Talk about surprises...twists and turns...red herrings and secrets. This talented author has written a page turner that kept me up into the early morning hours reading. None of the characters are really likable...they all seem to be "not who they say they are"...that being said, the characters keep the story moving quickly. Who invited the ex-girl friend? Why did she come? Who will end up not going home? These questions are answered eventually. This is a story that is fiction that could easily be nonfiction. Don't miss this. Thanks Netgalley.

When Sadie books a remote cabin in Scotland for Christmas for her and her family she hopes it will be a time for her and Ted to fix their marriage and bring the whole family together but as they barely make the cabin due to a major storm hitting the area they are both confused when there is a knock at the door and Teds ex girlfriend and her child are there claiming Ted has invited them for Christmas. As Sadie starts to doubt everything about her life is the truth much darker than she realises and is she in danger. A very dark read with a twist that I was not expecting. Loved it!!

Ex-Girlfriend by Rosie Walker // Thriller
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I picked this book up and read it in half a day… I truly couldn’t put it down. Rosie’s ability to paint a picture in your mind is absolutely phenomenal. As we follow Sadie, Ted, and their girls to the Scottish countryside, it’s impossible not to feel like you’re right there with them, hearing the same sounds, smelling the same air, and experiencing the same rustic holiday house unfold in front of you.

Enter: Alice, the ex-girlfriend, a juicy plot twist, who comes with an eerie air about her and a big secret. How did she get here? How did she know Ted would be here? And what does she want? I just knew I had it all figured out — but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

As told from Sadie’s POV, that of a wife, mother, therapist, and ultimately the glue that holds the family together, this book is sure to resonate with a large group of readers. Get your copy on May 3rd, 2024!
