Thank you NetGalley for this thriller audio ARC! I must say it was a bit slow at first but did pick up and I enjoyed the constant action of it. Thrillers for me are either a hit or miss and this one did impress me. Will definitely be checking out the author more!
First book I've read/listened to from AJ Campbell, looking forward to many more! Thanks to Netgallery for giving me the chance to listen to it early!!
A bit of a slow burn, although an intriguing story I didn’t feel that were any great twists or turns but I did enjoy the narration and the style of writing, there was enough suspense to keep me engaged. Overall I enjoyed it, I just wanted more jaw dropping moments
I thought that this book was good. I thought the pacing of the book was good overall - there felt like it lagged at a few parts but then I was swept away again. I wanted more from this book, but thought that it was still a good read! I would have loved a little more lead-up to the grand reveal/clue dropping throughout the book BUT I could have missed them. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Audio Excerpt for the ARC!
Have you ever worried about your significant other keeping deadly secrets from you? In this psychological thriller, you’ll read about Ashley’s fear of just that. Not wanting to believe her longtime love she’s built a family with could do anything like what he’s accused of, I was intrigued until the end to find out just how this would end!
To top this one off, the audiobook has narration by Eilidh Beaton that’s just right!
Thank you, AJ Campbell, Bookouture, Bookouture audio & netgalley for my early copy & #audiobook! All opinions are my own.

My perfect marriage by AJ Campbell
Narrated by Eilidh Beaton
"My Perfect Marriage" by AJ Campbell, narrated by Eilidh Beaton is a gripping psychological thriller. Campbell's storytelling always keeps me hooked, and this book was no exception.
The plot twists had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't stop listening until the very end. The characters, especially Ashley and Danny, were well-developed and kept me guessing with their unpredictable actions. Beaton's narration added to the experience, bringing the story to life in a captivating way.
Overall, "My Perfect Marriage" is a must-listen for fans of psychological thrillers, and it's a great introduction to Campbell's work. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging audiobook experience.

This one is now renamed ‘My Perfect Marraige’. It was just ok for me and can’t say I’ll remember it in a day or so. It delves straight in but it’s a slow paced listen. Where there are secrets and lies revealed they were just meh and the lead up to the big outcome was underwhelming. Some of the police procedural aspects were just too far fetched and not true to real life. The storyline wasn’t anything different to many others and it lacked substance. I can’t say I was endeared by any of the characters as I felt I didn’t reply get to know them. It was only ok.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review #HowCanITrustYou
Thank you to NetGalley and Audio Excerpt for providing with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was a great mystery thriller as expected by A.J. Campbell. Ashley and her husband Danny take their son Elliott to their friend's house for a children's birthday party. Everything is going good until Ashley sees Danny standing over his best friend's body. Danny is holding a hammer in his hand and he is covered in her blood. Immediately, everyone can't believe that Danny has murdered his best friend. As the days go on and the police continue to grill Danny on the details of what happened, Ashley starts her own little investigation and what she uncovers looks like Danny and his best friend have been having an affair behind Ashley and Lee's backs. Could her husband really be a murderer? This story kept me entertained and wanting to continue reading to see how it would end....Enjoy!!!
A simple fast paced romp with no twists to speak of, just a quick easy weekend read with a light sprinkling of suspense.
A fast paced, gripping read centering on the trust between husband and wife. I remember enjoying it so much that I raced through it but now can't even remember the end. Was there a twist? I am going to have to go and relisten :)
This book wastes no time getting into the story which I really liked. The suspense was definitely there throughout, although I do feel like it started to drag at times. The plot was unique and creative but there was a lot going on towards the end that I really feel like it would have been better without.
The “twist” was not really what I expected and did kind of leave me wanting more but overall, I liked it. Bonus for a great narrator!
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and AJ Campbell for this ARC (that I am just now getting around to posting the review for 😬).
This is hard to write a review on since saying anything would give the murderer away, so I will just say that I enjoyed this book and the killer wasn't that surprising.
I did find the MC Ashley do be a very dumb protagonist. This drives me crazy. I completely understand that if she were smarter, there wouldn’t be too much of a story, but it still grates my nerves.
Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
I enjoyed this… easy reading, not necessarily memorable, but good in the moment. Intriguing and gripping. But if you ask me about it in a few weeks time I don’t think I’d remember much of what happened. Sometimes you need those books though….
3.75-4 stars
This book was a fast-paced thriller that captivated me right away. I stayed up late to finish more of it, and the action and drama kept coming steadily. I didn’t love everything about the ending, but most of the rest of it was very interesting and engaging, even if I felt like I knew pretty much right away who the killer was. Regardless, it was a fun, twisty read with a dramatic conclusion.
This book surprised me!
When a kids birthday party turns into murder-- & your husband is arrested for killing his best childhood friend-- what do you do? You start digging of course & when you find your husband has been lying to you about a lot of things, like a lot, a lot, you start to question who you married & had a child with even though you've been together for a decade.
You start to wonder, who can you actually trust?
As the reader, this book keep me guessing up until the very end! I was truly shocked with how everything came together & how it all went down. I did feel like there were some things that needed a little more explaining to truly make sense-- but I can't go into detail without giving anything away.
All in all this was an addictive quick listen!
Thank you so much NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, & A.J. Campbell for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I literally listened to this audiobook in 1 day. I could not turn it off! This was such a compelling story, and I enjoyed every second! Everything came together nicely at the end. I can’t wait to read more by AJ Campbell.
The book has a new title- My Perfect Marriage. I personally like the original title, but nobody asked me! :)
Special thanks NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for access to How Can I Trust You by A.J. Campbell in exchange for my honest review.
My Perfect Marriage is a fast paced thriller. While at a birthday party, Ashley hears her husband scream. Ashley walks into a barn and her husband (Danny) is holding a hammer and Lucy is dead. Did Danny kill her, or didn't he? I can't really tell you more, without giving you spoilers.
I really enjoyed this book! It's already been published, so grab yourself a copy!
Apparently the title of this novel has been changed from 'How Can I Trust You' to 'My Perfect Marriage', which in my humble opinion is not such a good move. It really is more a story of marital trust than a perfect marriage. Anyway this is a fun twisty tale of murder, mystery, unraveling truths and a little bit of 'Oh my God, how did I not see that coming'. Ashley is a compliant personality and goes along pretty much with everything her husband Danny suggests. When he moves their family to his childhood village Ashley goes a long with it even though she misses her London home dreadfully. She is more isolated in the village and is an introverted individual who does not make friends easily. The small town gossip mill of the village drives her crazy. When Danny is found with a hammer in hand standing over Lucy, his childhood best friends body bludgeoned to death he swears he did not do it. But as clues begin to emerge and information changes by the hour Ashley is forced to confront herself and her perception of her marriage and her husband. This was a fun read. Recommended. 3.5 stars.
