I received this book as an ARC as part of Jill's Bookaholics.

It took me a day or two of fits and starts to be able to get into this book, mostly because of life getting in the way, but once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. Who doesn't like a hot firefighter? I certainly don't mind them! I spent most of the book wanting to smack both Leah and Jack upside of their heads for being such idiots, but I got a kick out of watching them pretend they were pretending. I am so glad that they finally got their acts together. I am also glad that Leah went back and finished school and Jack gave her the freedom to do that. I really enjoyed the side story of the suspicious fires.

Of course, the real star of the book was Kevin, the dog! He had me laughing time and time again with his antics.

After recently reading a book by another author, I thought I was tired of the way some of the authors were setting up their stories in 3 batches. You know, three brothers/sisters/relatives/friends fall madly in love with three friends/relatives/sisters/brothers. You can see the match ups coming a mile away. I still think I prefer those series that are set in one town but you get to meet the characters and the relationships one by one, rather than 3 by 3, but I find that I don't mind it as much with Jill's Lucky Harbor series. While the next relationship was hinted at it wasn't as obvious as others author's who spend a big chunk of time setting up the next relationship.

I truly enjoyed this book, couldn't put it down, to the detriment of the men folk in my house who wanted dinner. Luckily for them my Nook ran out of power, and I had to set it aside to charge it. Looking forward to the next one!

Review from 2013:

LOVED. THIS. BOOK!! It may even be my new favorite of Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor series!! Such a great balance of frustration, attraction, awkwardness, & humor. A very sweet story too. I loved the chemistry between Leah & Jack, but also their relationships with others as well -- Jack & his mom, his friends, & his firemen, & Leah & her grandmother & her friends as well. And of course, I love "seeing" other Lucky Harbor characters too, especially Lucille. All in all, I really enjoyed this book, & fans of the Lucky Harbor series won't be disappointed!

**Note: I was given an early ebook copy of this book provided by the author through Netgalley for being a member of Jill's Bookaholics. However, this review is my honest opinion & I'd still read & love this book no matter!
