Ugh real lovers are so back! There’s something so intensely romantic about a man who has all the riches and confidence he could want but still becomes putty for the girl he’s in love with.

Both Marcus and Xander are my new book boyfriends and I love how strong and witty yet vulnerable and sweet Sloan was as a FMC. It had good pacing and humour to balance out the sad and steamy scenes. So well written too! Like, come on!!

“I’ll find every book you love. Hell I’ll dig up Cervantes and make him write you a new one.”

Bro I MELTED!!!! As a book lover? This was exactly what I needed from a MWBW (man written by a woman).

The discussion of being mixed and not feeling fully POC or white was so poignantly included too. I’m not mixed but I deeply felt for Sloan and how out of place she was made to feel. It wasn’t too serious, but it wasn’t dismissive either. One of my fav reads of the year.

Excuse me, the Ana Huang girlies are going to eat this series up.

-billionaires
-rich competing families
-high society in NYC
-delicious tension
-brothers best friend and best friends sister
-spicy

I really had the best time. This is your standard billionaire romance but I think it belongs at the top of everyones lists. The series is going to have so much tension and so many great characters. Absolutely will be reading book two!! Sloan and Marcus have kind of always had a thing for each other but have never explored it or really acknowledged it. But when Marcus is back in NYC for business, world collide and Marcus realizes he couldn't just move to London and have his feelings disappear. But Marcus is hiding a huge secret that will rock all of their worlds. Sloan is also best friends with Marcus' brother, but I loved that that wasn't actually a tension between them.

I enjoyed this book overall! What had caught my attention most were the tropes, since majority were ones I normally like to read. Only feedback I can think of is maybe is to not be so repetitive, as it made certain areas feel drawn out. That aside, it was easy to get invested in the storyline and I loved the angst!

There is just something about a brothers best friend and a billionaire romance that does it for me. I got this as an ARC copy from steamy lit where I met the author.

I love a good brothers best friend, the mild taboo of it all adds sparks to the story. These are two very driven and passionate people that collide. The story is well written and flows perfectly.

This celebrates family- biological and found. I love the family and friends connection. The family dynamics gave off soap opera vibes ( think Gossip Girls, Dynasty).

The Spare follows the story of Sloan and Marcus and their best friend/sibling Xander and Henry. The book starts with off with the background of the relationship and circumstances among the four.

I love the multicultural vibes and the diversity it celebrates and represents. I enjoyed the description of the rich cliques, great friend groups and working class professionals.

It was a bit of a slow burn but the author used it advantageously by providing a rich background to each character.

I love Sloan’s confidence and her no take bull shit approach. I love how she loves wholeheartedly and her relationship with both Sutton brothers.

I’m looking forward to reading more of the author’s works.

If you love best friend’s sibling, found family and multicultural romance then you should read this.

The Spare was an okay read. It was slowly paced, and certain scenarios and dialogues were constantly repeated, making the story feel more drawn out. The pace picks up at around 75% into the book. Unfortunately, it didn't help that the main characters were not convincing as a couple. I couldn’t feel the romantic chemistry between Sloan and Marcus. However, the relationship I enjoyed most was the friendship among the four characters—Sloan, Marcus, Henry, and Xander. Xander, in particular, stole my attention throughout the book. I believe his story would have a lot of depth if written, and I would definitely read that.

Billionaire romance with my favourite tropes- he falls first and brother's best friend plus in dual POV 🙌 I am sold. I absolutely loved how brilliantly the author has penned down this story showing a powerful female protagonist with her own wealth and power and the male protagonist is also rich yet he is falling in love with her more and more.
The banter and sparks between the protagonists damn each time they left me feeling hawt and I couldn't stop giggling and blushing at it. I enjoyed reading this book.

Thank you for offering, but this one isn’t for me. I had trouble finding a connection to the characters or getting into the story. But I love a Billionaire romance!

I first read this book when Ava was indie published and I'm so excited for her and this book. This new edition has a new bonus chapter and some good edits. This is a good read. It gave me gossip girl vibes (minus the toxic relationships) with the rich old and new money aesthetics, tight-knit friend groups, and rich elites. The first 40 percent of it is a little slow because the author sets up the characters and their background. I liked that because it set up future characters well. Once the book gets very into the romance part it’s faster but it's still a slow burn.

Sloan the fmc Marcus the mmc and their two other siblings have been close friends until Marcus leaves them all after tragic events and goes to build his business. He’s back and he and Sloane's relationship starts rebuilding when they are in the same city together. Once the romance starts it gets spicy and I was here for it 🤭. This is the author's debut novel and I liked the diversity and how this was written. If you like contemporary romance books with diverse characters and rich people you should read this one. Thank you Ava and Avon for this arc!
