Not only can I not cultivate an honest review on 4 chapters but I'm struggling to get into said 4 chapters. I'm a little bored. I'll be putting this book back on my tbr shelf until the entire book is released.

So cute, I wish I could keep going! Looking forward to picking it up next month.

Though I know the plot will focus on the new addition and the ongoing larger political/social developments of the world, I’m most intrigued that this installment is told with a focus on Arthur rather than Linus, and also to see the kids from the first book developing into older kids, preteens, and teenagers, and all the new parenting challenges that are sure to come with that.

I wish I would have known this was just a preview - I so wanted to get back into the cozy world of this series and was excited to read the whole thing. Will be waiting for pub date in a few weeks to finish the story!

This excerpt was just enough to remind me what I loved about its predecessor. TJ Kline is a master of reeling readers in right away and taking them for a ride that will leave them breathless with hope and joy.

The first four chapters have me absolutely feral for the rest of the story. I can't wait to be back with these characters!

So so so so excited for this book. It going to be so hard to wait weeks for the rest! Can’t wait to see more of these characters we’ve come to love and see them grow and change more and maybe change the people around them too!

I love The House in the Cerulean Sea so I was so excited to read the follow up. This is an excerpt of the forthcoming book, but it got me so excited to read the full book when it comes out in September.
This book is still about Arthur and Linus and we get to see them interact with the children while they get ready to testify in front of the committee regarding the care of magical children. The story feels so familiar and brings back all of the characters from the first book.

This is my most anticipated book of the year. I requested off work on pub day to make sure I could fully enjoy this one. I was completely ecstatic to see Somewhere Beyond the Sea on NetGalley, but I admittedly did not realize it was only an excerpt of the novel. I'm not one to enjoy "spoilers" so I haven't wanted to read any of this for having to stop just a few chapters in. If this was the entire book, I would have devoured it the moment it dropped onto my Kindle.

While this was only a small piece of a larger story I'm more excited than ever to read this sequel!!

Oh my heart 🥹. I have never been so happy to be reunited with a storyline and with specific characters in my life. This is book 2 of Cerulean Chronicles!

This is an itty bitty excerpt from the new book by @tjklune and I damn near squealed out loud when I was approved for this! Even if it is just an excerpt.

The audiobook is narrated by the same narrator as The House In The Cerulean Sea and he is utterly perfect. The voices he uses for all of these endearing and unique characters has me feeling like they are real people that I just want to jump inside these pages to hug.

And now that I’ve gotten a sneaky peek I will for SURE be adding to cart as soon s the full version is available, which it looks like is happening on September 10th!

THANK YOU to Netgalley, Macmillan Audio, Tor Publishing, and the author for these excerpts in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This is one of my most anticipated reads this year! I read The House in the Cerulean Sea 2 years ago and loved it, so I was truly excited to be able to get access to the first 4 chapters of the sequel. I love TJ Klune's writing style and his story telling. It is just so magical, humorous, and heart wrenching all at the same time. I really enjoyed this sneak peak and I am beyond excited to read the book in it's entirety!

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing for the digital excerpt.

Excerpt. Little bitty snippet of the new TJ Klune book, Somewhere Beyond the Sea. We get to go back to Marsyas Island and this is Arthur's story. Can't wait to read the whole thing!!! (Will totally be recommending it once I get to read the entire book!)

*Special thanks to NetGalley and Tor for this excerpt.*

This excerpt got me excited for the full novel! It has all the charm that The House in the Cerulean Sea did and I can't wait to read more!

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing for the digital excerpt.

I thought at first I downloaded this incorrectly but I now see the word “excerpt.” Fail on my part. Fortunately, I’ve already preordered copies, one for myself and one for my classroom library. I think I’ll have our media specialist order more because students will love this sequel!!! This has the same magic of the first book.

When I requested this e-ARC I honestly didn’t realize it was just the book's first four chapters, and now that I’ve read those, I know I will need to read the whole thing. So, that’s a good indication that I enjoyed this excerpt.

Last year I read The House in the Cerulean Sea with my book club, and I loved it more than I expected to. As someone who doesn’t read a lot of fantasy and magical realism, the world of Marsyas Island opened up a special place in my heart. If there’s one thing TJ Klune knows how to write, it’s the found family trope.

This book kicks off almost immediately where the last one ended, and I was delighted to be plunged right back into that world. Reading this felt like the closest thing to an actual hug. We get a reintroduction to each beloved character, as well as the potential for a new member of the family. So now, I have to count down the days until I actually get to meet that new character…

Big thanks to Tor Books and NetGalley for providing this excerpt – however, I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t the full book and I wish that were a little more transparent when I requested it.

Another standout work from TJ Klune! This novel keeps the magic and love of the previous one. It puts the spotlight on Arthur, a much beloved character. I loved seeing Linus and Arthur's fully fledged relationship and the love of the children in their care that they shared. Seeing the mayor and Zoe's relationship blossom after it being introduced in the first book was amazing too. It was an emotional read for me, especially after hearing Klune speak in April about how this was a book for the trans community. What a timely and important book that we all need. I can't wait for everyone to get a chance to read this! I hope TJ Klune comes to Georgia again.

This excerpt made me even more interested in the book coming out in just a few weeks! Continuing one of my favorite books of all time? Yes please!

Simply put, this excerpt made me even more excited, and impatient, for Somewhere Beyond the Sea to be released. Needless to say, I will be running to the bookstore after work on the 10th of September, and I recommend that everyone does the same, especially if you have read The House on the Cerulean Sea!
