I loved being back in the atmosphere of this world! While Somewhere Beyond the Sea is already more intense than the House in the Cerulean Sea, the characters are just as engaging and loveable. I'm anxious to see where the story goes and how the trial resolves. I hope the hopeful triumphant nature of The House in the Cerulean Sea perseveres in the end, but no matter the details of the tale, I'm certain we're all in for a good story!

I know it’s just an excerpt but I’m just so invested already and I’m desperate to know what happens next. Seeing Arthur’s side is a fascinating and revealing experience and I can’t wait to read more just as soon as possible.

It’s so good to be back in this world of magic of one of my favorite books. Reading these first few chapters reminded me just how much I’ve missed these characters and the found family they’ve created. It was nice getting a little snippet of Arthur’s return to the island so many years ago. I hope we get to see more of the earlier years with these characters and are able to see the growing pains of creating their family. I enjoyed the little moments between Arthur and Linus settling in to their relationship and balancing each other out when parenting the kids. AND THE KIDS. ugh I just love them so much. The scene of chaos in the kitchen and getting to see all the little interactions between the siblings in the first chapter just throws you back into the dynamic of this family and have crazy and wonderful they all are. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of this book!!

I'm glad that we're getting this part of the story from Arthur's viewpoint rather than Linus'. As the "magical being" it makes the most sense to set this story with him as the main storyteller. I love being back with the children on the island and I can feel their hope and trepidation at what the future holds. I loved the first book and I know I am already going to love this book so much.

It was a brief read but I was eager to keep turning the page. I entered a goodreads giveaway hoping to secure the whole book! That should tell you something!

Firstly, I should have foreseen that this would end on a cliffhanger. I was enjoying it just a little too much and they had to leave me desperately wanting more. I adored the first book, the found family, the wholesomeness, the silly children and Arthur and Linus just ugh it was great. This excerpt had all of that but I just loved it so much. From the 4 chapters I read I actually enjoyed it more than the first book somehow. It was just so silly I loved how much about the children it was because they have a 10/10 silly factor. I love Lucy and Chauncey so much. I can’t say anything bad about this. I just need to know what’s going to happen!!!! Come on Arthur I believe in you !!! You got this!! Get that boy and help those people.

Also I just looked and book 2 isn’t released until September, so I suppose I have quite a long wait.

4 chapters and I’m already deeply invested! These characters had me in a chokehold from the first book and now, seeing how they’ve evolved, I feel like the story is really just getting started. TJ has such a way of describing characters, locations and emotions that make using your imagination insanely simple. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book asap!!

This was an excellent first 4 chapters and I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the book! This series is top tier and I’m obsessed. One of the best cozy fantasies!

I am thoroughly enjoying the book thus far. I will say I was nervous reading the opening thinking it would be a prequel and was slightly confused until it changed back to where the first book left off. The buildup to the kitchen scene also was a little confusing to read, did time change? Was not too clear. The recap on the characters was nice for those of us who read the first book when it was released. Writing and descriptions very well done.

With the little snippet of the book I have read I am so excited for this book to be released! To learn more about Arthur will be so exciting! Can’t wait for the release!
