Charlotte is about to start Summer break but does she have a job to return to. Her parents seem to be going through something but not what Charlotte is about to experience. A tandem bicycle trip with her exs brother Zach. This story will delight you.
A delightful Christian book that makes for a lovely light read and great for many.
I enjoyed this book. I did not realize it was a Christian Romance when I picked it up. It had all the elements of a fun light hearted romance but was also clean.
The book focuses on an unlikely pairing who go on adventure with ups and downs that ultimately brings them close together. The minor characters were a little under developed but all in all a fun quick read.
This was my first Becca Kinzer novel but I definitely plan on finding more.
C.J. Bloom also did a great job narrating.
So cute! I loved the premise of this book. I loved that especially in the beginning with the wedding there could have been some ick scenes but the author skipped right past them! This could've been split into 3 (maybe 4) different love stories but I thoroughly enjoyed the plot.
Ride along with Zach and Charlotte for 500 miles on the Natchez Trace Trail -- on a tandem bike. As you can imagine, there will be obstacles in their path. Some are physical, some mental, and some metaphorical. Never fear, though. There will be fun and faith-building along the way. Becca Kinzer has done it again. I'm not going to lie. For a bit I wondered if they would ever get on that bike. Once they did, the story kept me enthralled all the way up to a fabulous finish. This one more than met my expectations. Can't wait for the next clean romcom from Becca Kinzer!
Thank you to RB Media and NetGalley for an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a very cute and quick read. I really enjoyed the fake dating that Charlotte and Zach found themselves in while trying to complete a 500 mile bike ride to win some much needed money.
The character development was great and I enjoyed the side story of Charlotte's sister as well
The audiobook was narrated by CJ Bloom and she did a fantastic job bring the characters to life.
3.5
Things are finally going right in Charlotte's life- until they all fall apart at once. The grant for the music program at her school fell through. Her ex-fiancé is getting married this weekend- exactly two years after he left her at the alter. And her mom's cancer is back. She agrees to run an errand for her sister- the location being the place of her ex's wedding rehearsal dinner.
Zach looked for every excuse not to attend his brother's wedding. He is, after all, marrying his ex. To get his mom off of his back, he tells her he has a surprise date. Because she will be surprised when she finds out it is the flower girl. He promised her a dance, so it is technically a date. When he arrives and is speaking to his mom, they see Charlotte. And his mother is so excited that she is the surprise date. It snowballs from there and suddenly Charlotte is the maid of honor in her ex's wedding.
To make matters worse, Charlotte's sister signed her up for a couple's competition, riding a tandem bike 500 miles with her significant other. The prize money will replace the grant she lost. Suddenly, she and Zach are off on a journey together.
I thought this book was cute- a new twist on forced proximity, lol. However, the tone shifted about 2/3 through. It didn't become overly religious, but faith became the largest component of the plot. It felt out of left field and kind of threw me. It was almost like a totally different book. In the beginning, it was there, but in the background. Suddenly, if is the main focus of the book.
CJ Bloom narrates. I always enjoy her narration, though I wish they had used a male narrator for Zach's POV.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.
The cutest romance read that is perfect for summer. Between the adventure, grumpy romance and all the obstacles in between, every aspect of this romance was one you don’t want to miss!
I loved this book! It was such a great story about love and faith. I loved the main characters journeys and felt like this book had a few surprises that had me laughing because I feel like life has those too so it felt relatable. The only thing I wish it had more of was more of her sister’s journey. I felt like we got a glimpse of her story but it felt a little more incomplete and rushed but on a whole I loved the book, and would definitely recommend it to friends!
I L O V E D THIS BOOK!!
What a wonderful surprise!!
If you are looking for a light hearted, laugh-out-loud, funny, sweet, family oriented, Christian based novel…revolving around taking a 500 mile tandem bike ride…well, you have found your match!
Charlotte is a part time music teacher who is looking forward to expanding her Dept with a recently received grant…except that the funding has fallen through. So now she is determined to raise funds to make this dream come true.
When her sister Sophia tells her of the bike ride, she laughs! She is NOT the outdoorsy type. She does not want to spend endless hours outside…biking, sleeping, eating…NOPE. Not for her! Also, it is meant to be done with your partner…and her last partner was her ex-fiancé who left her at the altar two years ago!
Add to this that Sophia works in the hospital as a food runner…and her new favorite patient dies….and she asks Charlotte to alert the family…
Well, it is not funny…but, it it also SO FUNNY! Melba…Mabel…the little old man…the restaurant…the wedding rehearsal! Oh my!!
This one actually had coffee coming out of my nose…from laughing hysterically, totally unexpectedly!
It’s so realistic in so many ways…and yet also…so far out there too… and yet, it just melted my heart!
#LoveInTandem by #BeccaKinzer and beautifully narrated by #CJBloom.
Thanks so much to #NetGalley and #RecordedBooksMedia for an ARC of the audiobook which releases on 4/2/24..so a few days from now!

I feel so terrible giving this a one star, but I just couldn’t get into this book.
The beginning started off ok, but then I quickly realized this story is filled with stupid and annoying people. I could barely stand how our FMC let people walk all over her, especially her sister Sophia. Yeah, Sophia was spoiled brat.
I also found it strange that our FMC’s ex fiancé was marrying our MMC’s ex girlfriend. Again, it was weird and maybe not realistic. Not to mention the MMC stood up in his brother’s wedding (his brother was marrying his ex). It just seemed very un-Christian like (which is supposed to be one genre of this book).
I didn’t realize this was a Christian romance when I picked it up, so that’s on me, but too much religion for my taste.
This was supposed to be funny, but I couldn’t find the humor in it. Maybe as a rom com movie I could see it, but as a book it fell flat.
*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a good book! Definitely a light hearted romcom! This was very light on the faith element, definitely more “clean” I would say, I wish we could have seen more of their faith journey! But if you’re looking for a fun time reading, this is the book! The audiobook was amazing! The narrator was really good!
This was a cute story. Not my normal themed but overall it was a nice fluffy palette cleaners type of read. The twist with the parents was a little out there. The audiobook narrators did a good job bringing the story to life.
This book is so funny, I laughed out loud more hearing this book then I have the last few month (because of books at least) it was so funny and cozy, and I just loved it. I liked the narrator too because her voice kind of faded away, so I forgot I was listening to her, I don’t know if that made sense, but I mean it in the best way.
Some narrates make it impossible to relax when listening because their voice is taking to much space in my head, but I could relax when hearing C.J. bloom’s voice.
I really liked the idea of this book, it was interesting, and it never became boring. Every time it was beginning to be less interesting a new thing would come up and I would wan to hear it even more.
I love it so much that I for the first time (in a long time) feel sad that the book isn’t longer.
The back story was very interesting too and I would probably read a book just about their past although I don’t know if it would be enough to make a whole book.
This book is so good, and a 5-star read for sure.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this book! I am not going to lie, I really wanted to try a Christian romance. I am not super religious but growing up in a very Christian household they were the only types of books I was allowed to read for a long period of time in my life. I really loved it and it was not too heavy on the religion factor, The love story was insanely sweet. The narrator did such an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Also, this book made me really crave pancakes. It was such a great read! Loved the idea of the tandem ride, and the stakes. The way it ended also brought the book together so well.. I am so grateful for this ARC. I read this book in two days!

After facing setbacks including a broken engagement and her mother's illness, Charlotte Carter finds hope in her new job teaching music—until the program faces closure. Unexpectedly, she teams up with Zach Bryant, her brother's ex-fiancé, in a fake dating scheme to save the program. As they embark on a tandem bike journey to raise funds, Charlotte's perceptions shift, leading to a heartwarming adventure of romance and self-discovery.
"It's not the pale moon that excites me, that thrills and delights me. Oh no, it's just the nearness of yooou...."
An indoorsy girl falling for an outdoorsy man can only mean one thing: zany scenarios that left me snickering 🤭 But even though I love the crazy antics of a rom-com, I had to suspend disbelief a little too much. There were also a few Churchy references that normally I would have appreciated but, but these felt a little stereotypical. There was a secondary romance that was a super fun edition to this book! If you like playful opposites attract stories, you’ll love Zach and Charlotte’s romance.
Though I normally prefer adding in a male narrator for the MCC’s POV, I think only having one narrator for this book works because there are also chapters that feature Charlotte’s sister’s POV.

Charlotte has been having a difficult time in life, but her luck is changing. She sees Zach, her ex-fiance's brother, and sparks begin to fly.
I thought this was a cutesy book that was enjoyable to read.
Many thanks to Net Galley and RB Media for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
My first Christian romance!! I was nervous to review this book because my relationship with religion is very specific. I’ll preface by saying that I believe in God and usually keep my relationship with religion private. I do not identify with aspects of Christianity that use the Bible to spread hate.
I was so so so relieved to see that this book had one main character who was religious, but that religiousness was based around having faith, believing in miracles, and just a general loving relationship with a higher power (in this case it was God). The other main character doesn’t have a relationship with God, but is respectful towards religion. No spice whatsoever in this book, but I expected that, so that doesn’t hurt the review. :) They both struggle with their faith in some capacity. I think this was the perfect blend of what I expected a Christian romance to be. Based around religion, but the book itself wasn’t religious and had its own plot!! And no hateful bigotry! The first mention of God wasn’t until about 40% in.
Alright, plot things! As a school psych, this book had quite the intro that I think would make anyone in education chuckle. My job at the AEA is currently on the chopping block, so I understand the need to try to figure it all out. This book came to me at the perfect time. Someone find me a tandem bike!! The humor in this book is very reminiscent of sitcom humor. Cheesy, but not cringey.
As an Iowa transplant from Illinois, this was so fun to read! They mention the quad cities and Whities ice cream! Their adventure seems like a spin-off of Ragbrai which was so fun to read about.
This plot is juicy from the summary. Two brothers who end up each other’s exes?! Wild. Personally could never see this happening between my sisters and I, but more power to this family!
The last thing I have to say is, Melba Clarke is a gem and the mini storyline about her actually had me laughing out loud. The ending was unlike anything I could have predicted, so don’t think that you’ll guess the ending!
I received an Advanced Reader copy of this book in Audio format. Thought this book is told from three point of views, the main character, the other main character, and a sister, the voice actor is the same throughout. I personally like when the voice actor changes, but I still think the voice actor did a good job distinguishing who was talking. Definitely would recommend in either audiobook or ebook format. :) The narrator had a nice flow. Thank you, NetGalley!
Title: Love in Tandem By Becca Kinzer
Release Date: April,2nd 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars
"Love in Tandem" by Becca Kinzer is a delightful Christian romcom that had me grinning from ear to ear. With its humor, wit, and adorable moments, this book is a heartwarming journey that left me smiling throughout.
Charlotte Carter, content with her quiet life, finds herself facing unexpected challenges when her dream job teaching music is threatened by the imminent closure of the school's music program. Determined to save it, she embarks on a 500-mile road trip on a tandem bicycle with Zach Bryant, her brother's ex-fiancé. Despite their differences, they team up to raise funds for the program. Along the way, they confront their assumptions about each other and discover unexpected connections, leading them on a journey that goes beyond just winning a cash prize.
With its quirky characters and endearing romance, this story captivated me from the opening page. Kinzer's witty prose and captivating storytelling create a feel-good experience that kept me smiling through out.
Thank you to RB Media, Becca Kinzer & NetGalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.
Kinzer's writing is a welcome breeze of sweet fresh air from start to finish in Love in Tandem! You will be hooked from the first sentence, and want to stick around for relatable Charlotte and swoon-worthy Zach. Their laugh-out-loud predicaments leading up to their tandem bike ride (and slow-burn will they won't they relationship) will leave you smiling, and you'll find yourself cheering for the side characters as well! Add in cheesecake, hometown and small-town goodness, discovering yourself while adventuring (and did I mention a huge cash prize?), and you've got yourself a feel-good romance that will leave your heart fluttering!
I picked up this book because I liked the cover, I like romcoms and Christian fiction. Audiobooks are my jam, too. The story line is really cute. The pacing is a bit slow for the first half of the book. The narrator has a nice voice and can do many parts.
