An interesting book about the Great American Song book writers. I felt that I learned a lot and that was great but it felt a little more like a textbook to me rather than the sort of storytelling non fiction that I personally enjoy so I think that’s why I didn't love it but if you’re interested in that era and how and why songs from then are made and why they have such a long lasting effect on us then I would definitely give this a go!

Very impressed with amount of detail about these songs and appreciated the ‘title information at end of each chapter. My only question is if there are enough people who care about these songs? Can’t imagine people under 60 who would.Thanks to #NetGalley and #Sayitwithabeautifulsong.

As someone who appreciates the art of the song and songwriting I am thrilled to be able to acquire this book which in depth explains the art and history of songwriting. Perfect for music lovers or those who want to know more about the art and craft of music.
