My grade-school-aged daughter adores Dolly Parton, so I was excited to be given the opportunity to read an advanced reader’s copy for an honest review.

“Dazzle Like Dolly” includes 144 pages of games, activities, quizzes, and areas to journal and draw. Even if they don’t know who Dolly is yet, this book is colorful, engaging, and fun for children and middle grades. Dolly really is a wonderful role-model for young girls since she has a can-do attitude towards life, is a hard-worker, treats everyone like a friend, and embraces her talents and uniqueness.

I particularly liked the section of this book where readers are asked to make a list of goals/dreams, and then break those big dreams into small steps for a “tried and true strategy” since success doesn’t happen overnight. This book doesn’t sugarcoat it, but it does give good advice on how to work hard and never give up.

I will definitely be buying this book for my daughter once it’s published, and I know she will use it often!

Dolly's in the zeitgeist right now, and this breezy little biography has been much appreciated by a tween reader I shared it with. Will be a purchase for the middle school.

If you don't like Dolly there is something wrong with you! *LOL* She is the sweetest person, and she does so much for people. This book was a nice "beginner" book for new Dolly fans, especially kids who want to find out about her,
She teaches us to be ourselves and just shine!

I may be biased, but OMG, I could not love Dolly Parton more! This book perfectly captures her spirit and outlook on life. It's a fantastic source of encouragement and motivation for young people. In true Dolly Parton style, it shows time and time again how she made the best of any situation, good or bad. This book is absolutely perfect for young girls.

This book essentially answers the questions of what would Dolly Parton do while giving information about her life.

What I loved:
I feel I learned a lot about Dolly Parton: from her humble beginnings to her dazzling career.
The pages were super bright and eye catching. I liked all the little details in the spaces to write.
I liked all the writing prompts. This felt part journal, part biography, part inspiration.
The quizzes made it feel like a magazine at times.
I liked the song lyrics sprinkled in from the Parton songs.
The creative ideas.

I would have totally gotten this as a writing journal for my daughters. I recommend like 1st - 5th grade to use.
