To be completely honest I didn’t quite finish this book but that is no fault of its own. I was thoroughly enjoying it until uni and life got in the way and then the way I had downloaded it expired. I wish more publishers issued epubs and the ability to send to kindle but that’s okay I guess. Anyway, I enjoyed it and would probably recommend.
"Teddy" by Emily Dunlay is an enjoyable summer read I found myself getting lost in, especially at the beginning. The story unfolds quickly, drawing you in with its engaging characters and intriguing plot. Loved the description of Italy! However, I felt that everything wrapped up too quickly. The ending seemed rushed, leaving little time to fully absorb the developments. Despite this, I still enjoyed the journey and would recommend it as a light, enjoyable read for the summer.
I really enjoyed the writing and setting of this story (1960s Rome is so atmospheric) and the general plot is fun as well, but unfortunately our mc's personality just really frustrated me. A lot of her decision making baffled me, especially considering she appeared self-aware in some scenes but turned around to make some really poor choices. Nevertheless, still a fun read and I'd recommend it to those interested in the drama of politics and historical fiction!
