"I absolutely loved this zombie apocalypse novel! The unique parasite-induced zombies added a thrilling twist, making them even creepier. Bullets can't kill them, and fire becomes the only reliable defense.
The characters stole the show:
- Tripp, the protagonist, evolves from an annoying boy to a brave, determined hero.
- Trina, his twin sister, is fierce and formidable.
- Prianka, initially superior, reveals her caring side.
- Sanjay, with autism, brings unexpected humor and charm.
- Jimmy, though sometimes annoying, shows courage.
The story masterfully balances horror and comedy, making for an exciting, laugh-out-loud experience. I appreciated the character growth, zombie battles, and unexpected twists.
Minor drawbacks:
- Trina's swift replacement of Chuck felt disrespectful.
- Jimmy's flirting and liability concerns were frustrating.
Overall, I highly recommend this engaging, creepy, and hilarious zombie novel. I eagerly await book 2!"
Or a concise version:
"Unique zombies, lovable characters, and a perfect horror-comedy balance make this apocalypse novel unforgettable. Tripp, Trina, and friends navigate creepy situations, personal growth, and humor. Minor flaws aside, I highly recommend this thrilling ride!"
I was really interested in this as a possibly primer to the author's other works. This was kind of just a bland attempt at the video-game-writing genre. It didn't do anything particularly interesting.
Dead (A lot) by Howard Odentz.
A fantastic read. I do love Zombie books. I love the story and the characters.
Tripp and his sister trina are at home with trinas Boyfriend chuck.
Their parents gave gone away for the weekend. The next thing Tripp and Trina realize the dead are here and chuck is now a zombie. But tripp calls them poxers and the virus is Necropoxy. They have to somehow get a car and get to their parents who are going to meet them at their aunts and uncles place. Will they get there?
I loved Tripp and Trina and Jimmy and prianka and sanjay. Even Jimmys Bird andrew. Absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to read book 2. 5*. Highly recommended.
There can be a huge difference between dead... and dead, a lot. When everyone around you is turning into a zombie you'd be very lucky to have your super smart twin sister with you, and even luckier that immunity to the virus runs in the family. A wonderful story about the end of the world and zombies and evil... and family and friendship. A standalone book but it feels like there could be more to come which would make me very happy!
