Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me and I decided to DNF (did not finish) it soon after starting it.

Mia never fails to hook you in with an amazing book. She is one of my favorite authors, and you won’t regret reading this book.

10* stars. I waited so long for this book and this author did not disappoint. The audiobook was perfect. The narrators made this love story even better. I was so happy to see that Gage got his HEA. And all the unexpected revelations were simply wonderful. A must read in this series.

DNF at 34%. I just couldn’t get into to. I wasn’t interested in the relationship or the outcome. 30% in I still felt like pretty much nothing had happened.

Falling for Gage is the third in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. This was a steamy open door, opposites attract story with a side of insta love. I know some don’t enjoy insta-love, but I’m that reader who actually doesn’t mind insta love at all, and prefer it in some instances.

WHAT TO EXPECT
-Opposites attract
-dual pov
-small town
-found family

*many thanks to Bloom Books and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

This was a bit of a miss for me. I kept losing interest in the story although I liked the characters. The narration was enjoyable and I would listen to audios by the narrators again.

Love this newest Pelion book from Sheridan. Her classic heartfelt story and love.
Love this book.

I loved Archer’s Voice and enjoyed Travis’s redemption. I kind of wished I paid a little more attention to Gage in Travis. I loved returning to Pelion and seeing my favorite characters. This one doesn’t exactly take place in Pelion but instead in the nearby town. It was an enjoyable read, but I can’t say it was my favorite. The pacing was a bit slow for me in places.

Rory and Gage have a one-night stand when he and his friends get stranded in her town. When she moves to search for her father, Gage is the last person she expects to run into. Their meet-cutes and the way she tries to avoid him were some of my favorite scenes. I enjoyed the air of mystery and the two working together and finding a few connections along the way.

I switched between the audiobook and the book while reading. Maeve York and Benjamin Sands do an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. You can’t go wrong listening to this one on audio.

i don’t know why i was so worried, this is absolutely different to archer’s voice (& thank god for that bcos i found that too lovey dovey & sad for my tastes - not that it’s bad since i rated it 4 stars, just not for me)

this however, is an utter vibe

i LOVEE their nicknames, i love how there’s a bit of mystery involved, love the small town romances!!

the only thing i think could have been better is the interpersonal relationships - while it was great, i felt like it could have been spectacular

also shoutout to the amazing maeve york & benjamin sands for doing an awesome job with the audiobook!

thanks so much to dreamscape media for the alc & finished review copy! all opinions are my own!

This book was quite entertaining – love the plot. Gage met Rory where she works as a cocktail waitress in a town a few hours away from his home. The chemistry was intense and they ended up having a one-night stand. They both enjoyed a good time thinking they never going see each other again, no harm no foul, right? Rory always felt something was missing in her life and she wants to find out about her past. She came probing around small town Calliope while pretending to be an art appraiser. Rory’s plan unraveled when she ran into Gage, said town’s rich boy. Gage has connections and Rory needs to come clean if she wants Gage’s help. I thought the storyline was interesting with Rory trying to unsolved the mystery regarding her father. The story tied to Mia’s previous books (Archer & Travis) – it was nice to revisit those characters again. I enjoyed the witty banters and the flirty chemistry between Gage and Rory. A surprise twist and the ending was perfect – came full circle. Small town romance with a touch of mystery and HEA for Gage. Love it!

3.5 ⭐️

I love love love Mia Sheridan and I’m one of her biggest fans, but this book just didn’t hit for me in the same way that her other ones have. I still enjoyed it but I felt a little disconnection between myself and this book that I don’t usually feel when reading her books. But this could very likely be because it took me longer to read than normal because I just started grad school and have a million things going on. I think if I had read this one more consistently and more at the same time it would probably be a 4 star read.

I would definitely recommend reading this book after you have already read Archers Voice and Travis. There are some storyline elements and characters from those ones that show up because this book is interconnected with the other two, which I didn’t realize going into it and was a fun surprise! It was so fun seeing the other characters from her books.

While this book was a romance, it had lots of fun mystery elements to it as well that kept me guessing and trying to figure things out.

There were also lots of parts of this book that were really cute and quotes that stuck out to me as well.

I also listened to this one on audio and the narration was great. I would definitely recommend listening to this one of you choose to read it.

Overall, I did enjoy this book but I just didn’t love it as much as some of Mia Sheridan’s others.

Tropes:
- right person wrong time
- mystery elements
- found family
- opposites attract
- lots of dogs !
- one night stand
- small town

. . . . . . . series info . . . . . . . .

Falling for Gage is part of a series of interconnected standalones. You see Gage in other books, and you’ll see a few characters from other books in this one. I haven’t read the other books, and I could understand everything just fine! But if you don’t want anything “spoiled” start with Archer’s Voice.

. . . . . . . book review . . . . . . . .

If you loved Archer’s Voice and Travis, I think you will absolutely love this one! Rory and Gage meet by chance when he ends up at her bar. They have a one night stand and assume that they will never meet again. But Rory finds out some information about her mysterious father - her mother never told her who he was - and ends up in his home town - posing as an art dealer. There’s a mystery that they are trying to solve about who her father was that most of the book is spent trying to solve.

*semi spoiler* While I enjoyed this book, and trusted that there would be an HEA, for a good portion of the book Gage’s father is on the suspect list for Rory’s mysterious father and that whole “did I sleep with my half sibling” went on way too long for me and gave me such an ick. *end spoiler*

Overall, I thought there was a good balance between the romance and the mystery, and I always love when the lovers have something to do together, forcing proximity while they are trying to fight feelings.

CW: There were discussions of mental illness that I didn’t love (but also didn’t hate) - there was a character that was described as just “mentally deteriorating” without a really solid conversation about diagnosis or treatment options. Mental health is really important, and modern medicine has treatment options, so I like to see a more nuanced conversation in the books I read. Y’all know I love a good third act breakup that includes people going to therapy to help work through the situation!

🎧 The dual narration was fantastic - both narrators fit their roles really well! This book does well as an audiobook.

A chance meeting is what brings Gage and Rory together. They might be from opposite backgrounds but none of that matters as their chemistry is 🔥 They both accept it’s a one night stand until they run into each other when Rory impersonates an art appraiser in Gage’s wealthy hometown. At first he thinks she’s a shyster until she discloses her reasons for being there. She’s uncovered within her mother’s diary a hand drawn portrait, which alludes to who her father could be. She’s in town to find him so Gage offers his help. There are factors that complicate anything further happening between them, but that doesn’t stop the longing. They’re so done for each other!

I loved this!! I was hooked from the start with both narrators keeping me locked in. They effortlessly channeled Gage and Rory’s awesome banter, flirtatious and spicy moments, and their emotional turmoil. Sheridan has written a touching story of wanting to belong, chasing dreams, and loyalty. And fans of her previous books will be happy to know that those characters make appearances here.

Highlights:
* Small town romance & spice
* Banter
* Found family
* Follow your dreams

After listening to this, I wonder how I’ve waited so long to experience a Mia Sheridan book. Good thing I’ve plenty of her books to read!

"Falling for Gage" is as much about finding oneself as it is about finding one's other half.

Both Gage Buchanan and Rory Casteel are busy living the lives they think they're supposed to. Gage is following in his father's footsteps, being groomed to take over the business that his father fought tooth and nail to build. And Rory, well... She's working in her family business as a means of giving back to her uncles who raised her after her mother died when she was eleven.

Neither of them have ever really considered what life they would want to live if they didn't have a debt of gratitude to pay to their families. But the problem is, while both are determined to pay their debt, neither are really happy. Rory continually feels a pull to go elsewhere. And Gage, well... What he wants is so long buried, he barely remembers. At least, he barely remembers until a chance encounter with Rory one night reminds him of his first love, cooking.

And after one spectacular night spent together (in more ways than one), they each going their separate ways thinking there could be nothing more to the experience than this one night of sheer delight. The problem is, neither of them can get the other off their mind. And there's not much of a chance of things going anywhere between them either. Gage is due to leave for London soon to open up the newest installation of his father's company, while Rory is mired in the mud of the town she grew up in with no hope of ever leaving.

But a series of circumstances make them both wonder if they're selling themselves short. And I really enjoyed the exploration as they each tried to figure out what it is that they wanted most out of life, and what it would take for them each to summon up the courage to pursue it.

I really enjoyed the characters, locale and storyline of this book, and even though it's part of a series, it's the first book in the series that I've read and it worked fine as a standalone. I will definitely be looking out for future installments!

Thank you to Mia Sheridan, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

Falling For Gage by Mia Sheridan

My rating:
3.5/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Audiobook Review:

I will admit I was not very emotionally attached to the two main characters in this one. I can’t say if it was because of the narration or not, but the narrators weren’t my favorite. Sometimes I feel like when someone narrates the story they can add emotional components to their diction and expressions while some just read from a page and I felt like this story was the latter.

Overall I really enjoyed the ending of this one and how it came full circle with Archer’s Voice and Travis. You can read this one as a stand alone but if you want some backstory with other characters, read those two first.

I really love Mia Sheridan’s writing style and emotional components in her storytelling but this story was not my favorite of hers. It may have been different if I read it versus listening.

Thank you netgalley and Dreamscape media for the ARC! You can read or listen to this one now as it is out now!

So wonderful to jump back into this world that Mia Sheridan has created. I loved the heartfelt romance, the moments of humor/levity, and seeing beloved characters on the page once again.

I love all the books I’ve read by Mia and this is no different. Such an amazing book and I can’t wait for her next one! Just like every other book I’ve read by her, it felt like a movie in my ears. The narrators are amazing

Mia Sheridan is a staple on my shelf. I love everything she has written and the variety of her books and that she is not afraid to touch on subjects that others find taboo. With this book, though it is part of the series, including Archer's Voice and Travis, you do not have to read those books to read this one, though you will see characters from those two in this one. I love the continuation of the series, especially since in many books we never do find out what happens to some of the characters we come to love. I loved the narrators of this audiobook and they drew me in from the beginning. They told the story well. I highly recommend the whole series. 4.5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free audiobook of Falling for Gage by Mia Sheridan in exchange for my honest review.

Mia Sheridan is such a hit or miss author for me. I was really anticipating this one after Travis and was nervous it wouldn’t live up to my expectations but it definitely did. It was so so good, I really loved Gage! The characters felt very similar to the ones in Travis, but I didn’t find I minded that. This is a Mia Sheridan book that is definitely worth the read!

DNF'd Falling for Gage at 13%. I may circle back at a later date, but I wasn't feeling the insta-lust trope right now. I've loved Mia Sheridan's other books, so it may just be a timing issue for me right now. The narrators Maeve York and Benjamin Sands are incredible, though. Their performances are great, and not part of why I chose to stop listening. Thank you Dreamscape Media for my ALC.
