Courage to love again was a fantastic read! As a Kimberly Brown fan I am proud to see her with a traditional release. This book was everything I expected from her! The growth that the FMC showed and the patience the MMC had made this such a good love story!
This book read exactly like a Tyler Perry movie. Reminded me so much of Diary of A Mad Black Woman. Although that was a good movie, the book was almost the same exact plot! I didn’t like it but I didn’t hate it. I’m indifferent. I feel like a lot of bookstagram hyped this one up and normally I am obsessed with Kimberly Browns writing but this one didn’t do it for me. It had strong character development and a great plot but if I had known how it was going to be like a TP movie, I would have taken it off my TBR.
Some things I did love were the relationship between Pasha and Callum. The banter and all the things he did for her were so sweet! Imagine coming home and seeing all your clothes/shoes thrown out on the lawn and your husband is kicking you out of “his” house because he wants a divorce and has another woman? I wanted to knock Raymond’s head off. If he wanted a divorce he should have went about it in a different way. I felt so bad for Pasha; she was really going through it. The first couple chapters had me hooked but also sad and angry because of how Pasha was treated. The verbal and emotional abuse was a lot! Pasha feeling so betrayed and hurt, hit home for me. Been there, done that and that shot does not feel good one bit. There were times I wanted to jump in the book and console her. Thank God for her bestie.
Callum and his sister’s relationship was dope! You can tell a lot about a man the way he treats his sister. His other family were pretty fucked up. Money will definitely ruin relationships. I’m happy about how Callum handled all the situations that were thrown to him in the book. Overall not a bad book, but just wasn’t my fav from her!

Kimberly Brown knows how to write a freaking heart-wrenching book! 💔 Girl, give my heart a break! My heart NEEDS a break!!!!! This book had me in a chokehold and also gave me all the feels. I have never cheered for the villain (Raymond) downfall from grace like I did in this book. (GOD FORGIVE ME) Because hunni, if you know, he DESERVED IT. (I said it, and I don't feel sorry about it.)
Months after meeting a kind gentleman on the most embarrassing night of her life, a newly divorced woman gains the courage to reclaim her life and explore newfound love with the perfect stranger.
Highly recommend! 👍

Kimberly Brown shows she has range with her latest release, Courage to Love Again. I expected this to be steamy and short read but what I was met with was a sweet and slow burning story. There are threads of religious influence weaved throughout the story that worked to build the bond between main characters. But don't let that deter you, Kim finds balance in the tension developed to progress the story forward.
This story is full of emotion and hardship centering around some heavy triggers like depression, miscarriage, cheating and divorce. Pascha's story is one that brings one to the breaking point while finding a way to rebuild them piece by piece. In her rediscovery of womanhood she learns that her friends are a source of renewed supported, her new man is a constant and that she is worthy of love.
I encourage readers to take care of themselves as they read this but know the message is that you are enough.
I wanted to love this book, but it didn’t do it for me! Theme seemed very similar to a movie that I have seen. There was character development but overall I can’t say it was my favorite book! I truly love this authors work and wished I loved this book like I have loved other books.
This book was the perfect friends to lovers story. Pasha has a chance in encounter with Callum after he comes to her rescue after being humiliated by her ex husband.
The story was extremely heartwarming and emotional. I really felt their love through the pages and I honestly loved how Callum made it clear what he wanted from Pasha but was also so patient with her. He was always willing to go at her pace in their developing relationship until she was finally ready.
Kimberly had a way of writing a story that just guys me and hits me in the heart. This definitely gave me the feels of Diary of a Mad Black Woman when Pascha finds her stuff outside. Love after loss, even if it is a divorce and not a death, is still just as hard.
This book was hard to read at times because of the heavy topics. Pasha has been through the mill with being with an abusive man, the loss of her baby and getting divorced. She meets Callum. He truly is a GOOD man who treats her right.
What I wanted to focus on was her journal writing. Now, I am not someone who enjoys journaling. However, reading this book just might give me the motivation to try it. One day she follows a prompt that says: "Write a letter of encouragement to your mind." And she starts out with "Dear mind..." Her letter to herself was just perfect. She builds herself up like how she would talk to a best friend. Very poignant and beautiful. This book may make a journaler out of me yet!
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great book. I enjoyed it a lot!
Callum and Pascha! They will stay with me forever. This was a book about starting over and finding the love you deserve. I enjoyed every minute of this book.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are mine.
This is a perfect read for fans of The diary of a mad black woman. Kimberly Brown brings nostalgia with this read as it tackles marriage and love and a healthy dose of friendship and self love. It follows Pascha who after four years plus of marroage is thrown out of her house by her husband Raymond . Raymond cites her weight gain ,mental health challenges and her ability to conceive as a catalyst for . Pascha St. Claire has nothing to live for.
After five years, her once-loving husband, Raymond, decides to end their marriage. He’s unable to deal with her mental health, significant weight gain, or the idea that she cannot seem to birth him a child. She is thrown out of her house and ends up being rescued by Callum who owns and runs a car reservation and ends up helping her. It is a book around second chances and new beginnings.
Where do I find men like this for my friends? Ones that are objectively and positively obsessed? Because lowkey we need them out here.
Callum... my sweet sweet man Callum. You are the blueprint.
I really liked Pascha and thought that she was very authentic in her actions. She was pushed to her brink and I'm happy that she found a healthy way to get through it. Their relationship was sweet and then real steamy and I enjoyed every minute of it.
The audiobook was fantastic and I had a great time!
Thank you to Netgalley and Black Odyssey for an e-copy.

y’all I really enjoyed this book. it definitely had its sad moments but there was so much love, kindness, and encouragement present as well. Pascha’s family and her found family are really some great people. the way they loved on her, the patience they had with her, and the grace given to her…wow. such a blessing.
Callum is a GOOD. MAN. I loved him pretty early on in the book lol. he was just so real. the way he loved and cared for his family, friends, and Pascha was amazing man. he is definitely a book husband, not a boyfriend 🤣
Avyn, Tia, and Blake were such good friends to Pascha. Avyn is my girl especially though. she really took care of Pascha even when she wanted and tried to refuse it. like no girl, you’re not doing this by yourself. she was so real. and yay for her getting it together with ole dude 🤭
there’s so much I could say about this book fr but I don’t wanna spoil it lol. I would recommend this book but please check tw/cw 🫶🏽
Kimberly Brown is one of those authors who just know how to make a story come to life. I’ve been a fan for a couple of years now and every time I read one of her books it just hits my soul and heart. The way I am praying for a Callum of my own is ridiculous. And Pasha is what I call a strong woman cause baby I know I couldn’t do it. What I especially love and adore is the tight knit community they created for themselves amongst such grief and hardships. Coupled with Pasha’s growth and finding her own independence made for such a wonderful story.
And as always Happy Reading
Pascha thought she was "down bad" but when she came home to her things sitting on the porch and her husband disrespecting her, she learned it could and was getting worse. In that moment, she met an angel named Callum that couldn't understand why he felt connected to her. Courage to Love Again is the story of Pascha learning two types of love: self love and unconditional love. This book allows us to watch Pascha fight through grief, hurt, and depression while discovering self love and real love while healing. I really enjoyed this book and love how we get to see Callum and Pascha perspective.
After meeting Pasha at her worse, Callum is unable to get her or that night or of his mind. A chance encounter months later, Callum is determined to keep her in his life.
I enjoyed this story. I think Callum provided a space for Pasha to heal on her own terms. I liked the chemistry between the couple. They were sweet & cute and had a great level of intimacy.
I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading about 2nd chance in life, not just in romance.
(Be sure to check those trigger warnings)
A truly good read. Kimberly did not disappoint with this one. The emotional journey I went on with Pasha... whew it was rough but so worth it in the end when she was able to heal.
Thanks to NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media for this read. I would hate to give anything away to prevent readers from reading this book. It was well written, the chapters were a good length and the book was very interesting. This is not my first read from Kimberly Brown, she knows how to write she that still remains.
What can I say?? This is Kimberly Brown’s first traditional published book. It had everything we expect and love from a Kimberly Brown book, a great storyline, well developed characters, spicy scenes and a happily ever after.
Pasha experienced a few devastating losses that led to a mental health crisis. As she addresses her grief and develop positive coping strategies, she becomes the woman she wants to be.
Pasha meets Callum at a low point in her life. Callum is sincere, thoughtful, honest and kind. He and Pasha develop a friendship which eventually becomes a romantic relationship.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend to others who like a realistic portrayal of love, resilience and healing.
