgalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Blindspot is a fast paced thriller that you'll be reading late into the night. I had to finish the book after starting it last night and it's now 2 a.m. Yes, that's the sign of a great book! This book will have you hooked from the start and you'll find yourself racing through it to get the answers you need! What an awesome book by Maggie Smith! I am now a huge fan and will read anything she writes.
Rachel Matthews is a prosecutor in the district attorney's office, is a single mother raising a teenage daughter, and lost the love of her life when she was very young. Rachel has a stalker who is calling her with hateful messages, sending flowers, following her, vandalizing her home, and threatening her and her daughter. She tries to handle things on her own, but when the threats involve her daughter she goes to the police. The police can't help very much, but say they'll look into it. Rachel gets an alarm system for her home and decides to hire a private investigator that her brother has used before.
As Rachel comes into contact with some new "friends" you will be wondering who the stalker is and what they want with Rachel? When the demand for money comes, it was only a matter of time. Pay the money or your daughter will be taken and injured. Should Rachel agree to the terms, report it to the police, let the investigator know? This book is high intensity from beginning to end. I don't often read a book this fast, but I couldn't put this book down. I rate Blindspot 5 stars with my very highest recommendation. Blindspot is now available and should go to the top of your TBR list! Trust me on this! I'd like to thank NetGalley, Maggie Smith, and Puzzle Box Press for an advanced copy of Blindspot in exchange for a fair review. #Blindspot
This book was wild! Maggie, my dear, you are a brilliant writer and now that I've finished this amazing tale, I will go back and read your previous novels.
In Blind Spot, the characters were well written and the storyline made me feel as if I were living right alongside Rachel, Charley and all the other amazing characters. Finding out who the stalker was blew my mind!
OMGGGG! This book was such a gripping and intense, edge-of-you-seat thriller! I was excited by the blurb, but I had no idea what kind of roller coaster ride I would be in for. Rachel is a district attorney and a single mother to a teenage girl. Rachel is very focused and dedicated to her job. She is a very busy woman that is accomplished and is in the running for a promotion. As if she needs something else to deal with, she finds out that she has a stalker. The police aren't moving as fast and efficiently as she would like them to, so she hires a private investigator, and launches her own investigation. Rachel refuses to let her stalker get the best of her.
From the beginning, the pace of this book is a speeding car. It starts off with an clever prologue, and I was presented with clever writing until the end of the book. On top of brilliant writing, the twists and turns were jaw dropping. Just when I thought I had it figured out, a twist would happen that made me gasp. The characters were well developed, especially Rachel. It was great getting to know her. I was rooting for her the whole way through the book. A brilliant, fast paced and gripping thriller that I definitely recommend.
Thank you NetGalley and Puzzle Box Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Blind Spot was a bit of a slow burn for me that picked up part of the way through. Then I didn’t want to put it down! Though, I will say, that opening chapter, WOW. What a way to start a book! It was a very interesting plotline, an assistant district attorney has a stalker that ends up dead and she is framed for his murder. There is good character development in this book. Of course, there were unlikeable characters. But what's a book without them? I was suspicious of everyone! I enjoyed getting glimpses of the past just so we could better understand the present. I felt the anxiety and tension Rachel had as she tried to navigate everything while still keeping herself and her daughter safe. And it just amped up as the book went on! There were a few twists that I did not see coming. Overall, this was a good book that I enjoyed. If you love legal thrillers or suspenseful novels, this is the book for you!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Blindspot by Maggie Smith
This was a fast, binge worthy quick and easy read. This one kept me on the edge! Maggie did a great job with this Psychological Thriller! The book has so many details I felt like I was watching a movie in my head as I read! Suspenseful twists and turns with an unexpected ending!
Definition of blindspot is an area where a person's view is obstructed.
Some people's lives get so busy they think they have everything covered. They don't keep their guard up because they don't think they have any blindspots to worry about. Trust me, everyone has a blindspot even if they don't realize it.
Rachel Matthews has a nice flow to her life. She loves her job working as an Assistant District Attorney, mom to her daughter, Charley and social life mixed with her book club and various social outings. Then the notes and calls start as she wonders who her stalker is.
Maggie Smith did a great job on writing a psychological suspense novel! She had me guessing all throughout the book and thankfully answered all of my questions by the end, even having me realize she pulled a fast one on the reader when we thought we knew everything.
Thank to you NetGalley, Puzzle Box Press and Maggie Smith for the ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to read more of her books.
All thoughts and reviews are of my own accord.
"We all have blind spots. It's hard for us to see the truth about those we love. It's only when someone shines a light on what's really going on behind the maks that any of us can see clearly."

MY REVIEW:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Now yall KNOW I love a good legal thriller, and this one did NOT disappoint! This one had me guessing til the very end! The writing had me so entranced that I couldn't pull myself away from this book.
Who knew being an assistant district attorney in Wisconsin, of all places, (whoot whoot loved reading a book from my home state) would be so dangerous?! You don't know who's making a love connection, who's doing something on the DL, and who is just downright evil....
This just shows how blood isn't always thicken than water, and you never know who you can trust.
Make sure to grab this one ASAP!

for a digital copy of this book. The opinions are my own and freely given.
Rachel is a successful prosecutor in the DAs office. She is also a single mother. She has never told her daughter, Charley, the true story about her father. One night by chance Rachel meets Olivia and they become friends. However, Olivia's husband gives Rachel the creeps and her daughter has also clung onto Olivia. By chance, she runs into her high school crush, Max, who is also a former cop turned private investigator. Rachel has been getting phone calls, strange notes on her car, and has been followed. She asks Max to find out who is behind all this, and then one day she gets a call threatening Charley in exchange for ransom.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the characters to the storyline. I will admit, I was a little disappointed in Rachel that she tried to take matters into her own hands with the ransom instead of going to the police, but I thankfully have never been in that situation, and hey this would have shortened the book if she had. I don't have anything bad to say about this book, the little twist at the very end was a surprise.
I went into this one somewhat blind which always makes for a better reading experience in my opinion! Rachel, the MC, is a likable and relatable character who presents herself as a well-established prosecutor with a bright future. She’s a single mom with a secret but seems to keep calm when confronted with a potential stalker. That is until her teenaged daughter becomes a target.
The author did a phenomenal job of throwing me off the scent of the perpetrator while constantly making me second guess myself! Rachel also pushed my nerves to the limit at times making decisions that someone in her position shouldn’t be making but that’s what makes this such an entertaining read!
I read and enjoyed the author's previous book, Truth and Other Lies, so I was excited to read this one through Thriller Book Lovers - The Pulse! The story follows Rachel Matthews, who works as a prosecutor in the District Attorney's office in Milwaukee. As you might imagine, her job is very high pressure and high stakes. She is a single mother in her late thirties and her daughter is about to finish high school. Rachel is strong, diligent, and hardworking, but too often this is to the detriment of her relationship with her daughter.
At the beginning, we learn there has been a murder, but we're not sure who has died or who has perpetrated it. I like how the story starts out with high stakes. Soon after we meet her, Rachael starts being stalked by a mystery man. The stalker keeps upping the ante, but we're not sure what their end game is or why they're doing it. Smith does a wonderful job of building suspense. When her daughter is threatened, she agrees to meet her stalker to give them money, but they end up dead. She flees the murder scene, fearing for her own safety. When she's arrested and caught up in a murder trial, she starts to realize the justice system is not as black and white as she previously assumed. Early on, I had guessed some of the mystery, but not the why of it. There were some unexpected twists at the end that were very satisfying. I'd recommend if you're looking for a fast-moving thriller with some unexpected twists.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.
OHHHEMMMGEEE! When I first read the synopsis for Blindspot, I knew I was going to be in for quite a ride. What I DIDN’T realize was that it was going to be an edge of your seat, nerve-tingling thriller from beginning to end. From its fast pace and complex plot to a truly dynamite narrator, there wasn’t a thing not to love. And the twists! What can I say? They redirected my sleuthing time and time again. That’s not to say that I didn’t figure out a few little pieces to the puzzle. Even that, though, couldn’t stop my ardent admiration for both the book and Ms. Smith herself.
Speaking of those characters, each of them were thoughtfully constructed and played an important role in a plot that had definite Hitchcockian and Agatha Christie-esque vibes. True-to-life despite a few somewhat melodramatic moments, I connected with Rachel right off the bat. Even her character arc was simply sublime. But the hairpin turns and deftly laid red herrings were what really made this book sing. They turned what could have been a straight forward tale of revenge into one heck of a rollicking good time filled to the brim with foreboding and suspense.
All in all, Maggie Smith utterly knocked this one out of the park. If you loved Kill for Me, Kill for You or just want a propulsive thriller to sink yourself into, this is your book. With a mind-blowing game of cat-and-mouse, short chapters, and a flawlessly played climax, I read this one cover to cover in just a single sitting. After all, it was everything I wanted and more. Addictive, unputdownable, and binge-worthy in the extreme, you simply HAVE to add Bindspot to your TBR now. I guarantee that you won’t regret it in the least. Rating of 4.5 stars (upgraded).
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.
Wow, this debut author hits the ball out of the park her first time at bat!

One can only hope to see more of her work in the future, as undoubtedly her more exciting tales with which to capture our hearts and our imagination.
Rachel has everything she wanted going for her. She has accomplished the career she always wanted with potential for a promotion in the near future, her daughter will be off to college soon and she is happy being single. So when odd things start happening and she realizes she has a stalker on her hands, with all the cases she has tried that suspect list is a mile long. As this stalker gets more brazen, Rachel starts to feel the affects. Her daughter is even more of a handful than a normal teenager, she is slipping with minor things at work, and no matter what she does, the stalker is always a step ahead. With the help of an officer she knows, and an old high school friend turned PI, Rachel knows it will only be a matter of time before they figure out who it is. She has the suspect list narrowed down, but when she finds herself front and center to a murder and then the cuffs are slapped on her wrists she knows she only has a matter of time to find out who is doing all of this and why? This was a great thriller of a read and I might be a bit biased with it being based in my home state. Loved this one! Looking forward to more from her. Thank you to the author for the complementary novel.

Blindspot by Maggie Smith is an intense psychological Suspense thriller with jaw-dropping twists! It captured my interest straight away and halfway through I couldn't flip the pages fast enough to find out what the hell was behind all this chaos!
This thriller made me suspicious of everyone so who to trust?
All in all great characters and realistic mother and teenager struggles.
An eye-opening clarity of how unprotected stalker victims are! There should be some more protection in place!
A successful and busy lawyer Rachel in the district attorney’s office is on her way to being promoted. She works hard and is positive that she knows the system inside out. When an unexpected stalker starts to threaten her and her daughter she feels vulnerable and unprotected as there is nothing that could be put in place to protect her. Even more, she finally learns that not everything is black and white when she is arrested on suspicion of murder.
Thank you, NetGalley and Puzzle Box Press for this copy, it made me bite my nails and breathe deeply!
I love legal thrillers and this one was great! I was so sure I knew how everything would wrap up and then I was wrong. And then there was a great twist at the end! A great book!
May 21st. Write that down. Circle it. Now underline it twice.
THAT, my friends, is the date that this five star thriller by @maggiesmithwrites publishes. If you know me, you know that I am very stingy with my five star ratings. Out of the 39 books I’ve read this year, I have only handed out six, and this book was absolutely deserving of one. I’d you don’t believe me, you can ask any of my esteemed colleagues at @thrillerbookloversthepulse and they’ll tell you the same thing.
