Anything to do with serial killing and NASA, I'm pretty sure you can sign me up for. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, it was a stand out for me. The sci-fi element was heavy, but understandable and I think that's a great thing to accomplish. I feel a lot of sci-fi books lose people due to the world building and such.

The premise of the book intrigued me - a serial killer who joins NASA and goes to space. Unfortuanatley, I was let down. The part that interested me the most (the whole NASA/goes to Mars thing) made up such a small portion of the book. The story also jumped round a lot, which made it a bit difficult to follow at times, especially at the start (I actually considered DNFing in the first chapter but I decided to give it a bit longer because it felt like it existed to quickly give a lot of background information) and more again towards the end. This book has so much potential. I wish the shorter bits where we quickly jump elsewhere and the bits about NASA and Mars were more fleshed out. The fact that there wasn't much reason to care about our main character didn't help either. I was surprised when I found myself enjoying the parts of the FBI agent more...

The best of luck to the author in all future endeavours and I hope he finds his audience!
