A Grand Love combines information on terminology and personal reflections from a variety of individuals. It includes a variety of perspectives from grandparents of younger children through adults with children of their own. A Grand Love shows grandparents may often be the last family member to be told a grandchild is trans, but they are not always the last to know. It encourages grandparents to support their children and grandchildren where ever they are on their journey.
"A Grand Love" by Janna Barkin is a beautifully written memoir that offers a profound and inspiring look at the journey of raising a transgender child. With its authentic narrative, emotional depth, and educational value, the book is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the power of love and acceptance in the face of adversity. Barkin’s story is not only a tribute to her child but also a testament to the strength and resilience of families navigating similar paths.
An extremely important and heartwarming collection being told from both the trans grand child and the grandparents. Love this everyone, and mean everyone needs to reads this. Love love love.
This is a very helpful resource for grandparents of transgender children, that will help to foster understanding and answer many of the questions that arise. I’m hopeful that this will lead to greater compassion and acceptance among families - thank you, Janna, for writing this book.
