This was an easy and funny read which follows Angela, a newly divorced woman who finds friendship and community after her marriage breaks down.
I felt it was very down to earth in terms of Anglea’ relationship with Alan her ex-husband and it was nice to see her inner thoughts about their past and present.
I loved Patty, her friend who lives life to the full and encourages Angela to do the same. Alongside Charlie the Mercury Travel Club they create provides holidays and experiences for those a bit more mature in age and it gives Angela a sense of success, friendship and community.
I thought it was a well written, light hearted read which did deal with some in-depth topics really well and it’s was an enjoyable read. Just what I needed at the time.

A fun, quick and humorous read about a woman reinventing herself after a sudden divorce. The main character Angela Hargrave is a very relatable character and her friend patty is very funny. From doing karaoke and joining a book club to becoming a business partner at the travel business she works at you find yourself rooting for Angela during this delightful read.

We have all read books with a similar plot before; you know, the one where the middle-aged woman gets dumped by her philandering husband. BUT, The Mercury Travel Club, by Helen Bridgett, completely transcends this plotline with the wry observations and humor of our heroine, Angie, and a hilarious group of supporting characters as well as some very unique entrepreneurial ideas and second careers.

Angie’s efforts to move on include numerous hijinks, especially with her best friend, Patty. She joins a book club, starts participating more in her fledging career at a travel agency, and along with 3 other women of a certain age, rocks karaoke. The usual plot points (often involving the ex) are not here. No one is evil. Instead this is an uplifting read that shows closing one phase of your life means other phases can open.

This book has lots of heart and is great entertainment.

this was such a feel good book that got me in the mood for summer. the cover art is so beautiful and this book came into my hands at the perfect time.

This was such a fun book to read. We also did an amazing job making you feel like you were right there with everyone. I admit I laughed. I cheered I believe really people from this book for my friends because it was so well written 5/5 stars. I love reading about travel and with both did not disappoint with all the beautiful locations. Definitely give it a read of you. Like fun. Happy feel good novels

Enjoyed reading something outside of my usual demographic for FMC. Angie was charming and funny and this was a nice break from heavy fantasy.

THE MERCURY TRAVEL CLUB is a tongue in cheek mid life chic lit. It is a bit of fun, and quite light hearted. There was so much going on and so many 'crossing paths' with the ex husband that it wasn't believable. But it is a bit of fun. An easy read for a rainy day and a bit of a giggle.
