This is a great fall-themed book. I loved the focus on friendship and introversion, which is not often talked about in childrenโ€™s books. The illustrations are detailed and beautiful. I canโ€™t wait to read this book with my students in the fall.

Hedgehog is not bold. Every year, the same house is on the building plan, but this year Hedgehog wants something a bit brighter - a pumpkin. So armed with a plan Hedgehog, painfully shy as ever, sets off to the pumpkin patch. After getting lost in the corn maze, Hedgehog realized that help might be needed. Enter the quiet voice of mouse, an excellent navigator, who helps Hedgehog. Soon Hedgehog realizes that its ok to ask for help quietly and that it's also okay to enjoy ones own company. Bright gentle illustrations carry Hedgehog and his pumpkin through the story.

My daughter and I enjoyed A Bold Pumpkin Plan. The introvert in me could relate to hedgehog. I believe it will resonate with many children who may be shy or quiet. The illustrations are beautiful and eye catching.

This book was super cute and all about making friends along your journey and persevering through tough situations. At the end, I'm glad Hedgehog recognized that he could spend alone time AND spend time with his friends - he did not have to choose one over the other.

Thank you to NetGalley, Katy Hudson, and Capstone for the opportunity to read and review this children's book in exchange for my honest opinion.

My son and I both really enjoyed this book! The story is so sweet. The illustrations were so cute and engaging. The forest animals were so helpful to the grumpy hedgehog. I thought the story had a great message for kids. Definitely a book I recommend adding your childrenโ€™s home library!

A Bold Pumpkin Plan is the story of an introverted hedgehog who decides he wants to make his home in a pumpkin for the coming year. Getting the pumpkin home is difficult so hedgehog gets help from his animal friends along the way. The illustrations were vibrant and absolutely adorable in this one! I loved the way the text was placed in inventive ways/styles on each page. I would highly recommend this to picture book reading kiddos!

Thanks to Katy Hudson, Capstone, and NetGalley for the chance to review!

I absolutely adored this childrenโ€™s book, I would highly recommend getting it for a younger reader. It follows a hedgehog on a journey to find a new home, and along the way he meets new friends.

The hedgehog is such an introvert in this story, and I loved how well developed his character was. The illustrations were also so bright and joyful. Itโ€™s such a cute storyline and perfect for a younger reader.

Okay this is the cuuuuuutest childrenโ€™s book Iโ€™ve read in a while! The illustrations are gorgeous, but the story is so heartfelt and beautiful. I related to Hedgehog and his small little life, wanting to be alone but finding new friends who make life better. I only wish I had had this story when I was young. Iโ€™m definitely buying this for my niece and nephew!

I received an advanced copy from netgalley in exchange for a review and opinions are my own.

Omg this is such a lovely story about a little timid and shy hedgehog who wanna build a home of a pumpkin. On his journey from the farm he gets lost, the pumpkin gets struck, sinks and so on. No way he could get the pumpkin home...
Luckely there are some animals that have special skills and helps the hedgehog on his journey.

It's a playful, friendly and lovely story about a hedgehog on a self-journey of friendship and learning that he can be an introvert, shy, timid and enjoys alone time. But friends are also wonderfully.

The illustrations was such a joy for the eye. I truly loved this book! This was one of the best picture book I have read this year.

I received this e-arc from NetGalley in exchange to give an review. All opinions here, are my own.

Perfect for Fall. An adorable and well written story showing friendship and problem-solving. When Hedgehog goes on a journey to build his own unique home he discovers new friends and self-discovery. So well written and beautifully illustrated with fall colors and adorable characters your little ones will love. They will see how the friends help each other and problem solve to help Hedgehog build his special home. A story filled with thinking and love. We adore this book. We loved receiving it as an ebook ARC but we will have to add it to our home library for sure. It will soon be a treasured classic. Perfect to read as a family. A great addition to the bedtime routine.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A story about friendship and knowing when to ask for help. Mouse wants to build a new home out of pumpkin, but he needs help to get it there. However, he is a very shy mouse.

Such a cute story! There's a valuable lesson to be learned here too - sometimes we need a little help from our friends. Hedgehog thought he could build his new pumpkin home all by himself, but he quickly learned that sometimes you have to lean on friends instead of trying to do it alone. The illustrations in this book are very detailed and beautiful. I know my littlest patrons would love this book during our storytime hour. Recommended!

A Bold Pumpkin Plan is an adorable story of a little hedgehog who needs to get a a pumpkin back to where he lives so he can build a special home for himself. At first, Hedgehog is reluctant to ask for help because he does not know how, or want to talk to anybody, but with every challenge they face, he finds it easier and easier to ask for help along the way! By the time Hedgehog achieves his goal, he misses all the friends he made along the way, and no longer wants to always be by himself!

This story was a great lesson for kids in self-confidence and not being afraid to ask for help. Hedgehog's feelings of timidness and being scared to talk to other forest creatures is so relatable for kids who may be afraid to do the same. Being brave to ask for help and putting yourself out there can sometimes result in making friends, just like Hedgehog!

Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for this Advanced Reader Copy. The story by Katy Hudson and the accompanying illustrations were just beautiful, and I look forward to seeing this book in my library collection! A great selection for storytime this fall!

A Bold Pumpkin Plan follows a little introverted hedgehog as he overcomes obstacles with the help of other forest animals in his attempt to bring his new house home.
Some themes explored in the story were friendship, offering and seeking help from others, and working together. I thought it was presented in an easy to understand manner for children that are of young school age.
I really loved the illustrations and imagery in the story. The colours were bright and bold.
A Bold Pumpkin Plan would be the perfect book to gift a young child this Fall season.

I read this ahead of publication, and it's a very well illustrated children's book. I love the images, they're vivid and bright, super engaging.

Overall, it's a very cute story that follows an ambitious hedgehog, determined to build himself a house out of a pumpkin. The opening pages with his notes and building plans is super fun. However, I felt a little let down once I got into the rest of the book. The exciting plans that we start with, are semi irrelevant as you progress, and the journey becomes more one of the hedgehog's adventurous day getting his new pumpkin back to his home base to start work.

What I like about this change is that we see an anxious & shy Hedgehog forced to overcome his fears of stepping out and engaging with new friends & accepting help, when he's too scared to ask for it, but knows he needs it. As the story progresses, we see him go from dreading the help to feeling empowered and confident to ask for the help before it's offered.

The book does a good job at illustrating that it's okay to need help, accept help and to ask for help.

What I wish it had more of, would be Hedgehog accepting that same help to build his house โ€“ not just to get his pumpkin home. It would be a nice finishing touch to see Hedgehog accept help not only with the things he's insecure in and doesn't know a lot about, but also in the areas that he feels confident and empowered in. I also think this would help wrap the ending up and feel less abrupt, currently it feels like a hard transition happens between getting the pumpkin home, then everyone leaves and now once the house is finished they're all there and that's the end. It's like the last step and the final transitional piece the story feels like it needs to me. This is what made it 4/5 starts for me vs. 5/5 stars.

Overall though, it's a really cute children's book and I enjoyed it's story and overall message.

This one is for the introverts! Hedgehog is a timid little guy who is feeling bored of building the same home year after year, so he plans to build a house from a pumpkin. Along the way he makes new friends who help him overcome obstacles.

The illustrations are gorgeous and the story is cozy and sweet.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC

Follow a timid little hedgehog who overcomes their fears to make friends, build confidence and overcome obstacles.

Found this book to be endearing and it has already become a firm favourite in our house. Although there is a giant pumpkin on the front this could be read at anytime of year.

The illustrations are well thought out and fantastically drawn.
