An interesting premise, contemporary romance with a twist. However it was a little flat and repetitive at times.

Oh After a long I have read a good romance book.
This is the story of Madelyn who is a event planner and has a charm of shaping dream events into reality.. But what will happen when her own dream world collapses.
She discovers that her husband has betrayed her and it turns her world upside down. She is dealing with her mental stress while making sure that she does justice to her profession. After all your life turmoil can’t affect other people’s dream weddings.
While she deals with her fragile emotions because of her unfaithful husband she encounters the most enigmatic persona Jake..
Jake has an aura..he is shadowy.. wrapped with secrets. As Jake and Madelyn develop feelings, she discovers a dark truth about Jake which again shakes her beliefs about love and trust.
This book is all about how Madelyn deals with such twisted emotions, and how strongly she emerges. When life throws tough situations, you often discover that you are more stronger than you thought.
The author beautifully wraps the story and layers the emotions in a velvet cloth.. fragile yet strong.. the narrative is like a poetic flow.. there is no dull moment in the story and thats what makes it beautiful.
Will wait for Book 2 ♥️♥️
The character in this story has Chestnut Hair colour..🤩
QOTD: Do you dedicated follow a hair care routine??
DNF for me.
Started off with high hopes for this book, however the repetitiveness of it was absolutely jarring. It was all tell and no show and unfortunately it's not worth me putting more time in to it.
Thank you to NetGalley and The Paper House for this ARC in exchange for an honest and fair review.

"Velvet Shadows" follows Madelyn, a wedding planner, facing a dilemma between her husband Steve's past betrayals and her attraction to Jake, whom she meets by chance at a bookstore. Complicating matters is Dylan Dalton, a mysterious millionaire who enters Madelyn's life, adding complexity to her personal and professional life. As passion and mystery intertwine, Madelyn must navigate unexpected choices and revelations, leading to a tale where past wounds collide with new connections.
Despite the novel's strengths, such as its engaging plot filled with twists and turns, I found myself struggling to fully immerse in the story. Despite my efforts, I couldn't shake the feeling of being only partially captivated. Despite my desire to become engrossed in the narrative, I ultimately couldn't establish a strong connection with it.
Thank you to The Paper House, The Author Lorain Rizk & NetGalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.
