This is such an adorable and fun book. I love an MC past her 20s! I was incredibly worried most of the book that the story would end in a way that made me throw it across the room and stop reading Bridgett forever (IYKYK) but it ended PERFECTLY!
Still some cringe moments like every time the daughter opened her mouth. But ultimately such a great book!
I loved this, so funny and heartwarming. I really felt like I was there in the moment & loved traveling to new places
what’ a fun read this was!
it had some laugh out loud moments and also parts that ring true to many over 50’s i’m sure.
i loved the characters and now want to find a travel club to join for adventures!
an easy read to get lost in
I stopped reading at 13% DNF.

When Angie finds out her hubby is cheating on her, her world comes tumbling Down.
But with the support from her best friend Patty she decides that she isn't going to let him bring her down and so they set out to challenge life
Fabulous book about new life, friendships and happiness. I really enjoyed reading this book.
Omg this book came along when I really needed it. I literally did nothing but laugh out loud during this book. People were wi seeing what I was reading! I think I gave 6 people the name and recommendation for this book.
Cute and entertaining story about finding your footing after a divorce. I found Angie to be relatable and savvy. I love the idea of themed vacations and would love to find some of those to visit different locales. Her family and friends were equally likeable, even when they weren’t meant to be, and I enjoyed this adventure with them. Looking forward to more.
I sadly did not finish this book. It's not due to bad writing or any flaws; I just don’t think I’m the right audience for it. Despite this, I can see how others might enjoy it, as the writing is solid and the characters are well-developed.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a good story if not farfetched in parts but it was readable and funny in parts.
It was an okay read. Some of the characters were overbearing. Angie just felt blah. It wasn't the worst book I have read, but it was not memorable. I will give the author another chance.
This just wasn’t a book I could get into. The mother daughter relationship at the beginning didn’t sit well with me. Seemed to have an interesting storyline, aside from the daughter, just wasn’t for me.
I really enjoyed reading The Mercury Travel Club by Helen Bridget. The writing style is relaxed and easy to read. The story follows Angie Shepherd, who after twenty-four years of marriage, is divorced and unsure of her future. She works for a travel agent who is struggling to stay afloat and dreams of beating her ex-husband and his much younger girlfriend to become Entrepreneur of the Year. Angie channels her inner Richard Branson and decides to invest her divorce settlement into The Mercury Travel Club.
The book is full of fun adventures and features quirky and endearing characters. It also touches on family dramas, but most importantly, it's about the power of friendship.
A funny book from an author I haven't read before. I read this so quickly as I just couldn't put it down. Very good. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Angela works in Mercury Travel. Her world explodes when her husband deserts her just before their silver wedding. She needs to restart her life which she does first of all with a makeover
Easy reading and good fun, a good debut from this author. the characters were fun, the MC's friends were fab and I found many parts of this story really amusing. I would definitely read more from Helen Bridgett
With The Mercury Travel Club being Helen Bridgett debut novel, I had no idea what to expect. If you are looking for a clean, easy read, with a halmark romance movie feel in a book, this one is right up your ally. Angie is a middle-aged wife and mother when her husband leaves her for the caterer she hired for their adult daughters birthday. Is this book groundbreaking or unforgettable? No. Was it entertaining? Sure, it had its moments. Would I venture to pick up book two in this series? probably not.
Quick Summary: An "it's over, but my life isn't" women's fiction story
My Review: The Mercury Travel Club by Helen Bridgett is book one in The Mercury Travel Club series.
About the Book: A newly divorced woman tries to figure out what comes next in her life post a devastating betrayal of trust. Although she is pushed and pulled in multiple directions by her well-meaning family and friends, she inevitably discovers who she is, what she wants, and how to seek out the things that truly make her happy.
My Final Say: This novel is my new favorite. I absolutely loved it. It was all the things. I felt so much for this character. She did, indeed, make lemonade from lemons. I cheered with her successes and I celebrated her special gift at the end. That was a sweet, new beginning.
Other: The ex was a turd with the tendencies of an insensitive jerk.

Such a cute and fun read! And a laugh out loud one too!
These characters are such a delight in getting to know!
They show us how to take charge after life's drastic changes. It's in how they do it that's sometimes funny.
I loved all the characters. As I got to know them I felt like they were my best friends.
A quote I'd like to share! This author just about has life right through this saying
You just have to keep faith and keep turning the pedals. You’ll get there.
I feel like that only if the timing is right and God wills it, then we will get there. He will place us as He see fit. Not by our own rules and ways.
Faith and Hope is what's truly keeping us going
It's why I really loved this novel.
I enjoyed this book to the fullest!
5 stars for a wonderful adventure!
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Apparently this is a re released book. There is a different cover on the same book on Goodreads. Can be very confusing
When life goes to hell, sometimes you just have to step outside of your comfort zone.
This is exactly what this book is about and how sometimes, those risks you take will take you exactly where you should be.
If you want a charming laugh-out-loud, second-chance romance that is elegantly written and provides pure joy, this is the book for you.
Plus, it is a clean romance for those who prefer that.
What a wonderful story. Truly enjoyed every moment reading this book. Its witty, fun and just beautifully written. I love how the book teaches you that, even when you think everything has gone terribly wrong, your life seems to be falling apart, with the right support, guidance and love you can always start again no matter how old you may be or how scary it is. It teaches you that we all have the strength to do it, we just have to not be scared and go for it.
It's a story that many women can relate to in general life. My favorite character had to be Patty. She is funny, straight to the point and such a firecracker. Definitely an amazing best friend we should all have by our side and reminded me of my 2 best friends which I loved.
It a great laugh out loud story that everyone would enjoy.
