Fates by Lanie Bross is a unique blend of fantasy and romance that follows Corinthe, a Fate exiled to Earth, who is tasked with ensuring destinies unfold. But when she meets Lucas, a boy whose life she’s supposed to end, things spiral out of control. The forbidden love trope is strong here, and the world-building is intriguing, filled with supernatural rules and high stakes. Though the pacing can be uneven at times, the story’s concept and emotional tension make it a compelling read for fans of star-crossed romance and destiny-driven plots.
I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
This book was a DNF, hard for me to get into, but I am sure other readers will love.
A well-written and enjoyable book, I am glad I requested this title and will be more than happy to pass the title along to my fellow library purchasers.
DNF.
By the time I was half way with the book, I had to stop. I couldn't take it anymore. Corinthe and Lucas annoyed me. I didn't like them at any point and it took many pages to explain pieces of the book.
Like when Corinthe is getting a ride from the principle, get into an accident and the principle dies and a firefly comes to Corinthe. None of that made sense, it took a few pages just to explain that she had to make sure that person dies. Who she really is and why she is on Earth. Then later finds out Lucas is her next target.
Its just a mess and I could not stand this book any longer.
