I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
An ‘enemies to lovers’ and ‘grumpy/sunshine’ book that will leave you grinning. A sweet romance with the perfect amount of steam!
Andrea is spending the last few weeks with her best friend before her best friend gets married. Everything is great until, an appearance is made by Kyle, Andrea's ex and the best man in the weeding. Now Andrea and Kyle have to act civil towards each other to make sure the wedding goes off without a hitch.
Andrea and Kyle pull you into their lives with the dual POV's, and you feel for both characters. Loved the book and the story.
I received this ARC from NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review.
This was my first book by this author and what a delightful read! Andrea and Kyle dated a long time ago and then he broke her heart. Now, they are both attending their best friend's wedding and find themselves in each other's orbit again. Kyle shocks Andrea when he tells her he still loves her, and she doesn't know what to do with that. Her heart still loves him, but her mind is telling her she can't trust him.
This was a sweet, second chance, wholesome romance that was a delight to read. The characters were well-crafted and likable and I enjoyed following their story and found myself rooting for their happy ending, and I was not disappointed! A light and easy read that will leave you with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart. Very charming!
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The tension in this book is palpable, though as a warning it is a clean romance. I loved both Andrea and Kyle's characters. You can't help but understand and feel for both of them throughout the story. This was quite an emotional book. Tissues were needed at some points. But it does come with a beautiful ending.
What can I say this one was kind of your typical second chance romance. But sometimes you just need to read something that is going to be predictable.
Enemies to lovers is probably one of my favorite tropes (along with grumpy/sunshine), and this book had both! Grumpy and sunshine weren't who you would think though!
Ugh the one part that just pulled at the heart strings - you were the hurricane who reshaped her entire world.
That line was absolutely beautiful, powerful, and honestly, something that I could relate to with my past too, except he didn't get a second chance.
This was such a light and easy read.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my DRC in exchange for my honest review.
Overall this was not my favorite book.
The plot of the book has a lot of potential. Rekindling an old flame with a forced proximity troupe is one of my favorite. However over all writing style of this book was not good for me. Everything was pretty choppy and it made reading a major struggle.
I received this book for free from netgalley.
This is a second chance love story.
When writer Andrea, the maid of honor at her best friends wedding, is asked to come two weeks early to help with planning, she's hesitant. Andrea dated the brides brother, Kyle, two years ago before he left her in the middle of the night with just a note. She was destroyed that their two years together meant nothing to him. With Tina promising Andrea that Kyle isn't expected until the day before the wedding, Andrea agrees to come.
That all changes when Kyle decides to show up early to do his best man duties. He's surprised to see Andrea again, realizing that he's still in love with her. Now he just needs to show her.
But she's not open to his affections after the way he destroyed her. She rebuffs him at every gesture.
Is it a lost cause?
I couldn't get past the first two chapters--I didn't like the writing style and the concept was so cheesy and unrealistic.
I’m not big on second chance romance, but this read was quick and light. I loved the fact that Andreas dogs name is Axel. That’s my Great Danes name. I didn’t feel like this book was rushed or overly sweet. I did feel like Kyle was a huge jerk in the beginning and really didn’t like the way he was treating Andrea, but he did have some character growth, so that’s a positive.

Short summary - Andrea and Kyle dated back in the day. Their best friends are now marrying each other and they are in the same place for two weeks. He tells her that he still loves her, and we get to see them making up and getting back together.
Andrea brings her dog, Axel, on the trip and early in the book he is missing. Kyle of course rushes to help her find him, and they do fairly quickly. They take him to the vet and make sure that he’s good to go, but he just drops her off to go run an errand. Andrea seemed a little perplexed by that and I think it was adorable that she really just wanted him with her.
The much anticipated I love you from Kyle comes at 72%. This book is short, sitting at 249 pages. I’m a little confused with the fact that Andrea still carries a photo in a frame of the two of them, that’s not normal if you’re as mad at someone as she was in the beginning of this book.
My favorite part of this book has to be the fact that Kyle paid for Axel to come to the wedding and bought a tuxedo for him.
Overall this book was okay. It fell flat for me though and I wished that it would have been able to be fleshed out a little more than it was. Addiction is a theme in this book that I wish would have been talked about more between our FMC & MMC.
#NetGalleyARC I like a good, sweet romance but this one didn’t do it for me. With the first chapter I had a feeling this wasn’t going to be the book for me, the writing style was just too wordy and too sweet. I don’t need all my romance books to be dark and gritty but this one was just lacking for me.
I loved this book! It kept my attention the whole time and I could not put it down. I loved the story and the romance.

This was a sweet story and it had the beginnings and maybe the bones of a good book. However I found the writing to be weak and underwhelming. It felt like it was written for more of a YA audience. The way the characters spoke to each other was unnatural. The use of the term “baby girl” between the best friends and then between the main characters felt weird and unnatural and gave me a bit on an “ick.”
The storyline progressed quickly, it’s not a long book and an easy quick read. But every conflict was met with a very quick and easily solved solution. The biggest challenge was whether the exes would get back together. She was hesitant because of his past actions but they seemed to just talk in circles.
He had a real authentic life problem, struggling with PTSD from military service and the alcoholism that he used to cope. But rather than ever really come clean and explain the roots of his issues to her, which in my opinion would have been more authentic and meaningful, he just kept apologizing and saying he loved her, like that was good enough.
Overall it was cute, but it felt underdeveloped with no real character building or development. If you want a quick easy read with a predictable story line, this will work, but I’m sorry to say, if you’re looking for depth, it’s not here.
This was such a surprise. It was cute and fast paced and I liked both the hero and the heroine. My problem was perhaps with the writing, sometimes it felt too juvenile almost. But overall it was a really nice read.
I thought this book was decent. There were points that the POVs sounded like they were the exact same person and was confusing to differentiate. Overall it was a good read but had minor issues. Kyle and Andrea were sweet and I can appreciate that this dealt with mature topics in a sweet romance.
I got this from Netgally in exchange for an honest review.
I rate this book a 3.5. I thought that it was a really nice cozy romantic read. It is short and a fast read. I do like the dual POV. This is my first cozy romantic read and I enjoyed it. A couple times I found myself tearing up because of how hard Kyle was trying to prove his love to Andrea. Overall I enjoyed this book.
Thank you, NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review
This book was a cute read! It was fast-paced, and it was short.
I do feel like this book had very juvenile writing. Some of the plot points didn't make much sense, like how Axel, her dog that she had for 5 years, didn't react to our MMC? maybe it's nothing, I just thought it was weird.
Would recommend it if you want a cute little filler book to read
Thank you to Netgalley and Abby Greyson for this ARC of ‘Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex’.
Luckily I’d already purchased this before the price went back up as I hadn’t downloaded it due to being unwell for a few weeks. With that being said I always like to follow up with my reviews.
This book was just brilliant. It was sweet, fun and I think Kyle and Andrea are made for each other. This is not my first read by this author and will definitely not be my last.
