That is time I will never get back. I wanted to like it, but lawd….where do I even start on how wrong this entire book was?

Overly dramatic, unrealistic, and so juvenile in every aspect…I feel horrible even saying it, because the subject matter is heavy. HEAVY.

There are about a half dozen different triggers in this book (this doesn’t apply to me, but if you’re considering reading, please check reviews for the full context of this story).

The premise is okay, original even, and could’ve had great potential. But the heroine was un-relatable and incredibly immature. The Hero, actually he wasn’t so bad…one of the good guys so to speak.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone, there is no population that would find redeemable qualities within it…and that makes me sad. I hope this author has grown in her craft, and one day I’ll try her writing again. But not this series…I’m a one and done here.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this title in exchange for my honest review.

When I first got this, I was super excited about the book. But unfortunately, I'm no longer interested in reading it at this point and I don't want to hold onto it any longer.

So I actually read this book about 4 years ago when I received it an advanced copy of it and somehow thought I'd already reviewed it. The good thing about this is that I realized parts of the book had stuck with me all these years later! There was a lot of angst in the book, which I see as perfectly fine for YA and even NA. The sometimes silly or irrational choices of the main characters fits for their age, so that didn't bother me. Knight's backstory definitely felt more grounded than Rain's. And when comparing the two, his reaction to the tragedy he faced was much more believable than Rain's.
