I thought that this was a really good book.
My daughter loves science and seeing experiments and this was one that she was able to do (with some help from me) and she loved it!
The book was well laid out and easy to follow. The steps were easy to follow and it was a great fun experiment and a fun way of learning too - brilliant to combine the two!
It is 5 stars from me - very highly recommended, a great way to get involved and learn
Pros: This book explains how to do a fun and easy science experiment with kids. (I appreciated how one of the things listed on the "what you need" list is an adult helper!) The instructions and photographs thoroughly guide the children through the experiment. I also liked that the book explained the science behind how the project works!
Cons: None that I can think of!
Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone Press for the opportunity to read this book.
Books that allow students to try out science for themselves are always a hit in my book.
This book is simple and perfect for primary students to try out making their own lemon battery!
Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for the eARC.
Like many people I had to do this experiment in school so I was interested to learn the science behind it. I liked that this book wasn't very text heavy but rather had lots of labelled images to make it very clear how to conduct the experiment. I thought the science at the end was explained in an accessible way and was easy to understand.
I am however slightly confused on where this book would be used. If it is designed to teach you how to conduct this experiment at home, you would need to go out and buy a lot of supplies e.g. wires with crocodile clips, an LED and a lot of lemons.
Overall I enjoyed the content of this book and found it very accessible and engaging. I'm just slightly confused on the purpose of it.
I read this with my children.
We loved the large colour photos, clear instructions, and easy to understand scientific explanations.
We cannot wait to try this experiment out for ourselves.
This book is perfect for anyone who is interested in science and experiments!
My boys attend a STEM school and we are always looking for fun science experiments to try at home. This was a perfect book to read with them and to open their minds and spark questions on how a lemon can create this power. I remember trying this experiment as a girl and it was so much fun talking to my boys about it and sharing details about the book with them. I definitely will be buying this book for my kids school classroom library.
Thanks NetGalley for an ARC.
