This was a great book - it shows the depths of what a parent will do to protect their children, even when it crosses boundaries that would otherwise never be tested. A lot of research obviously went into the son's disease. I think the author was able to capture the painful growing pains of adolescence coupled with being sick, the over protectiveness of one parent and the emotional detachment of the other.parent.
