Thanks to Net Galley and Abram’s for the Advanced Digital Copy of Lost: Back to the Island. I can’t wait to rewatch the show and get caught up in the episode guides and all the information. I loved the show because of its unique and flawed characters and the deep meaning in each episode. The book highlights each episode with new insight. I truly appreciated new analysis of deeper meanings in the show. It’s truly timeless. I highly recommend this book to both new and seasoned viewers.

Though I wouldn't consider this a must read for LOST fans, it was fun to return to the island with the authors of LOST: Back to the Island. The short synopses and commentaries of each episode were entertaining. I'd forgotten a lot of little things and some big ones! I was one of those LOST fans who would try to figure everything out. You really couldn't/can't be a casual fan of LOST. If you were, you probably quit watching somewhere in season three or four. And how about the controversial final season? The commentaries on season six "explained" this trippy season as well as anyone who "gets it" could. I was one of the fans who was disappointed in season six. We're the ones who tell people that they HAVE to watch LOST and then give them a disclaimer that the end was a let down. I wanted things wrapped up with a nice bow where the LOST writers explained everything., and they didn't. So many questions went unanswered. However, this book helped me to remember that the LOST writers really didn't know where they were going to take the story during the first couple of seasons. The LOST we get in the end looks so much different than the LOST we got in the pilot, but as a die hard fan, I didn't mind. The big takeaway that I got from LOST: Back to the Island is that it truly was an awesome show with fans who were willing to accept what was happening and go with the flow. I think LOST fans will enjoy the trip down memory lane and will want to immediately break out the DVDs and binge watch LOST once again.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
