Thanks NetGalley and Tor Publishing for letting me read an excerpt of this book! I’m so excited to finish it in September!

I was thrilled to have the opportunity for a sneak peak of this sequel as I adored the first book. This excerpt was a quick read with more great whimsical descriptions of the island and scenery. The political themes make this book seem a little less like YA but it's hard to tell from just the excerpt. I am excited to read the full story Thanks to Tor Publishing Group and NetGalley for the advanced excerpt!

Didn't know this was an excerpt, but I'm excited nonetheless to enter back into this world! Klune has a unique way of making you want to empathize and be a better human.

At first I didn't realize that this was an excerpt. It picks ups very close to where the first book in the series left off, with all of our favorite characters, I am eager to know where it will go - it did seem a bit less whimsical than the first book and more like there is going to be an undertone of politics in the storyline. We'll see, I'm hoping that it is just as good as the first.

Thank you to Netgalley & Tor Publishing Group for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This sneak peek dropped me right back into the warm, fuzzy, loving feelings I had while reading The House in the Cerulean Sea. I was quickly reminded how much I love these characters. I love the quick and quippy dialog of the children! These quick four chapters lead us up to Arthur preparing to testify in front of the nation’s leaders to defend the magical world. Thank you NetGalley and Tor Books for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review. It’s going to be very difficult to wait for pub day to arrive this fall!!

This excerpt previews a story just as warm and heartwarming as the first. It’s exiting to get more of Arthur’s story. I look forward to the full release.

T.J. Klune has a knack for writing lovely characters, and I'm so glad to be reuinted with the crew on the Cerulean Sea. This book picks up beautifully just after where The House on the Cerulean Sea left off. I found myself immediately drawn back in, & I was so upset by where the excerpt ends. I cannot wait to get my hands on the full copy in September.

Thanks to Tor Publishers & Netgalley for the excerpt!

**Will share to Instagram closer to the release date. **

What a tease!!! I knew it was an excerpt going in, but that doesn't change the fact that I cannot WAIT to read this in its entirety. Klune has created a world that I want to know all about. Characters that are so thoughtful and well crafted. And a story that all our hearts need so desperately right now. September better get here yesterday! In the meantime, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a full galley version!

I'm so feral for this series that I can hardly contain my excitement for this installment. If this excerpt is any indication, this one will be right up there with my love for the first book. September needs to hurry up!!

Got a 4 chapter excerpt from NetGalley and can’t wait to read the rest of the book! Assuming I will likely change this to 5 stars after reading the whole book, let's be real! Honestly, I was so excited that another book of this series was coming out I couldn't wait to read the excerpt. It is going to be so nice to learn more about Arthur ;)

This excerpt makes me pumped to read this in the fall. TJ Klune takes us right back to the world of The House in the Cerulean Sea with the same lovable characters we got to know and adore. The writing is fresh and perfect for this sequel. Can't wait to read more.

I NEED THE REST OF THIS BOOK MORE THAN I NEED AIR TO BREATHE! I LOVEEEE these characters and am so happy to be back with them! I want to be a part of their family. Of course this excerpt leaves us on a cliffhanger, but no worries as I will drop everything in my life to read this book when it comes out! Amazing! 5 stars! No notes! Also give me TJ’s grocery list cause I will read anything this man writes! Thank you for this advanced excerpt and I can’t wait to finish the book when it publishes!

This was amazing, of course. I WANT IT ALL RIGHT NOWWWWW. If you have read the first book in this series, The House in the Cerulean Sea, you will know exactly what I am talking about. If you haven't, what on earth are you waiting for? You have lots of time to read it before this comes out! Really, any TJ Klune book is amazing and worth the read.

I absolutely adored The House on the Cerulean Sea, so when I saw this excerpt for the following book, I just had to try and get approved on NetGalley. Imagine my surprise when I got approved - I could’ve screamed, I was so excited! I didn’t realize it was possible to tear up at a 4 chapter excerpt. These characters know how to pull on my heart strings. And Chauncey had me physically laughing 😂

It starts in the past with Arthur Parnassus returning for the first time to the house on Marsyas island, 28 years after his childhood there. From there, Arthur and Zoe started fixing up the home we all came to love that was eventually filled with the children that stole our hearts. Fast forward to today, Arthur and Linus have to go to the city - they are going to speak against government programs designed for magical beings. The inclusivity and diversity makes my heart so happy!

A quote from the book spoken by Arthur that I loved so much: “But this isn’t just about me or even us. It’s about the wider magical world, and what we want going forward. The changes that must be made. The laws that must be repealed to make way for a world where anyone and everyone has a chance to be free to do with their lives what they wish.”

I’m so excited to read the rest of this and I’m bummed I have to wait til September for the rest. TJ Klune’s writing might just be some of my favorite.

I highly recommend to anyone who is in search for a book that feels like a warm hug. Start with The House on the Cerulean Sea and add Somewhere Beyond The Sea to your TBR list for a cozy Fall 2024 read!
Thank you NetGalley for giving me the amazing opportunity to read this excerpt in exchange for an honest review.

Get ready for an exhilarating ride with Somewhere Beyond the Sea! TJ Klune kicks things off with a fascinating glimpse into Arthur Parnassus’s past. We soon find ourselves peeking into the charming life of Arthur and Linus on their enchanting island, where the kids adore them both.

But the real adventure begins when Arthur and Linus head back to the city, determined to fight for equality for their magical children and others who live in fear. Just as they arrive at their crucial hearing, a jaw-dropping twist shakes everything up. This story is packed with surprises, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!

As Linus Baker settles into new life in Marsyas with Arthur, Zoe, and six magical children; he knows Arthur has bigger and better plans for life on the island. Arthur and Linus travel back to the big city from where Linus hails, to defend and protect the children, school, and island they love. They aim to seek justice and equality for all magical people, and to shed light on secrets Arthur has kept from his upbringing on Marsyas, which have had a tremendous impact on his life as an adult. Armed with the truth and ready to fight for what they believe in; Arthur and Linus arrive in the city to find out that things aren’t as they seem as they ready themselves to testify in front of the government.
The beginning chapters of this book show the growth of the six children since the end of Book 1, and detail how well Linus has grown accustomed to life on Marsyas since leaving his job at DICOMY. Readers are left wondering why the government is divided on whether to allow magical adults and youth to have the same rights and non magical beings, and what is at stake when Linus and Arthur ready themselves to face the establishment that has created the division and aims to disrupt peace even more.

I didn't realize that this was just an excerpt and so I was pretty disappointed to not get access to the entirety of the whole book. Will that stop me from reading it when it comes out? No. Do I wish I could have read the whole thing right now? Yes. Looking forward to it though!

I was so excited to see this book available that I didn’t know it was only an excerpt, so it’s a little disappointing to have to stop early on. That being said, what I’ve read so far is absolutely amazing!! I love these characters so much and I’m so excited to read the rest of this story.
