I liked the first story but somehow this one just didn’t do it for me. I don’t know if it was the retelling aspect or just the plot that didn’t make sense to me.

Oh wow where to start, I felt like so much happened in this book. Morgan really came out of her shell, her character growth from accepting and submissive to fighting back and snarky comments was brilliant. I couldn't wait to read on to see what she did next. Especially when it came to going after Draven! And could Draven get even better?! Those first appearances in book one of a bad boy assassin (while still true) give way and we discover so much more. I love this other side of him, it made me fall ever for him even more.

The twist at the end I did not see coming but is a trope I love to read so I can't wait to find out how this is navigated in book 3! Would definitely recommend!

**Court of Claws** by Briar Boleyn

I absolutely devoured **Court of Claws**, the second installment in the *Blood of a Fae* series! From the moment I started reading, I was captivated by the way the story progresses and the world-building deepens. Briar Boleyn has truly outdone herself in expanding the universe and developing the characters even further.

Morgan's journey in this book is particularly compelling. Watching her explore her powers and navigate her complex emotions adds a rich layer to the storyline. The balance between action, magic, and romance is expertly handled, making for a dynamic and engaging read. The spice is just right—delicious without being overdone, adding an extra layer of excitement to the narrative.

And that ending! It left me reeling and desperate for more. **Court of Claws** has everything a reader could want in a romantasy book: strong character development, an immersive world, and a storyline that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Well done, Briar Boleyn! I'm eagerly looking forward to book three and seeing where this incredible series goes next.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

“Court of Claws” immediately dives back into the story with Morgan, who finds herself unexpectedly entangled with Draven at his home court. Although she never intended to become Draven's paramour, Morgan realizes she must play along with the sinister games at hand if she hopes to return and save Camelot. Unlike the first book, which focused primarily on world-building and character introduction, this installment thrusts readers into a whirlwind of risks and vile situations involving atrocious Fae. Despite Morgan's serious trust issues——her journey of self-discovery unfolds as she learns more about her lineage and forms new relationships. Draven, nearly a perfect hero, (with zero grump in this book) believes he can change his world with Morgan by his side, though the challenges they face are daunting. The book is filled with legendary beasts, secret plans, magical elements, and unexpected turns, leading to a suspenseful ending that urges readers to immediately pick up the third installment. This sequel not only delivers on the romantic promises of its predecessor but also turns up the heat, making you fall deeper in lust with Draven. The epilogue satisfyingly sets the stage for the next book, leaving readers eager for more.

I finished the Court of Claws in two nights and would have finished it in a matter of hours, well if life hadn't intervened. I thought the first book in this series was amazing, but I enjoyed this one even more, which I didn't think was possible! Thank you to NetGalley and Briar Boleyn for providing me a copy to read and review! I'm beyond excited and thrilled to start the third book in the series.
It seems with each book in this four book series, there are more twists and turns, mysteries, and intriguing characters developing. The fantasy world Boleyn has created is fantastic. I love NightClaw, the exmoor the most! "Human" favorite character hands down is Draven. I like Morgan as well, but I am finding myself frustrated with her character development at the end of this story. I understand where Boleyn is going with Draven and Morgan's relationship, but I dislike that Morgan is self destructive, especially when she is getting what she desires. I won't say too much on this subject as I don't want to spoil the story for anyone. My only complaint with this book is what happens to Beks. I think he deserved better.
I will say to future readers, read the series in chronological order. This is not a series that you can just pick up any book and expect to fully understand the story and the world Boleyn has created.
This book series is addicting! It is a must- read series. I'm happy I have two more books left to read and saddened that there are only two more books in the series left. Boleyn has put a spin on the Arthurian legend of Exaclibur and it only gets more interesting with each addition to the series!

Love this series!! Highly recommend for anyone who enjoyed Gild, Throne of Glass, Crave, or The Bridge Kingdom. It’s a binge worthy series and once you start you won’t be able to stop. I spend every free moment I have to read this. Couldn’t recommend enough. Draven and Morgan <3

4 ⭐️

The first book was good, but this one is great! I loved learning more about this world through morgan’s dreams- it was so interesting. The only reason why this is 4 stars is because some of the choices Draven made were questionable…
I will 100% be reading the third book because that epilogue?? I need to know more. If you love anything romantasy you should definitely read this series.

Thank you to Netgalley and Briar Boleyn for allowing me to read this book.

On the verge of death, Draven whisks Morgan away to his home country where he is a beloved prince. He has claimed her as his official consort and entered a bloody ritual to claim his crown.

If you are sleeping on this series, stop right now! This was even better than the first one! Where the first installment was a little slow with world-building and character development, this one was moving right out of the gate. I love Morgan and Draven and the band of misfits that they have assembled. I want to say so much about this book, but I'm scared to ruin the surprises. I'm nothing if not giving. LOL. I've already got the third one pulled up on my Kindle ready to rock!

I LOVED this book!

The competition, one bed, forced proximity troupes came together PERFECTLY and the twists and turns this book had almost gave me whiplash!

We met new characters, found out about Draven's heartbreaking back story and of course, had an evil step mother thrown in for the fairytale vibes.

I'm so exited to see where this series will go!

The unexpected twists just keep coming with book 2 from Briar Boleyn! The Umbral Court is both the same as the Rose Court and yet wildly different. Morgan faces new challenges, and new feelings, while trying to navigate this new set of friends and enemies. This book is filled with excellently written battle scenes and heart-wrenching decisions. The long awaited spice between Morgan and Draven did not disappoint and left me longing for more. While some secrets found their way into the light, many more were made and kept hidden. I cannot wait to read book 3 and see what else is in store for Morgan, Draven and everyone else.

In Queen of Roses, Morgan has very little insight into the world of the fae as she takes potions to suppress her powers and blend in with the rest of the human court in Pendrath. In Court of Claws, she is launched into an entirely new world courtesy of Draven, a fae court where his mother is Queen Regent. Morgan grapples with trying to learn how to use her newly discovered powers, as well as figure out her place in this court, where Draven has presented her as his mistress to avoid questions (fake dating trope, for anyone interested in that sort of thing). A great follow up to the first book, perfect for fans of romantasy and Sarah J. Maas

If you like King Aurthur's legends and you like Fae then you will love this enchanting continuation of the series. This book is a good read to slip into and enjoy. The MFC is a bit defiant and at times seems overly angry about miscommunications that honestly should be showing some resolve by this time. But even this does not detract from the overall feel of the story and book. Looking forward to more from Brier as an author.

I recieved this ARC from the author and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The ending of this book blew me away. I am so in love with this story, it’s a great reimagining. Not gonna lie, the miscommunication trope was strong in this book but the ending makes up for it, the heartbreak….oh my. Draven deserved some of the grief Morgan gave him, if that would’ve just talked to her from the start. I love that she calls him a brut with affection though. The spice is strong in this one too, friends.

Queen of Roses had so much character & world building to do to get to this incredible book 2 in the series. This all led up to an incredible story that was both fast paced & adventurous. New & lovable characters, sexual tension & banter, betrayal & heartache…Court of Claws has everything a reader could want in a Romantasy book. Well done Briar Boleyn…eagerly on to book 3!

I was even more obsessed with this book than the first one. Anytime I had downtime I was reading. It’s got it all- action, adventure, suspense, drama, and it can get steamy! I highly recommend!

First - thanks to NetGalley and the author for giving me ARC copies of this entire series! If you are a fan of Sarah J. Maas or Jennifer L. Armentrout, you need to check out this series!

I am a huge Romantasy reader and I always struggle to find series that live up to SJM and JLA series. This series really does the trick. You will love the characters, the story, the action, and of course the romance.

Add this series to your TBR immediately and cure any ACOTAR or FBAA hangovers you may have!

Loved this book! I read the first one in less than a day and requested this one through NetGalley, after I started it I immediately purchased books 2-4 (gotta have that trophy for the shelf!) and absolutely flew through book two. I love the mix of her twist on Arthurian legend with other fantasy/mystical aspects. There were a lot of twists I absolutely did not see coming and she just kept me guessing from one moment to the next.

This was the perfect follow up to the Queen of Roses. Ms. Boleyn did not suffer from any sophomore slumps in the series. The book moved a decent clip and I found myself wishing I could slow down .
