Thank you, NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review
This book was a cute read! It was fast-paced, and it was short.
I do feel like this book had very juvenile writing. Some of the plot points didn't make much sense, like how Axel, her dog that she had for 5 years, didn't react to our MMC? maybe it's nothing, I just thought it was weird.
Would recommend it if you want a cute little filler book to read
Thank you to Netgalley and Abby Greyson for this ARC of ‘Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex’.
Luckily I’d already purchased this before the price went back up as I hadn’t downloaded it due to being unwell for a few weeks. With that being said I always like to follow up with my reviews.
This book was just brilliant. It was sweet, fun and I think Kyle and Andrea are made for each other. This is not my first read by this author and will definitely not be my last.
*I did get this from NetGalley but all opinions are my own*
This was the story of Kyle and Andrea. They were once together until he broke her heart. They reconnect at Tina's wedding, Tina being Andrea's best friend and Kyle's sister. They both realize they still have feelings for each other but Andrea is hesitant because she remembers how he broke her heart the first time.
This book was like jamming five plot points into a book that none of which were fully fleshed out. Like if you took out the shopping with Tina (because no other bridesmaid or character was talked about at all it just felt kind of random), the secret admirer, one of the times of Kyle fighting another man, I think the book would flow better. Coming from a GenZ, I think the target audience for this book is definitely a millennial. Personally, I thought the dialogue was cringy and gave me a hardcore ick for everyone involved. I also wish the reason for the breakup was not like 5 seconds into the book. I feel like it could have been used as a way to slowly reveal the the reason that they broke up while showing that they were also still trying to fight to be together or not.
Overall, it was a quick romance read, but I would personally not read it again.
This was a cute story! I loved the dual POV and the banter that Kyle and Andrea had. It was the right mix of sad, happy, funny and couldn't put down!
Andrea and Kyle are exes and need to spend the run up to their friend and sister’s wedding together. Kyle absolutely gutted Andrea when he left her, proper smashed her heart into bits. This makes it so hard to feel empathy for him and his behaviour as it come across a little one dimensional. He wants Andrea back however doesn’t seem to get why she might be upset. The plot is a little too lacking in depth for me, although some lovely moments and the very loveliest dog come bridesmaid.
This book was so good! I ate this book up. The story was so cute and I absolutely loved the romance and the banter was top tier.
A delightful romance novel that had me hooked from the very first page. Andrea's journey as the maid of honor for her best friend's wedding takes an unexpected turn when her ex, Kyle, re-enters her life. Despite their complicated history, the chemistry between them is undeniable. What I loved most about this book was the way it balanced humor, heart, and a dash of swoon-worthy romance. As Andrea navigates her feelings for Kyle and grapples with the possibility of a second chance at love, I found myself rooting for them every step of the way. With its charming small-town setting and lovable characters, Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex is the perfect feel-good read for anyone in need of a romantic escape.
I thought it would be a funny book to read and a second chance romance like many others.
But this is spezial and Kyle really has to fight to win Andreas heart back.
He left her two years ago, only left a notice.
Andrea is a writer but has problems with her new story.
Great characters and a very emotional story.
Have fun reading!
What sets "Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex" apart is its realistic portrayal of love and relationships. Greyson does not shy away from depicting the messy, complicated nature of romance, and she explores the challenges of rebuilding trust and overcoming past hurts in a believable and relatable way.
Overall, "Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex" is a captivating and heartfelt romance novel that will appeal to fans of the genre. With its well-developed characters, engaging storyline, and emotional depth, it is a story that will stay with readers long after they turn the final page.
Hold onto your hats, romance lovers, because Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex is about to take you on a wild ride! Picture this: a sassy maid of honor, a brooding bad boy ex, and a wedding that's about to get a whole lot more interesting. From the moment Kyle Monroe strutted back into Andrea's life, I knew this book was going to be a rollercoaster of emotions. But hey, isn't that what we love about rom-coms? Andrea's journey from heartbreak to hope had me cheering from the sidelines, and let me tell you, the chemistry between her and Kyle is hotter than a summer day in the desert. So if you're ready to laugh, swoon, and maybe even shed a tear or two, then do yourself a favor and start reading Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex today. Trust me, you won't regret it!
I wasn't expecting such a heart felt romance when I read the title of the book but I guess I was too quick to judge the book by its cover literally. The heartbreak was very touching and the narration was emotional. More importantly the second chance felt justified. One thing that I found a little odd (also weird) was the last chapter when the lead characters confess to each other their feelings and have a heartfelt moment, every single paragraph had their names. Both of them were calling the other person by their name before starting every single dialogue and I found it weird. Maybe it was just me. Going with a 3 star.
I love second chance romances. This was a fun and light read. It was enjoyable. Very much enjoyed Tina having Andrea’s back when Kyle wanted a second chance.
This was an easy read and a great way to indulge into a friendly romance. From the perspective of both Andrea and Kyle’s point of view this story came to life while touching on topics such as PTSD, addiction and abandonment.
When Andrea, a writer suffering from writers block had a wedding to attend, the work is not left at home. She brings it along with her as she enjoys the last few weeks with her best friend before her wedding.. or so she thought. Plans change when her ex becomes her next door neighbour at the guest house.
When push comes to shove, all that matters is her best friends big day and all other matters are put aside.. except for when her ex continues to insert himself into her life. With goodbye letters, love letters, acts of service and a couple strums of a guitar. These two were pushed to act civil to save the drama of her best friends wedding.
I want to start by thanking the author and publisher for the chance to read this book. I thought the book started out okay, but I felt like a quarter of the way through it started to drag in certain places and seemed to be a little choppy. It didnt seem to naturally flow and things like the dog missing/the vet visit were drawn out too much for me personally.
This is a very sweet romance about Andrea reconnecting with her ex boyfriend, Kyle, who happens to be her best friend’s brother.
While reconnecting in the weeks before her best friends wedding, Kyle tries to show Andrea he is sorry, and ready to get back together, While Andrea is still hurting from the heartbreak two years ago.
This story is short and sweet, and while I would have loved to get a deeper dive into their past relationship, it was the perfect quick read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review. Abby Greyson’s Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex is a sweet quick read. It is what some call closed door romance. I believe the author called it kisses only. Andrea is the maid of honor for her best friend’s wedding. Her ex is also in the bridal party, but Andrea isn’t told that. What’s worse than the heartbreak Kyle caused, he comes back and says I still love you. Andrea really wants to believe him, but she just doesn’t trust him. I really enjoyed this read.
I enjoyed reading Second chance with my bad boy ex. There wasn’t a lot of side character development with the story mainly revolving around Kyle & Andrea. Overall, I thought it was a cute, quick read.
I’m a bit conflicted with this book. It wasn’t terrible, but I felt mislead by the synopsis. Here’s what I mean:
We get mentions of him being her bad boy ex. The only bad boy image we get is the fact he left her. He didn’t even say it to her face; he just left a letter saying he was sorry. We later on get a clearer picture for why he left, but I would have loved to see some flashbacks to those days and why Kyle was so adamant about leaving and bettering himself.
The synopsis also says that Kyle tells Andrea that he still loves her. This doesn’t even happen until the 72% mark in the book. I thought this would happen earlier and the whole book would be about him proving himself to her and winning her back…that’s not exactly how it goes.
A huge aspect of the book is that Andrea is a writer and has writers block. This isn’t mentioned in the synopsis, and I think it does deserve a shoutout since it’s a huge part of Andrea’s personality.
We didn’t get to know the side characters too much. Maybe they are showcased in this author’s other books, so we’re supposed to be familiar with them already. I just felt like there was missing information that had me not fully feeling the chemistry or camaraderie of this group.
I said it before but I really would have loved some flashbacks of Andrea and Kyle. Not just the bad moments, but the good ones too. Why do they love each other? How did they officially meet? What was their first date like? I just wanted more to compete the picture.
*An ARC was received in exchange for an honest review.
This is a quick and sweet novella. I think the elements of great rom-com are in it, but the story needs a bit of reworking. Some parts of the story felt a bit repetitive. I did enjoy the dual POV.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher.

Okay so this book is not that bad and is a nice light read. The plot was okay in my opinion but the writing was juvenile if that’s the right word for it. The way the characters talk is so unnatural. People in real life do not talk like that. The prose also feels stilted. I find the characters likeable but I was kinda of annoyed at our FMC, Andrea because *spoilers* it was so obvious Kyle was the secret admirer?? Also, she had her dog, Axel for five years and Kyle has been in most of her life minus the last two years but it seems odd that Axel has no reaction towards Kyle.
