Georgina Cross returns following One Night with her latest domestic suspense, MY PERFECT HUSBAND. A husband and wife with missing siblings. Both are hiding secrets in their marriage of the past. Can they trust one another?

Lauren and Alex are married and both graphic designers. Lauren lost her sister years ago, and her body has not been found. Alex also has a missing brother, Clive.

Years later, Lauren's dad is in an assisted living facility, and her mom has passed. Then the news comes. Ellie's body was found in New Orleans. There is an investigation.

Strangely, photos are found with Ellie. Alex and Clive. What is the connection between Clive, Alex, and Ellie? Alex had told Lauren he did not know her sister. What is going on?

However, Lauren and Alex hide their secrets in New Orleans. What are they hiding, and what happened to Ellie and Clive?

MY PERFECT HUSBAND features unreliable narrators and unlikable characters. Nothing is as it appears. Both are lying, and both have buried secrets from the past. How far will they go to keep their secrets?

Which one will confess?

The book's one highlight was its New Orleans setting. However, I found it very repetitive and slow.

I read the e-book and listened to the audiobook narrated by Stephanie Cannon. While the narration was fine, I just could not get into this book, and it was not for me. Of the few I have read, I came away with the same opinion. Her books are not for me; however, I am sure they have a particular audience.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fast paced, entertaining popcorn thriller. Some fun twists and it kept me guessing. I went with the audiobook which was narrated by Stephanie Cannon and it was well done.

Lauren's sister disappeared many years ago. Her husband has helped through the grief of it. When the police find her sister's body, there is a faded picture in her pocket. Lauren's husband is in the picture with his arm around her sister. Why was he with her before her death?! What does her husband know about her sister's death? If you enjoy Freida McFadden, then I definitely think you'll also enjoy this one!

Out May 16.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love an unreliable narrator and Lauren did not disappoint in that role! We get a lot of information from her perspective. But is it accurate?

Lauren and Alex seem like a perfect couple. Beyond their love, they are connected by the fact that they both had siblings go missing.

It’s been years since Lauren’s sister Ellie disappeared in NOLA. But Lauren still holds out hope they will find her and tries to figure out what happened that day. She’ll never give up trying to find out what happened.

To say I was sucked into this one is an understatement. It was so twisty! Clues were sprinkled throughout for the reader - but remember, Lauren is unreliable. So you don’t know what to believe.

As the story unfolds, you will think you have everything figured out. If you’re like me, you won’t!!

And her perfect husband, Alex? Well that’s a whole other story and he has some secrets of his own. And THE ENDING!!!

I can’t give too much away so as not to spoil anything!

If you love a good domestic psychological thriller, grab this one. You won’t be disappointed!

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture, along with Georgina Cross and Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse for an ARC and allowing me to be a part of this tour.

The book is suspenseful and twisted. The writing is compelling. The plot twists were unpredictable. The revelation at the end was terrifying and unsettling. The truth is shocking and twisted.

Ellie went missing some years ago.. no one really knows If she is even alive. Lauren wanted to find her and bring her home. Her hope dies when she receives a call from the officer and he says that we have found your sister’s body. But what’s more terrifying is that Ellie kept photos of her, Alex and Clive. Is she trying to give clue of her killer? Lauren is in such a dilemma, has she married her sister’s killer? Lauren’s become suspicious if he is hiding something and he have something to confess. Since Ellie’s disappearance, he has taken care of everything, he tries to share her pain and put the broken pieces of her heart together but is he really what he appears to be? The truth was so twisted. I didn’t see the plot twists coming.

Many Thanks to Author and Publisher

Georgina Cross is already one of my favorite authors because of her writing style. This book was no different. Characters you love or love to hate. A plot that will snag you from the first chapter and have you up past your bedtime.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #MyPerfectHusband by #GeorginaCross. This book is about a missing sister whose remains have just been found and my husbands picture was found in her pocket. Did my husband kill my sister? I devoured this book in one sitting. I had to know how this was al related together. Omg, it has so many twists that I got dizzy. HIGHLY recommend.

My Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Right off the bat, I am going to admit that my problems with this one were entirely "me" problems that other people may be able to overlook. As a matter of fact, after taking a quick glance at the other reviews, I see I am in the minority with my thoughts on this book. But that's okay. Not every book is for every reader.

To begin with, I didn't find Lauren or Alex to be particularly likable characters, especially the farther into the story that I got. Even when the "truth" comes out, I still didn't see a reason for them to act the way that they did towards one another. And while I completely understand why the author decided to go the route they did, I also didn't feel the urgency that I think I was supposed to feel. In fact, it took me a long while to finish this one simply because I found it easy to put it down and go off to do something else.

As the story continued, I was also a little floored by the way it seemed that the police (both the original investigating officers as well as the new detective on the case) just seemed to let Lauren (and at the time her family) investigate on their own. I mean, I suppose it's different in a missing person case, but Lauren talks about having a binder where she has copied the original detective's notes, and how she has copies of the original reports and how she and her family in fact interviewed people. It was just weird. And then Lauren is called back to New Orleans once her sister is found and is once again allowed to just kind of run off and do her own thing.

Now to be fair, up until this point I was leaning towards 2.5 maybe even 3 stars because while I wasn't exactly glued to the pages, I didn't give up on it either. But then the book ended and ...... well. If that wasn't the biggest load of bullshit I've ever read.

*** SPOILER ALERT TO READ HIGHLIGHT THE TEXT WITH YOUR MOUSE ***

So they were both there leading up to the deaths of their siblings. So what if they were both there the night they died. What I don't understand is how they can be charged with obstruction of justice (and all the other bullshit charges they were being threatened with) if (going by their stories, some parts which are fact, some parts that are fiction), they weren't anywhere near the scene when the pair died. The police have no proof in fact that either party was there to witness it, much less be involved in it or have information on it.

And then it ends with Lauren wondering which one of them would rat the other out first. So essentially as far as we know, the book ended on a cliff-hanger as we don't know the actual outcome of the police investigation. Do they have a united front on they were there, but left before their siblings died, or do they turn on each other?

The not knowing just pisses me off.

*** END SPOILER ALERT***

A very interesting premise with lots of secrets! Lauren has been looking for her sister for twelve years while her husband has also been searching for his missing brother. Two people who seemingly randomly meet, fall in love and marry. Do they know who the other one is? Do they know what happened to their siblings? Lots of red herrings to enjoy along the journey!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

Okay, I was reading this book thinking I knew what was going to happen but then there was a huge shift midway through that I didn’t expect! There were some good red herrings and twists and I loved that the characters were morally grey. Makes you think about just how well you know someone and what secrets they could be hiding!

The story was a quick, easy read and the pacing was good. The ending was left a bit open-ended which I am not a huge fan of but the build up to it was satisfying. The New Orleans setting was a good one as I could envision the streets that the characters walked along. Made me feel part of the story.

Thanks to the publisher for this complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

I will post on my social media book accounts next week (week of May 6) and on Amazon on pub day.

⭐️Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own, I was under no obligation to review.

Georgina Cross is one of my go to authors. No need to read the blurb, I know that I want to read her books. So I went blind I to this.

Family dramas! Just my cup of tea! I had so much fun reading this book. The writing was up to par, like always. I really enjoyed this, even if the story line sounds crazy… “My sister is dead…Did I marry her killer?” I mean can it get any better?

I once again say this, but Bookouture, please stop spoiling your books in the blurbs. That’s a trend I’ve noticed with them and it’s annoying. So I definitely would say, skip the blurb and read the book, because it’s worth it!

I really enjoyed the fast pace, these are my favourite kind of thrillers. I also enjoyed the dual time line. The ending came with a bang and I did not suspect it. Do I smell I sequel?! 🫣🤔

It was the first book by Georgina Cross that I read and... what a thrill! From the first minute, this thriller gripped me so much! A family drama, surrounding a couple whose respective siblings disappeared, but the truth is that they both know more about it than one would initially suppose. A book at a completely frenetic pace, full of secrets and twists that I could never anticipate!

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this book in advance. Eager to read more titles!

Wow where do I begin?! This book had me on the edge of my seat and wondering what happens next with each turn of the page. Not to mention the twist at the end which made me want a sequel. I felt like I was there in New Orleans with Lauren and Alex as they each explained their experience. Excellent and creative storyline and likable characters. Stop what you’re doing and read this book!

I abandoned my ‘Last Girl’ theme so I could check out this book! There was so much buzz about it, I was starting to get FOMO even though I knew I had the book. Let me tell you, it is so hard to resist diving into these books when everyone is talking about them! This is my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last! I already had a few on my TBR but went and added the rest of them! I could not put this book down. This book kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. I love how the story was told in past and present tense. The story was woven together well, making you think one thing and then the twist hits. Reading everything from Lauren’s point of view really amps up the anxiety. This is a great whodunnit and quick read. Huge thanks to Georgina Cross and Bookouture for my #gifted copy

I love a thriller that stems around marital secrets and this one didn't disappoint. I flew through this one so fast, I couldn't wait to see how it all unfolded. The twists were soooo good, absolutely perfect.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. I loved the plot of the main character finding out that her husband knew her sister, and may be involved in her disappearance. Lots of secrets fill this book! I found it a little slow to get to what was happening, but loved the twists and turns and mystery!

This was a fast-paced domestic thriller that kept me questioning every piece of evidence and every suspect until the very end. It also is yold in a few dual timelines which adds more suspense and backstory. I definitely didn't see any of that coming, but THAT ENDINGGGGGGG.🫨🫨🫨🫨

Lauren's sister has been missing for over a decade and her husband has always understood how she has felt. He has a missing sibling as well, so he understands the void and the pain of trying to continue holding out hope with every day that passes. One phone call and the case is back in the spotlight with her sisters body having been found in an abandoned old building. Determined to solve this one, the detective starts digging into and calling into question the events on that night. When sends Lauren a photo that was found on her sister, her heart stops and she cannot believe her eyes. He wants to know if she recognizes either male in this photo? It had to have been taken the morning of her disappearance, but how and why? How is this even possible? Calling into question everything she knows about that night, she heads to New Orleans determined to get to the bottom of finding out the truth of what happened. As the case progresses more photos surface and secrets that were meant to never surface are now calling into question everything that was known about that night. This was a fast paced twisted thriller. Thank you to the author and Netgalley for the complementary ebook. Excited to be collaborating with Thriller Book Lovers the Pulse to bring awareness to this amazing read! This review is of my own opinion and accord.

It's actually a 4,5 star for me, but that wasn't an option :(.
The book was so good!!! The first half was a little slower in my opinion and there didn't happen that much. So it took me a while to go through that, but once I was like 60-70% in I was hooked!!
At the end there were so many plottwists, I totally did not expect anything that happened to be honest.

It is written in the POV of Lauren (the main character). It was the perfect length. It took me a while to read it, but I was very busy and also in a reading slump, so this influenced the durance of my reading. I think it can be a perfect quick thriller to read. I loved how there were flashbacks in the chapters, the flashbacks gave some more insights.

I am not a big thriller reader but I would totally recommend this, especially if thriller is newer for you. If you liked The Housemaid by Freida McFadden I am sure you will love this too!
