This isn’t the type of book that I normally review but as an avid reader I felt drawn to it. The pictures are gorgeous and it offers a variety of ways to decorate a house using books. Some highlights for me were functional book stacks, small spaces, and book crafts. I also enjoyed the blurbs and book recommendations from authors. I was a little surprised that a few of the ideas were out of the norm in impractical ways, such as the section on books in the bathroom. I was also hoping for more ideas on how to make a cozier book space. All in all this book delivers on interesting ideas and lovely photography, so it would make a nice coffee table book!

This is a great book. very aesthetically pleasing photos. And some great tips for organizing and displaying my book collection.

This a cute book that would appeal to book lovers, and would make a lovely gift. The photos are gorgeous. I appreciated the recommendations from top authors sprinkled throughout. Some of the displays are more for show than practical, but still great to look at.

A perfect coffee table book! I loved the addition of authors’ reading list suggestions.so many cozy looking spaces. I would love to have seen larger collections.

As a self proclaimed bookworm being surrounded by books is a must for me. They just feel like sunshine for my soul. I've always had a bookshelf or two plus years worth of dreams of my own home library one day....

....and at long last I was able to buy my own home recently with not one, but TWO spare bedrooms. Plenty of space for all the books! That being said I've been searching for inspiration, which made this book have the most perfect timing. I absolutely loved all the different decorating styles and the use of other objects to add a cohesion to the look. The photography was absolutely excellent, as well. Moreover, I loved all the different ways to use all different size spaces to display our beloved books. If anything this book made me see that every single room in my house can have a collection of books to fill the space with magic (which could be dangerous for my wallet, but hey, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it). I also enjoyed the little tidbits from various authors and others in the literary space, as well as the list of some libraries around the world (hello travel ideas!).

I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone who needs inspiration for their own little library....or if nothing else a very awesome coffee table book. Thank you again for the copy!

This book does what it says, and shows examples of books styled in different ways. This is probably more useful to those who own books for decor rather than practicality, as the books pictured are generally hardbacks in certain color palettes. There are some general interior design tips also. The photography is nice, and I'm sure it's a good starting point for those looking to style their book collections.

Two stars because it had a lot of nice pictures of books and very aesthetic books. Otherwise, it was mostly impractical. It was mostly a guide to decorating with books, instead of creating any functional space to keep several hundred books. For example, one of the storage suggestions was to arrange books in an unused fireplace. They were in a chevron pattern with the spines facing in. An interesting visual effect, sure, but entirely unusable as a library. It also highly encouraged the book stack. Yes, I am constantly stacking books, but that's mostly because of space, and even I will admit that it makes them very inaccessible because the book you need/want always seems to end up at the bottom of the pile. It's also not very good for the spines of books to store them in such a way and can cause eventual structural damage.
I'm sure this book would be great for someone classier and richer, someone interested in displaying interesting coffee table books (like this one) in all their space, but that's not me.

I love a book about books, made by book lovers for book lovers, & ‘Book Nooks’ by Vanessa Dina & Claire Gilnuly would definitely fall into this category. While I’ve never reviewed a coffee-table style book, I flip through them all the time. I love taking in all of the different ideas & the perspectives of whatever the topic is. And this one was a bit perfectly timed because I am currently adding to my books & overhauling how they’re stored, displayed, & organized.

Coffee-table books can often come across as high-handed & unattainable, but that is not ‘Book Nooks.’ We get to flip through so many different style ideas in all different sized spaces & it shows just how much books belong in every room of your home. You don’t get the “don’t touch my books” type of vibe from these. Instead, you get the “here’s how my books feel like home & how I find my home in books.” It’s a book that doesn’t leave me feeling like I’m somehow displaying my books “wrong.” In fact, it helps you think out of the box by suggesting ideas like displaying books on the floor or displaying them wide open.

There are some extra elements that I really enjoy as well, like the section on Little Free Libraries, the list of Classic Libraries, & the celebrity books lists that are sprinkled throughout, including a Banned Book list (heck yeah!).

If you are reading this review, I would assume you’re a reader. And if you’re a reader, I would tell you to pick up this book one day, flip through the pages, & find the inspiration you might need for your own collection of books.

This was super cute! If I had a book nook / home library of my own, I would definitely get this for a coffee table or shelf spot! It wasn't quite what I was expecting.

The book nooks are categorized by room type, and then feature some within that style or category. Due to this, there were probably more than expected that didn't really appeal to me or apply to me. I guess that's the fun of a book like this, though. Seeing and appreciating something you wouldn't do for yourself! Or can't afford for yourself lol.

I really liked the recommendations from different notable people within categories, too. I'll definitely have to check out some of the listed recs!

Overall this was a cute, quick read, perfect for your home library.

Stunning pictures of inspired shelves. Book Nooks makes me want to rearrange my own volumes. Flipping through the pages and seeing the pictures of artfully displayed books made me happy. I also enjoyed the varied book lists and fun content like a Margarita recipe in the Bar chapter.

This book is such a wonderful visual experience. I can't wait to purchase a hardcopy to have of my own. It has amazing ideas of ways to display and shelve your books organized by color and theme. As a book lover it is delightful to read.

This makes me want to completely tear down my room, start from scratch, and turn the entire thing into the world’s coziest book nook.

I loved looking at all the books in various design configurations. My books will never look this pretty nor will they be left on the floor because I have a rabbit and if it's on the floor it's chewable. I did enjoy the list throughout the book by different famous people for books in their area of expertise.

All in all a fun look at ways to display books.

This home decor/photography book was like a fancy magazine but modern enough to use as an aesthetic feature in your home. (Unlike outdated magazines. My god how old am I?) My favorite parts of this book were the mini author interviews with book recommendations. This book was filled to the brim with gorgeous book nook photography and styling ideas. Very reminiscent of those home decor and DIY magazines I hoarded as a young adult. (AGAIN with the magazines!) The Bedside section was a personal favorite and one I took the most notes to help in styling my boudoir. There are also a couple fun little recipes sprinkled throughout. This is a beautiful book! I loved the chapter-headers, the recommendations from authors about specific genres - so clever. I can't wait to update my book nooks - lots of inspo in these pages.

A lovely glimpse into various book nooks provides inspiration as well as tickling the fancy of book collectors.

This is an excellent coffee table book for a book lover!! A great gift for that book lover who has books stacked all over their house. As someone who loves to drool over strangers bookshelves on Instagram/booktok/Pinterest and has zero knowledge of interior decorating, this book was perfect for me. It had some great tips and unique ideas for those of us that don’t have mansions or fancy art. I really loved the book recs scattered within the photographs and tips from some well-known authors as well!! I only wish it had more pictures of different shelves and color schemes!!
