I LOVED THIS!! The illustrations were so detailed and colorful, and the story was so heartwarming. I think children will love this, especially shy children.
I received an ARC from Capstone via NetGally in exchange for an honest review.
We road tripped to Florida for spring break and I was so happy I had been approved for sixteen new children’s books coming out this year. It helped so much to break up some time with stories! The kids loved them and had so much fun picking out a book from my netgalley app to read. We didn’t read a single book we didn’t like! Tuckers favorite was Elmo’s new book, Kinley loved the fairy godmother book, Dawsyn loved the basketball one, and Briggs adored the animal book. I highly suggest adding all of these to your summer library reading lists for kids. I love children’s books, and these were full of beautiful illustrations, stories, and allowed us to have some great conversations after them. Thank you @netgalley for these advanced copies! @lisakatzenberger @alicewalstead @eringuendelsberger @aimeereid @christiematheson @jackjokinen @sandranickel @janechapman @hudaharajli @fraanushkin @saralauxakin @laurapurdiesalas @katyhudson emilymurrow @zackwilliams 📚📖🚗☀️🏝️🌊👙

Come along with Mr. Hedgehog as he finds just the perfect pumpkin. Now he just needs help getting it back to where he wants to build his new bold home. He meets so many new friends along the way that are willing to help him despite all the obstacles they encounter.. He finally builds his new pumpkin home and then find himself celebrating with all of his new friends. Such a cute story.
The illustrations are absolutely adorable.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the copy of the ARC.
I totally enjoyed this special little story, and I think it would be a delightful "again" for preschoolers and younger elementary. When I read a picture book or easy-text-and-pictures for young children, I consider what lessons the story might be imparting. On several levels, THE BOLD PUMPKIN PLAN delivers. Not only are the illustrations appealing; the story enphasizes perseverance, accepting teamwork, friendship, and gratitude. Also, it teaches that divergent personalities are equally valid, and that a shy, retiring individual can also enjoy and benefit from quality time spent with others as well as basking in Solitude.
What a cute little story about coming out of your shell, making friends, and accepting help from others!
This was a cozy and cute story about a Hedgehog who is very shy. He has a big plan to build himself a new home out of a pumpkin. Hedgehog thinks he do it alone, but as he enacts his plan things start to go wrong. He meets some helpful new friends who teach him that while it’s okay to be shy and timid it’s also nice to meet new friends and ask for help. Perfect for story time during those cozy fall months.
This book is darling. I love the little adventure but also the lesson it teaches. It is perfect for fall. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful.
This was absolutely adorable. The maze portion, you could have your child find the proper route out. Of course the Hedgehog needed help navigating the various terrains, and it was awesome to see that hedgehog didnt lose hope. He accepted the help, made new friends, and succeeded at his task.
This is a cute way to demonstrate to kids that it's ok to ask for help, because you can't know everything.
Beautiful artwork too.
Thank you Netgalley for the ecopy in exchange for an honest review.
My son totally loved this book! Such a cute storyline and illustration is on point. It's about a shy little hedgehog who is stepping out of his comfort zone who build new friends along the way. It is such a great children book and I definitely recommend it!

I was a little confused upon finishing this book, but after some extra thought, I actually really liked this book.
I will start by saying I absolutely loved the art throughout the entire book. The colors were beautiful and the characters were adorable. There was a lot of repetition, and while it did start to get a little old at a point, I thought that the plot had enough mystery to balance everything out. For example, I did not expect the pumpkin to fall into the river, and that helped me stay engaged.
Basically, this book is about an introverted hedgehog with social anxiety. While making his new home, he interacts with other people and finds that, while he still values his time by himself, hanging out with friends is great, too. While this message was a bit hard to understand, I think that, in a roundabout way, kids will read this book and know that interacting with new people doesn't always have to be scary, and it is a great way to make new friends. This will ultimately assist kids in getting past social anxiety that they might have.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book before the publishing date! It is so cute! I love how timid the hedgehog is but he accepts help from other little critters. The illustrations are beautiful! A fall vibes book but can be read in any season. I love that there are more colourful pictures than words! Just the right amount of story. I can’t wait to get my hands on a hard copy!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
When I was in elementary school over 20 years ago, there was a book that one of my teachers read to us that I haven't forgotten to this day. It was called Big Pumpkin. This book reminded me partially of Big Pumpkin and partially of The Great Pumpkin story from Charlie Brown and the Peanuts. I really enjoyed this book and I thought the illustrations were very fun and charming. I can see this book being very popular come Fall!

Hedgehog was tired of making the same house from sticks every year, so he decided to build a pumpkin house instead. Along the way, Hedgehog kept running into obstacles. Though he was timid and shy, other animals along the way helped Hedgehog. This is a sweet story of perseverance, problem solving, and friendship. I love that the text is clear and easy to understand. The illustrations are gorgeous. My daughter loved how helpful all of the animals were.
Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for the ARC.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange of an honest review. Thank you!
Wow, this was such a cute little story about a timid hedgehog (I can totally empathyse as an introvert person) who wants to build a pumpkin house.
He plans the route, draws a map and picks the perfect pumpkin. But he has to face the fact that there can occur bumps on the road. He needs to learn to communicate and to ask for help. After some unexpected trouble he gets some help, and at the end he realizes that life is better with friends <3
The illustrations are beautiful and colourful! I love the autumn vibes and the animals are very sweet. My favourite picture is the maze! I definitely wilI buy it after it gets published! *-*
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! An adorable fall story about turning a pumpkin into a home- and meeting new friends along the way! This book has very rich, colorful illustrations making it very inviting to read!
I received an ARC of this children's book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read it in the fall before taking my kids to a pumpkin patch. We have several Katy Hudson books on our shelves at home and I can’t wait to add this to our current collection. It’s a cute story and the illustrations are warm and sweet.
This is the absolute sweetest children’s story. I was completely enthralled by the illustrations and felt the story was very sweet and perfect for young children.

I have read several other books by this author and I enjoyed them. So I had high hopes going into reading this book. And it lived up to my expectations. It's an adorable book with really cute pictures!
I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book. The pictures were bright and appealing. The text flowed well and would make for storytime reading. A great message about working together and taking risks.
This picture book was all sorts of sweet and cozy, and it had a wonderful lesson as well. The art was beautiful, following the little hedgehog as his task seemed too big for just one little critter to handle. It was heartwarming to see him find new friends along the way, and t0 learn that while being alone is nice, it's even better to be with friends! It was adorable, and I can see it becoming a new fall favorite!
