I've been very excited to read Somewhere Beyond the Sea since it was announced and this excerpt made me even more excited. I got a little emotional just getting to spend a little more time with these delightful characters. In these first few chapters: I laughed out loud multiple times, got teary-eyed, and became totally invested in the plot. I can not wait to read the full book and I think we're in for some great (and very relevant) themes!

It was so lovely being back in the world I adore so much. Eagerly awaiting the full story. I am confident that it will be as beloved as the first in this series.

I’m so beyond happy that we get another book set in the world of The House in the Cerulean Sea. The first book was one of my favourite reads last year so I can’t believe we get to continue the story through Arthur’s point of view. This sequel was everything I dreamed of and more. T.J Klune knows how to transport you into another magical world and I’m happy to be back on Marsyas Island. The writing is unbelievable and the storyline is heartwarming, This book is as beautiful and amazing as the first one!

I need more! This was such a delightful little preview into these characters I love dearly. I’ve been begging for a sequel and here it is. Cannot wait for the whole book to gobble down as fast as I gobbled this preview up!

Lovely and heart warming, just like the first one. Arthur is a compelling and interesting character, and I want to read about all of his adventures!

I absolutely love Arthur, Linus, and the children. This was a great preview into their continuing story. I can't wait to read the entire thing when it comes out because somehow this glimpse into this book is even better than I expected and I expected a five star read. I wish I could give it more than five stars. September can't get here fast enough!!

I absolutely adore Arthur and Linus and these children. This is one of my most anticipated books of this year, and this excerpt has me so excited to read the full book. It felt like a warm hug being back in this world. TJ Klune is such a vivid writer, and I can’t wait to see where the entire story goes.

Aghhhh oh my gosh I adore this series so much!! It was an absolute delight to return to this cozy world and these beloved characters. This little snippet had all the things I loved about the first book - humor, heart, and whimsy. The found family vibes are so strong in this book. Somehow this snippet made me more emotional than book 1 did just by showing how far all the characters had come in their journey and how much of a true family they've become 🥹. I adored this snippet and I cannot wait to get my hands on the full book!

Didn’t realize this was an excerpt. Good so far, but unable to truly give a review due to this being an excerpt. 4 stars for the author’s writing style.

Dang just an excerpt but that’s okay! TJ Klune hasn’t disappointed me yet so I’m excited to read the full book when it comes out. Pacing seems slow but the Cerulean Sea also felt that way! Can’t wait to see more development and continuous story!

I was so excited to see this, thank you NetGalley! While I can't wait to finish the book when it comes out, the pacing so far is a bit slow and the whimsy carried over from the first is there but it feels a little forced this time around. TJ Klune has never disappointed me so I'm eager to see if my thoughts on the pacing will change.

I got fooled by an excerpt, SOB! Excited for this book regardless, but NetGalley needs to have a big excerpt icon or something, LOL.

While a little heavy-handed, these first four chapters are absolutely delightful. I cried almost immediately, upon seeing Arthur's return to Marysas in order to make it suitable for his dream. Linus and Arthur remain a beautiful, queer light, and their relationship with the children (always, specifically, Sal) shines on every page. If Tor wants to give me full access I hope they know I'd love them forever and also they can have any one of my organs.

I found this excerpt really intriguing. I was excited to learn more about Arthur's past and I got a snippet in the prelude. Then you get to see Arthur and Linus and the kids in a cozy scene of domesticity, with the kids attempting to make Linus breakfast for his birthday. And then Arthur and Linus leave to address the government about the crappy system they have for magical kids, but when they get there something fishy is going on with the hearing. I can't wait to find out more when the book comes out!

The House in the Cerulean Sea” is a comfort book to the Hive, so being able to go back and be near the special residents on the island is a true joy. These wonderful characters are a gift. Arthur Parnassus was an enigmatic character in House, so being able to experience life from his perspective will be enlightening. We can’t wait to see the next slice of their lives.

I can't wait for this entire book to be released. As soon as I started reading, I was magically transported back to the cerulean sea. I easily found my place back with the children, and the warm and fuzzy feelings rushed into my heart. I love that the message isn't forced down my throat. The characters help it along, but nonchalantly. It never feels coerced. I have been really looking forward to this title, and have been recomending the first book, The House in the Cerulean Sea, to every patron that comes in the library. I will be doing the same with this sequal. I am interested to find out what happens next, and how the world may change with Arthur and Linus' actions. I have very high hopes for this work, and just from this excerpt, I can tell I will not be let down or disappointed in any way.

Thank you to Netgalley and Tor for the 4 chapter preview of this!
We pick back up with Linus, Arthur and all the children on the island being cute and charming and heart warming and you suddenly remember all the things you love about Cerulean Sea. Arthur is headed to the mainland for the first time in many years to testify to the government on behalf of magical creatures, but not everything is as it seems in Linus’ old stomping grounds. There are messy politics afoot.
I’m so interested to see where the rest of this book will go. All the political discussions feel very timely and I’m hoping it doesn’t get too heavy handed in drawing correlation to our current world, it will be most successful if it can continue to gently skirt the line of obvious i think.

really looking forward to the rest of the chapters!

Somewhere Beyond the Sea, by TJ Klune, is off to a great start! I was was able to read the first 4 chapters and it was like beginning reacquainted with old friends
All of the kids are back, along with Arthur and Linus who are a wonderful couple.

I was left with a cliffhanger and can't wait until this book comes out to see what happens to my good friends.
