This book had me guessing until the end. I originally thought I had it figured out about half through, boy was I wrong! I could not put it down, and devoured it in two days. Cannot wait for it to be released. I will recommend it to everyone I know!

Nicole thought she had the perfect life until her husband disappears. Good mystery story. It will keep you guessing..

This book was ok. It centers on Nic, whose husband Matt disappears one day after recently telling her they were having financial issues. Did something happen to him or is there a more mysterious situation happening?

The drama in this book was interesting and I was pleasantly surprised by the twist at the end, but it did feel like it took a while to get there. There was some repetition that I could’ve done without. I also didn’t like any character in the entire book, even the tertiary characters.

Overall, decent drama but I’m not entirely sure this one will stand out. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

To me a five star review is a book that had me thinking about it while living life. This one is just that! I couldn't stop thinking about what was going g to happen next and I couldn't wait to be done with my day so I could pick this up and read far into the night.

Family drama is my forte. Drama between spouses, siblings, offspring, in-laws, parents, it's all there.
Each character is just a little off so you're not sure if you're in their corner or not.
The story flowed smoothly with a few twists and an unexpected ending.

This is my first read by Amanda Reynolds and I'm looking forward to reading more from her.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for an advanced copy.

I thought this book was just “fine”. I thought it was a bit slow, but I did enjoy parts where it’s sped up a bit! I wish it was a little shorter as well. I feel like I would’ve been more invested if it was just not as long.

Title: Her Husband's Lie by Amanda Reynolds
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Pub Date: May 14, 2024

✨️Missing Person
✨️Dual POV
✨️So Many Lies
✨️Unreliable Narrator

The Delaneys live in a lovely home in a desirable neighborhood and appear to be the ideal family; however, not all is what it seems.

During an argument about their crippling debt, Matt made a comment on passing about faking his death so that Nic could collect the life insurance, allowing her to maintain her lifestyle and Matt to escape the allegations of misconduct with one of his patients.

Although initially perceived as a joke, Nic's apprehension grew several days later after he was reported missing at the site of a suspicious car crash. She was sure he'd ran from his problems and left Nic to pick up the pieces.

As the search for Matt unfolds, police become involved, crimes are uncovered and secrets that had been hidden threaten to reveal themselves.

My Review:
This one was okay but I wasn't super invested, it just felt like it was missing something. The pacing was a bit slow for me, and I found that all characters aside from the detective to be decidedly dislikeable. I appreciated the nods to therapy and mental health disorders (ex: depression and Trichotillomania), and there were some twists that I didn't anticipate, which was great! I believe Reynolds is a talented author, and I appreciate the opportunity to read this early.❤️

⭐️ 3.5/5

Thank you so much @NetGalley and @theboldbookclub for the digital review copy❣️

Another new author for me and I was instantly fascinated by the story. I loved the writing style and I honestly could not untangle the web of lies in order to find out who did what to whom and why.

In the beginning I liked Matt and his little family consisting of his wife Nic and his daughter Lily. The more I read the more I disliked him for various reasons. Nic on the other hand had my sympathy. I felt her pain and I understood why she was the way she was.

And then there is Lily. The princess of the family, spoiled and thinking she knew how the world worked.

It seems like none of them were what they wanted people to think.

Can you get away with murder though? The answer to that lies on the last few pages. :)

I enjoyed this fluently written story where once and again little tidbits of information were revealed. I was utterly surprised by the outcome and I love that.  5 stars

Thank you

This is a cracking thriller, well paced with a great plot which flowed with ease.
Nicole's husband Matt goes missing after crashing his car, prior to this he confided to Nicole that the had gotten
into financial trouble - where is Matt, has something sinister happened or has he simply walked away from his troubles?
Betrayal and secrets are what awaits Nicole as she delves into Matts life and finds out what has really been going on.
Brilliant!

There were parts of the book that made me mad for certain characters but that’s what helps make the book worth reading. Definitely a great domestic thriller to read

I really enjoyed this thriller I loved the writing style it flowed throughout. It was a dark mystery thriller with lots of secrets and betrayal. It was such a fast paced read I found it really hard to put down.

Nicole’s husband Matt has gone missing after crashing his car not long after revealing to his wife the financial troubles he has got the family in to. Has Matt ran away from his issues or is someone think more happening and now Nicole has to pick up the pieces.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this excellent thriller. I loved it.

Her Husband's Lie
by Amanda Reynolds
Pub Date: May 14, 2024
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.
Blurb from the cover:
She thought she trusted her husband with her life; but a lot can happen in a week…

Handsome doctor Matthew Delaney and his wife Nicole have a perfect life. So when Matthew suddenly vanishes, Nicole is in shock.
My opinion:
The characters are not likeable and I’m not liking the storyline at all. The book is well written, but something was off, I just couldn't put my finger on it what exactly is missing.
Not one I can recommend.

Nic is extremely proud of her near perfect life. She does not want to leave her beautiful upscale home, with the three special trees in back. She and Matt adore their teenage daughter Lily. Unfortunately, Matt, a gynecology consultant, is faced with a highly scandalous allegation and a potential lawsuit, which may bring them to financial ruin. After convincing Nic to trust him, Matt disappears. Add to this a murder, and a glass and granite mansion with a creepy owner. As the reader, I was gripped by the huge web of lies constructed by nearly every character, all untrustworthy and fairly unlikeable. I found the main detective to be very persistent and an interesting personality to bring to the mix. The book is fast paced and the ending satisfying. With thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC. My opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC**

I hated the characters and the story was slow but when I finally picked up I did enjoy the twists. It was like a lifetime movie where I was kind of predictable and you know the husband is hiding so much. Mathew and Nicole were terrible characters but I feel like it added to the storyline.

Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 14th May. I loved this book it was slow at the start then the twists and turns started to roll in that made it impossible to put down. It had lots of suspense that had me gripped to my kindle.

It was impossible to predict the ending my favourite character was Nicole as I felt sorry for her at times throughout the book.

Overall, a suspenseful and gripping plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end!

Her Husband's Lie by A. Reynolds, published by Boldwood Books, is a full length, stand alone thriller.
The book is well written, but something was off, I just couldn't put my finger on it what exactly is missing. All in all a good read, 4 stars.

Handsome doctor Matthew Delaney and his wife Nicole have a perfect life. So when Matthew suddenly vanishes, Nicole is in shock.
As Nicole searches for answers, she uncovers a trail of deceit leading straight to the mysterious Glasshouse – a staggering palatial home constructed out of cut glass and icy granite, clinging to the hillside in a gravity defying show of power and wealth.
But the more Nicole learns about the Glasshouse and all its secrets, the more she begins to doubt her husband. Matthew’s words before he disappeared were so reassuring, but now they are simply chilling.
