If you have a child with an artistic bent in your orbit you can certainly interact more usefully to assist in developing those talents by working on the projects and ideas in this book. Supervision is strongly advised but there are simple things easily located for use in color, drawing, journaling, collages, and more. The suggestion is for ages 7-9, but the written learning discussions are ageless. I would definitely utilize it in group activities.
The illustrations by the author are exceptionally colorful, and this adds to the ability of the reader to retain the learning provided as they are imaginative, and delightful and FUN!
Well suited for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school, hospital, or your local public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from DK/DK Children via NetGalley. Thank you!

Make Art with Nature is a fun book! The book's pages are bright, colorful and have great photos/illustrations. Each section is full of ideas about using natural ingredients and supplies to make some great art projects. You'll learn about making paints colors and dyes from things like beets, turmeric, tea, coffee, charcoal, etc. And using onion peel papers, and making stamps out of things like lemons and other fruits/veggies. The book also has cool sections on using rocks and plants to make ink/paint- crushing them, getting them wet, etc. Very neat ideas for sure. I would recommend if you're interested in this type of artwork. Make Art with Nature is full of great and fun art ideas!

This is a fun, colorful book with lots of art activities for kids. It is not quite what I was hoping for, as I really wanted instructions for making art materials with foraged nature materials and this is mostly using kitchen materials, groceries, garden items and purchased materials. For instance, the homemade paints are made of spirulina powder, coffee grounds, turmeric, spinach, beets and so on, plus other ingredients like gum arabic and corn starch. The exception to this is the rocks and mud used for painting and drawing with found charcoal.

That said, it’s a lovely book packed with art inspiration and both simple and complicated projects. The author gives a lot of instruction on drawing and painting all different kinds of animals. There are also projects like solar dyeing, flower pounding and making cardboard stamps.

I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.

Drawing with rocks and minerals. It's the perfect companion for nature walks with little ones as it will keep them entertained the whole time.

This was a fun book to look through. Each page is packed full of different ideas and projects to create with things from nature. Each page is a work of art in itself. There is so much to see. My son is very excited to start looking for items outside to use. I especially enjoyed the sections on the use of color and different things you can use to create different colors. This book will definitely have you and your child motivated to get out and create!
