The perfect coffee table book. Love the mix of photos and text, as well as the "Favorite Books" asides.

I love looking through design books, so what a treat it was to find one where books took center stage! My home is swimming with books and looking through these photos provided great inspiration for new ways to display and style them. The photos were vibrant and captured various design aesthetics. I particularly enjoyed spotting titles I already have in my home and finding inspiration for new books to add to my collection. The reading lists were a wonderful and unexpected added bonus!

Anyone who is an avid reader loves a good bookshelf picture. And Pinterest has nothing on this is a curated ode to bookshelves! I love it! I came across this book while I am planning out my new office, so many great ideas and takes on book storage to use as inspiration. I also got some read ideas on how to help the kids organize and display their books.

Thank you to NetGally for providing this ARC.

This book has so many beautiful book pictures! I got so many ideas on how I can reorganize my current bookshelves and nooks as well as how I can display books in the future. This book has many great categories such as baby and kids so it can give you ideas for many years. I also like that they have lists of some books that authors like scattered throughout the book. This would also be a good coffee table book.

I received an e-book arc from Netgalley. an avid reader, I am constantly on the search for my perfect in home library. While the pictures in this book are inspiring, it is more geared towards interior design and using books to that manner. A nice touch was the complimenting lists in each section from recipes to book recommendations. A nice coffee table book with beautiful pictures, but not a practical guide to book storage for the book hoarders.

This was a great idea but really, a wasted opportunity. I follow several pages online that are full of book lovers showing off their shelves, and there are so many amazing possibilities.
This book seems to have been written by someone who likes the idea of books as decorations. The photos are lovely, and great care was taken in arranging the books and surroundings to provide a pleasing aesthetic.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

A perfect book of little nooks and various decoration ideas for book lovers. A fun example of ways to utilize a book lovers extensive collection. I found the photos to be vivid and of high quality. I think this would be a great gift for a book lover. This book is a great table book that highlights a persons love for books.

I really enjoyed looking through this book of creative ways to use books as home decor. I also enjoyed that book recommendations from various people were included throughout the book. Thank you NetGalley for providing this ARC.

Thank you Chronicle Books and NetGalley for the eARC of Book Nooks! All opinions in this review are my own.

Finally a book that supports my two most important decor questions - "Are there enough books in this room?" and "Will that unused space fit more books?" Jokes aside, this was a really fun book to read with gorgeous pictures. I love that they included famous authors and their top book lists. I was proud that I have read most of Jasmine Guillory's favorite romance books since she is one of my favorite romance writers. I also especially loved the sections Little Free Libraries and Classic Libraries Around the World! This book would be a great gift to any reader or book collector!

There’s little that I love more than a good shelfie. I loved flipping through these pages and getting lots of inspiration

3.5/5 Stars! Thank you, NetGalley and Chronicle Books for this eARC of Book Nooks by Vanessa Dina and Clair Gilhuly.

What a very cute and interesting book. I love the photos of the different style of book nooks that fit your style - of the house and book preference. The photos were beautiful but it didn't seem like how I would or want to have in my house - I think it's also because I have crazy boys who will bulldoze through it or draw in them. Unfortunately, I've minimalized my book shelf and will only borrow/listen to books or purchase them for my Kindle.

Love the pretty photos and ideas but not for us.

I loved this book. I love looking at people's bookshelves and seeing all the different types in this book. They are all unique in their own way and I love how the authors took the time to show each shelf in it's own beautiful way

This is a nice coffee table book of book nooks. Some pretty decor, but to be honest I was expecting more books. Many of the pages featured home decor that just happened to include books, not many featured full bookshelves.

Thank you Vanessa Dina, Claire Gilhuly, Chronicle Books, and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

I was excited about this as I’m looking to renovate and I need to create some space for all my books

The photos are great but many of the ideas didn’t really seem practical for me although they do look nice in photos

3.5⭐️

The book is full of lots of pretty photos. I enjoyed the photos because I enjoy looking at books, but none of the ideas really seemed like anything particularly special. I was hoping for a bit more inspiration. Random bookstacks on the floor look like clutter and not original. I was hoping for more unique bookshelves and wall designs! Similar to what you can find in different indie bookstores. It’s a fun book, but sadly nothing particularly special about it.

5 stars for the pictures, 3 stars for the rest

The pictures in this book were beautiful! I loved the setups they showcased, and that they weren't just pictures of bookshelves. They were full designs of spaces where books were the highlight, not the main event. I also appreciated that they separated the book into different spaces in a house or type of book you were trying to style (kids' rooms, bar carts, cookbooks, etc.).

That said, there were very few pictures in this book that seemed executable in real life, and the blurbs that accompanied the pictures weren't much help either. One tip said to only have baby books that matched the theme of the baby's room, which seems unnecessarily difficult and kind of defeats the purpose of giving babies books to look at. Another was to install a hanging swing in a kids' room and put stacks of books on the floor underneath it, but anyone with kids knows those stacks would be knocked over immediately, or would be a nightmare to vacuum around if they managed to stay upright.

I also didn't love that the whole book made books look like an accessory or decor versus something to read and enjoy. I don't know any real readers who would make a book nook and then only put neutral-colored books in it, or who only has large decorative/display books versus lots of novels. I'd much rather this be about creating realistic book nooks, where you showcase how beautiful a space can be with books of all colors/shapes/sizes/genres, how they can live together and look beautiful and actually provide you the entertainment you're seeking from reading.

Overall, the pictures were beautiful, and if you're looking for interior design tips on how to use books as decor, this book would be for you. But if you truly love reading and you're trying to figure out how to make your overstuffed bookshelves look stylish, I'd stick to Pinterest or TikTok videos for tips.

Book Nooks is a must for anyone setting up their home library, or if you're redoing yours, as I am. I found the photography so inspiring and I liked that there was a variety of styles, not just grand home libraries that are unattainable for most people.

This is a great collection of ideas for anyone who loves books and wishes to display them in an intentional, creative manner.

I was expecting exciting, innovative bookcases or fresh design options and I don't think that was achieved. Instead, in 'Book Nooks' we have short paragraphs on styles of book nooks and pairing books with color to an artistic aesthetic. Most of this is already in use among Bookstagrammers. I liked the book.

Whether a small home library or a collector of volumes, this book is a handy reference and a beautiful book to display. Photos and descriptions help you decide how and where to place books for maximum impact. Although several methods are questionable at best, there is something for everyone here. Enjoyable coffee table book.

Book Nooks is a delightful gift to anyone who loves books. This creative interior design guide provides inspiration on how to beautify any room in the house with books. The photographs in Book Nooks are gorgeous and the book is a work of art. My favorite feature of the book is the recommended book lists from best selling authors and other lovers of readers. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to add a copy to my personal book collection.

Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
