I've always loved the idea of doing random acts of kindness, but this is a book about being deliberately kind in every area of your life. There are several sections, including kids, holidays, a grieving friend, etc. Each section has helpful suggestions on things you can do to be kind.
The great thing about acts of kindness is that they can be small or big, and that they're just about letting other people know they're seen and important. Anyone using this book will be able to come up with other great ways to spread kindness. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
A cute, quick, uplifting read! It would be a good gift item. Very vanilla but uplifting and enjoyable
Dallas Woodburn is an award-winning author who has chronicled her year-long journey of kindness on her personal blog. She has now brought those ideas to her newest book, "1001 Ways to Be Kind." Woodburn encourages her readers about the importance of kindness when she says, "tiny acts of kindness empower us to look outside ourselves, beyond our own problems and worries, and focus on what we can do to help someone else." The book is split up into a variety of ideas: everyday kindness, holiday kindness, self kindness, and kindness for others. Woodburn even breaks it down further into groups of people for whom you can be kind: the elderly, children, the grieving, new parents, etc.
This was a quick book to read and full of ideas for sharing kindness with others. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
1001 Ways to Be Kind : This is a book full of lists containing ideas for acts of kindness. They are listed under categories such as family kindness, kind acts for children, relationship kindness, kind acts while shopping and environmental kindness. The idea is good and I liked the inclusion of the quotes. I did feel the ideas themselves were a little basic and common, and it would have been nice to be a bit more creative. But overall a good book that can only bring good things to the world.
