Rosie Walker has done it again! Her books captivate me because they blend heart-pounding thrills with a haunting realism, adding an extra kick. The unpredictability of the twists and turns made every moment enjoyable! Rosie deserves applause for another outstanding book!

In addition, if you liked this one, I suggest checking out “The Baby Monitor.” I loved that one too!

This book is easily top 5 book I read this year. Grabbed me from the beginning. I didn't read it as fast as I wanted because of life but every time I was sucked in. The progress and suspense was perfect. During the end I found myself literally in the book. I will be checking out more books from Rosie Walker. Easy 5 star read

What would you do if your husband's ex girlfriend came knocking on your door during your Christmas trip? Sadie hopes to work on her marriage while also providing a magical Christmas for her children. Everything changes when Alice shows up!

This book was very fast paced! It held my interest and I couldn't wait to see how it panned out. I did feel like it was a little bit choppy and the ending was a bit rushed. I did not see any of the twists coming though!

3,5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this in exchange for my honest review.

Short summary - Alice, Ted’s ex, shows up for Christmas at a remote cabin. There’s a massive storm outside and Alice eventually locks Sophie in the basement.

I absolutely consumed this book and it was super good! I didn’t know what to expect and didn’t see the twist coming - even though it should have been obvious! Give this a try if you love reading psychological thrillers.

My Husband's Ex had me hooked straightaway. The setting could not be anywhere better, a remote cabin in the Highlands, until an Ex and a storm throws a spanner in the works. From there the twists come thick and fast and I was not sure what to believe. I absolutely loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

This book kept me guessing, as soon as I thought I figured it out...nope! I couldn't put it down! The ending felt a little rushed for me, but besides that I was completely invested. I will definitely be looking more into what else the author has written.

My Husband's Ex by Rosie Walker is a gripping, atmospheric read that reeled me in immediately and did not let go.

Sadie, her husband Ted and their two young daughters are looking forward to spending Christmas at a remote lodge in the Scottish Highlands. Sadie is hoping that it will be a chance to relax and to reconnect with her husband. But a knock at the door will immediately alter the holiday mood when two univited guests arrive, and Sadie's plans for an old fashioned family Christmas quickly go off the rails.

If you are a fan of a tension-fuelled closed room mystery, you will absolutely devour this. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

A family Christmas trip to a secluded cabin, what could go wrong?? Turns out plenty can and does!

Sadie, her husband Ted and their two daughters are excited to spend a cozy Christmas together to try to work on their marriage.

From the beginning they are plagued with bad luck including running out of fuel, family showing up early, a pending storm and the clincher, an ex-girlfriend with her daughter in tow arrive to throw chaos into an already hanging on by a thread marriage.

The ex seemingly wants to take back what she feels should have been hers years ago. The twists and turns have you realizing things are not what they seem. The ending was a for sure jaw dropper.

An unfamiliar author to me, Rosie Walker won me over with this book. I definitely plan on reading her other books and if you've never read her before I highly recommend starting with this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of this book

Ex-Girlfriend by Rosie Walker and narrated by Helen McAlpine was excellent addictive psychological thriller from start to finish and I loved it. This was an audiobook that was full of twists and turns that will have you gripped this kept me guessing what is actually happening and why until the last chapter. I found it hard to turn this audiobook off and carried on listening to it when I was in bed! Before I knew it it was dark outside and my hubby was a sleep beside me!! Superb audiobook/book

The narrated by Helen McAlpine was excellent, I loved her Scottish accent and she spoke very clear and bought this book alive.

I highly recommend this book 5 Stars

This book is also called My Husband's Ex.

Sadie, Ted, and their two young daughters decide to spend Christmas in a remote cottage in the Highlands, but when the doorbell rings and Ted's ex-girlfriend shows up uninvited with a kid in tow; everything goes to hell.

Alice claims that she was invited by Ted through email. Sadie doesn't really know who to believe at this point. But when she catches Ted and Alice kissing later that night, she realizes that Alice's plans are coming to light. Alice's daughter is a child Ted had abandoned 14 years ago and never looked for.

Sadie is a therapist, yet she doesn't see any of his signs of abuse? I found that very hard to believe. She just kept brushing things aside for his benefit. But no man plays mind games for 12 years for fun!

When a storm hits the area hard, Sadie's plans on getting rid of Alice and her daughter vanish. But what's Alice's real goal here? To help or to harm?

Having previously read and enjoyed The Baby Monitor by Walker, I just knew that I was going to enjoy My Husband's Ex just as much.

There may be triggers for some, as one of the main themes through the book is manipulation. If you're able to overlook this, then you're in for one helluva ride.

I found myself casting doubt throughout at the reliability of the narrators, questioning who was telling the truth.

It's a moderately paced, enjoyable thriller that will mess with your mind, it certainly did mine. The tension is palpable, building with every turn of the page.

I was very confused because I downloaded this copy as titled "Ex GirlFriend" by Rosie Walker, and couldn't find where to submit my review. Just realized after redownloading that this was in fact the same book.

3.5 stars! I really liked it! Read if you like a locked room thriller. Quick, easy read. The beginning had a great set up, and was very suspenseful! I would have liked for there to be more clues to have figured out the ending! I wish it had made more sense in the end. It felt like an after thought and was slightly rushed. Thank you netgalley and bookouture for my ARC copy!

My Husband’s Ex by Rosie Walker is a psychological thriller with unexpected twists and turns at every turn of the page. Sadie wants to work on her marriage and decides a family holiday vacation is just what they need. What she never expected was her husband’s ex and her daughter. Now there is a storm and they are stuck. All of them. Together. Now secrets and lies are being unearthed. Who can Sadie trust? Ted, her husband. Alice, the ex? And what secrets is Sadie hiding? I could not stop turning the pages until the very unexpected ending! This was my first book by this author, but definitely not my last.

Happy reading!

This story started out on the run and never stopped. I was on the edge of my seat with every page. See if you can figure out what is going to happen next. This is my first book by Rosie Walker. I’m going to be reading more by her.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

this book was so easy read and I got into so fast. however I feel like the author could have put a bit more twists into the book and made the ending a little more different. overall I love this book so I had to give it 4 stars, would have been 5 stars if it has more twists and the ending a little different.

Sadie and Ted along with their daughters Tamara, 8, and Charley, 6, are driving in the Scottish Highlands during a heavy rain. A big storm is predicted to hit them soon. Sadie has rented a remote hunting lodge called Red Hart Lodge for several days to celebrate Christmas. His parents, and brother and her mother will be joining them later that night. So, they are puzzled when the doorbell rings and it’s a woman and a young girl. it is Alice, Ted’s ex-girlfriend as she sails past Sadie and hugs Ted. She claims to be so happy that she was invited. Sadie is shocked. Who invited her and why?

The tenseness in this book is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Some things were unclear at times which is what the author intended to make the story pan out as she planned. My favorite person is Sadie’s mother. Calm and wise. So much drama that seemed to be a bit overdone and somewhat over the top is how I would describe this book. Now, I need to read something humorous. Whew!
